while he may have known for his low voice but he can actually sing ballad with a beautiful range & everything. to me, he is the most talented member of sb19, most creative and didn't have to say anything to get his power.
ken's clothes is similar of austranisian tribe the ancestors of the Philippines According to historians, some 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, groups of people from Indonesia and Malaysia arrived in the islands of the Philippines to be its first settlers. Both of these countries belong to the Austronesian region and they brought with them their own cultures, traditions as well as languages.
Hello Mirela. I saw your reaction only now. But I understand your point about “class” (?) differences between those with European ancestry and those from indigenous origins. I am from the Philippines. We were under Spain for 300 years. I think the feeling of “superiority” of those with Spanish origins (colonial mentality) was felt a lot in my grandparents’ generation, a little bit still in my parents’ generation too. There still is a bit of that today but not as much. I am what is called a mestiza- my mother has some European ancestry, though she is Filipino. I don’t feel the “race” prejudice, but then maybe it could be because people think I am fair, some children even think I’m white. I love it so much when Pop culture digs into our heritage beyond our colonial period because it makes our young people see that we had a life before the colonists came. It was neither better nor worse than Western ways. But it was ours and added to what we have now, it can only enrich us and our identity.
According to GMA article: Bulan, the primordial moon entity often described as androgynous and soft-spoken, is played by FELIP. Haliya, in most references Bulan's sister or daughter and the masked goddess of the moonlight. Darkness comes in the form of her archnemesis the Bakunawa, a serpent-like dragon who tries to swallow the moon and is believed to be the cause of catastrophes like eclipses.
From the same article, Felip claimed that this story is good metaphor to tackle crab mentality. He was writing about people who try to tear down those who are pursuing ones dreams. Just like the Bakunawa which tried to swallow the light/moon.
Thanks for reacting to Felip. I was really looking forward to your RV. Tbh, I was going to message you, but then I saw your upload. I hope you enjoyed his music.
