- We arrived at the Port Aransas Jetties before sunrise hoping to hook into Kingfish, Jack Crevalle and Redfish. As soon as the sun came up the bite was amazing! @BeachBomberFishing

They are good to catch and release. Lol once they get that big the meat is tough and full of worms. The slot (20"-28") Reds are great eating though.

Hey, Chris, good seeing you in the comments. I haven't used the rattle trap in quite some time. I started the morning off throwing the spoon and caught the 2 Bull Reds back to back. Ruben was throwing the popper and eventually switched to the spoon. I transitioned to the Rapala a bit later to try for Kings and Jacks but I didn't see any caught that day. Thanks for watching.

@@chriscothren8170 yeah no kidding! Those lures are expensive!!! $15 for a Tsunami popper, $16 for a Rapala, $20 for a Daiwa Mebachi and the list goes on. Just have to hope a Kingfish doesn't cut you off. 😂
What pound test for main and leader please?
We were using 65lb braid attached to 100lb mono with an FG knot.
How do you keep from snagging the rocks and loosing your lure when you don't hook one ?
Just have to come to terms with you might get snagged if you let your lure go all the way to the bottom. As you get closer to the jetties you want to keep your rod tip up and reel a little faster so you don't get stuck on the rocks that are closer to the jetties.

Lol a few others hooked up when I caught the 2 Reds back to back then the bite shut down. Ruben hooked his Red around 11 and we didn't see anyone else hook up.

I’m planning on going in July. Do you fish all day or prefer morning or afternoon?
We fished from morning till noon. It is all personal preference. Some people that went in the morning left after a few hours. If you plan on staying all day make sure to bring plenty of water because it's quite a walk from the end to the parking lot.

If you stay all day make plans to take a piss in a 5 gallon bucket. Or if you have to take a sh!t, then your on ur own lol

@@chriscothren8170 lol so far so good. It casts the lures a mile. I got the Fuji K guides and ALPS reel seat. It's super light but of course the Slammer 6500 has some heft.
Matt's Saltwater Fishing same as hers it was long in the butt and took 6” off!would like to try the caster! Affordable rods!
