    Love this video. I see a lot of places where the lighting team really has their hand in a lot of stuff. I'm hoping my church follows suit for my lighting ministry.

    We run the Chauvet Colorstrips also. We found that if we run our camera at a frame rate of 50 the flicker goes away.

    I have mixed emotions seeing this. On one hand this is awesome and shows how much is involved in putting on the production for the congregation every Sunday. On the other hand I am sad to see the simple church go by the wayside where parishioners gather together in humble obedience to honor God. No glitz, no flashing lights, no sound mixers. Just the temple itself with maybe a piano and an organ. But hey this is the 21st century. Got to keep up with the times.

      Exoress Delivers I get the first 2 (no glitz, no flashing lights) but I do think sound mixers are important to the church. How are people in the back of the church going to hear what the speaker is saying all the way in the front.

    Did anyone notice a tonal or audio quality change when you swapped out your audio consoles? Is design work on systems done in house or do you have a favorite consultant or A/V Contractor? Based on how the room/background noise increased in your mic when you went into the "Green Room" I have to believe your sanctuary is acoustically very well behaved, am I correct?

    Looking at building a new auditorium at our church in Texas. What is your seating capacity? What is your average attendance? I ask because I’m curious about your percentage of building utilization. We are doing some studies on this for our planning purposes. Thanks in advance!

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  6 лет назад

      I am no longer at this church, but the seating capacity is 1200 (800 on the floor, 400 in the stadium seating). However, average attendance is around 550 in all areas of the building.

    Hey is there anyway that you get the person who set up the machines running propresenter to tell us how it's all setup? What I'm looking for is a way to display lyrics on our live stream feed just the way you do as a lower third. I'm curious how you guys have it setup. I believe this will help me understand what additional things I might need for my church.

  • @markjsound

    Why would you put your wireless receivers at foh? You would have less chance for rf issues if they are closer to the transmitters on stage.

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  5 лет назад

      Mark, that’s a solid point. I’ve definitely ran sound at venues and put the receivers on the stage for that exact reason. In this room, RF issues haven’t been an issue and keeping the receivers at FOH allow you to troubleshoot (i.e. do I need to have the stage manager tell the talent to unmute their pack before they go up).

    How would you handle a guitar player who would prefer to play with something like a Kemper or a Helix that they've purchased?

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  6 лет назад

      In our situation, our players play our back line. We try and be upfront about this during the on boarding process and really help people to see the “why” behind it. That said, we try and make sure our players that have really invested in the ministry have opportunities to speak into what the backline is.

    Nice video thanks for sharing Dave got a question around 5 minutes in what are the circle things hanging on the stage

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  6 лет назад

      The set design? They're just cardboard pieces die-cut into circles, then hung with fishing line.

      Practical Worship thanks for the quick response, I actually have about 50 can light trim ring circles that are extra left over and was thinking about hanging those with fishing line. Thanks again keep the videos coming.

    What setup (equipment or apps) are your techs using to communicate behind the scenes?

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  7 лет назад

      It's mainly just your basic 10-year-old wired comm system. We've been experimenting with some iPods that wirelessly tie into the comm system (I forget the name of the app at the moment), but they've been a bit finicky and we mainly just use the iPods as a "this camera is live" light.

    Are you doing wired IEM for your instrumentalists? If so, how do your guitars deal with two cables?

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  7 лет назад

      We use Elite Core headphone extensions, which can hang on your back pocket or your belt. So you don't even really feel the IEM connection. You just have to remember you have a tail when it's time to walk away... ;)

    • @dkerwood1
      @dkerwood1 7 лет назад

      Practical Worship so they don't trip over the extra cable?

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  7 лет назад

      Not really. In fact, I played bass last weekend with the instrument cable and the Elite Core cable hanging off my back and I didn't really think about cable management when I was playing. The only time it was an issue is sometimes I would step back and step on the cables.

    • @dkerwood1
      @dkerwood1 7 лет назад

      I'd imagine your guys aren't moving around much during service. We're a Christian rock band, and as such we do a lot more movement than in church.
      I'm working on having a cable built with guitar and IEM in one cable. That way, I can hang the Elite Core box on my guitar strap, plug in there, and it shouldn't feel much different than not having an IEM cable at all (other than basically having to plug IEM into my guitar). We're hoping to have everything in next week for our first rehearsal and gig with IEM!

    • @practicalworship
      @practicalworship  7 лет назад

      That's exactly what I was gonna suggest... to build a cable that handles both the guitar and the IEMs. That can be as simple as taking the two cables and zip-tying them together. That's a solid option. Best of luck dude!

      When the building was built ten years ago, the church was busting at the seams at the previous location in terms of the amount of people attending and serving within the church.
