Also off topic but thinking of the legolas that gets +1/+1 counters when it’s targeted feels like it’d be right at home in a marwyn deck with all of the pump up and fight spells that go into one.

The only difference that Soul Partition makes is that casting it from exile doesn't increase commander tax. If you put into the command zone, it costs 2 more, but next time it dies it'll cost 4 extra. If you cast it from exile, it'll cost 2 more both this time and after the following death

Not all of us can figure out the strength of a deck by just knowing the cards. It's kind of elusive to some.
