Having a ‘quit’ time applies to retired old people too. I schedule activities for myself such as going to the gym, cleaning my shutters, lunch dates, etc. but every afternoon after I have done what I set out to do I sit with a cup of tea and read for an hour or so, then make supper.
Love that! Thank you for being here, and I hope you have a nice weekend.
Yep I am retired to and have created a routine for myself that definitely includes relaxation 🩷
Please share your recipe of tea
#10 - YES! I have an alarm set on my phone for 7:00pm that announces, "Close up the house I'm done adulting." If there are wet clothes in the washer they stay there until morning. Same with dishes in the dry rack. The blinds come down, the lights go dim, and relax time begins. It's made a huge difference in increased productivity and decreased stress levels. 10/10 highly recommend!
I love the idea of adding the alarm! I need to do that. Thank you
Yes, get rid of the processed food! Seriously I have lost 68 lbs. avoiding the processed food and reading about the new way I can make what I do like a better way. The brain clarity is also amazing! Yes to walking 😊.
Yay! I hope you are doing well.
Happy Sunday, Shannon! This is the perfect time of year for new good habits. Love reset day❤ Love your videos!
Yay! Thank you!
Getting ready and dressed properly plus getting outside is so important, and such a great tip! Ever since Im in Homeoffice (since Covid) i make sure to go for a walk in the morning. I realize that I need this to get not only ready but also to "wake up" (since I did not have go walk to the office anymore). It also helps me to get into the "working"-headspace :-) After a parrticuar straining day I also do it a second time after walk. It really promotes winding down and the "outside-exposure" also helps with sleep, i think.
It can be hard to work from home. I agree that walking and taking outside breaks help a lot!
Wow, these are all very good habits to incorporate!
I always look forward to your simple living tips 😊❤
Simple and functional. Extremely relatable and real.
@@naraiyer3688 I agree ❤
Thank you! I hope you have a nice weekend.
Great tips Shannon!
All great tips! You always seem to come up with good suggestions to better spend your time and enjoy your fanily. I'm guilty of spending too much time scrolling social media and making a conscious effort to limit the time. Having specific time to watch subscribed channels instead of mindless scrolling. Also started coloring, a calm activity. Bought a nice set of colored pencils and an adult coloring book.
Hi Linda, Coloring is so much fun! I love doing that with my kids, but I also have adult coloring books for when I feel like getting creative in a very relaxed way. =)
Hii shanon... Unlike any other RUclipsr you r a true minimalist. Always like your tips on minimalism and on simplifying life .
Love these❤
Just discovering your channel. Needed this today. New to decluttering & am making progress & maintaining organized areas. Luv your advice about getting outside! I have major depression. Sunshine helps & is essential for us all. Also luv seeing another gardener! This vid really helped me today. U are someone i can relate to. Subbed & looking forward to more. In the meantime I'll chk out your older vids. Thanx again for the inspiration on a gray, rainy day. Take care ✌🏽❤️
Awesome advice!❤❤😊
This is a great list. Thank you!
Happy Sunday.
Thanks for great tips and great list.
Take care🧡
Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday =)
The 3 boys are as adorable as their parents
Excellent as always love seeing your everyday family life and choices ❤️I definitely agree with your outlook looking back not regretting just reflecting on how I raised my boys ! My mom always said you can be doing to many activities with children they need to learn to be them and live a little ❤️
Love that!
I kill two birds with one stone. I get on my Treadmill and do my walk and watch RUclipss. That is where I was just now watching your video. I love my Sundays - after church, then I have my regular videos to watch. Thanks for the hints - a lot of them I have already incorporated myself (great a video, even without your mom - only kidding).
I agree, change your mindset from I have to do it to I get to do it. A lot of people don’t have a bathroom to clean or a fridge full of food that needs to be cleaned etc.
Yes! Being grateful changes everything =)
I day gathering my thoughts sounds great perfect idea brain dump always healthy ❤❤❤
Great idea for a brain dump! I love doing this when I feel overwhelmed. =)
Loved your list of habits! I wrote them down and plan to implement most of them. And I also love your weekly videos! Virtual Hugs from NM
Great tips! Thank you.
Sound advice!
As a former English teacher & avid reader, I’m tickled you’ve regained your love for reading! We all need relaxing hobbies! I spent a delightful afternoon yesterday lying on my porch swing reading. But I read every day.
I love it so much! Sometimes, throughout the day, I think I wish I was reading right now, haha.
All great habits, especially #3. So many packaged foods are full of salt, sugar, artificial colors, preservatives, etc.
Yes! I am trying so hard to make my own snacks instead of the packaged stuff.
@@shannontorrens1 And who doesn't love a slice of banana bread or an applesauce muffin!😊
Great tips Shannon! I was wondering if you might recommend a good book or two as the type of books that you described sound like something I would enjoy. 😊
Hello, I really like the author Elin Hilderbrand and I recently read the whole Bridgerton series (romance novels). These are just lighthearted books, nothing too deep, LOL. Right now, I am enjoying a way to escape reality into a more romanticized world, hahaha.
I just finished The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis. This is the summary from the book jacket: "historical novel, a series of thefts roils the iconic New York Public Library, leaving two generations of strong-will women to pick up the pieces." It has two story lines, one that starts in 1913 and one in 1993. I borrowed it from the library and plan to read the author's other books.
Such great advice. 🥰❤️👋
Thank you for watching, Kathleen. I hope you are having a nice weekend.
Love to read ❤
I love these tips! #1 is one I want to be more intentional about & #10 I need to do for sure! Ty!
Yay! I hope you have a nice Sunday.
Another great video!
I wanted to get back into reading, so I reached out to friends and we have started a casual book club!
I look the paradigm shift in number 7!!!!
Thank you!
This was a great video! I liked what you said about not being on your phone unless there's a purpose., You are one of the youtubers on the list of people I purposely watch, I'll probably think of you noe everytime I catch myself mindlessly watching shorts or random videos!
I'd love to start reading fiction again but I don't even know where to start! All I read now are parenting books!
So happy you are enjoying reading again. I have always been a bookworm; and still have a book going all the time. The biggest drain for me has always been overscheduling activities or social invites. Even thtough no children anymore; I found it hard to say no. It has taking me years to be careful what I say yes too and how much. I used to always say yes, then dread going when it was time. thanks for saring your tips.
💜
These are excellent habits to implement. I am going to reset my home and get dressed each morning this week. I have just gotten lazy. Thank Shannon, so appreciate this video and the habits
Great tips! Thank you so much! I always love the opportunity to reevaluate my habits and learn new ways of how or even just when to do things! Great time of year for a cosy reset 🍁🌼☀️
I LOVE your idea of disconnecting from your phone.
You’re so real. Thanks.
This was great! I still have 1 more room to go thru in my home and after that will do like you said to always be decluttering! Thanks
Great list! I especially relate to the last one. There's always more to do and it is important to let ourselves relax and have that down time. Enjoy your week! 🧡
Shannon, this has been such a good video and so helpful. Your home is so beautiful and the outside is so peaceful. 💕🤗
Love these tips! ❤ I need to work on 2 & 5. I will be definitely implementing some new ones on the list. Thank you 😊
Your simplified, healthy lifestyle seems pretty much ideal. Cereal would be the hardest for me to give up.
I definitely need to cut out the snacks in between meals. My husband would never go for it so hard to pass up when they are in the house.
I call wasting time either doom scrolling or procrastascrolling. 😂
😊🎉💚💯
Can you or any of your followers explain the difference between crafty and skillshare? Thanks!
They are similar learning platforms, but Craftsy focuses on crafting education, with over 2000 classes in categories like sewing, quilting, crochet, knitting, cake decorating, baking and more.
Thank you Shannon for helping us make our life easier
Love your channel ❤
When my iPad battery runs out, no more YT.

My mom made home made potato chips from potatoes we grew ourselves. So much fun and delicious!
