"History has shown that they were wrong" Yeah you might want to ask the Puerto Ricans how the post hurricane rebuilding went that only took the Cubans weeks. Communism isnt the best but it beats being a colony.
qtipmotha US sent hundreds or thousands of containers, getting rotten in the port of Puerto Rico, BECAUSE puertorican truck drivers were on strike and did NOT delivered them to the hospitals and people, american soldiers had to go to PR and help to clean and open the roads and they helped deliver. There are ships full of supplies, backed up in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into. However, only 20 percent of the truck drivers show up to work. The will of the people of Puerto Rico is off the charts. The truck drivers have families to take care of, many of them have no food or water. Well man you have to see it from their point of view, what would you tell if you come to the conclusion that the country that trained you and send you to fight also betrayed you, that the only thing you ever achieved is to ensure the regime of the very man you were trying to kill, if these people hadn't lied to themselves they would have killed themselves, they are a total failure.
The point of failure was the assumption that the Cuban people would rise up and join the counterrevolutionaries. That did not happen, regardless of what the original plan was.

There have been good and bad sides to the revolution in Cuba, as there is with any change of power in a country. If that is not surrender or smart stupid , It is pride talking. Dress it up right ok?
What Kennedy said is what's happening in USA today 2024
The US Armed Forces (Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force) should have invaded Cuba instead of Cuban exiles in 1961.
The point of failure was the assumption that the Cuban people would rise up and join the counterrevolutionaries. That did not happen, regardless of what the original plan was.
