Brigade 2506 got its name for Carlos Rafael Sanchez Brigade service number 2506. Sanchez was the first Brigade member to die in training.

In the beginning the US Navy AD-1 Skyraider was first consider to be the main attack plane for operation puma but the A-26 was picked to match the Cuban planes.

Many of my friends here in Miami are surviving Brigade members and Mr. Felix Rodriguez the CIA ultimate shadow warrior and the guy who hunted down Che in Bolivia along with Vincent Blanco another Brigade member a radio operator onboard the C-46 and who designed the Brigade logo are my friends.
