Depends. For anything that requires balance like hard wheeling, or just top speed then yeah the Roach is your best bet. If you need better agility, precision and acceleration the the Viper is going to be better. Obviously once you get into the very hard and extreme tracks or you're going for high scores then you reach a point where the you need the Viper, but for gold medals there are times where the Roach is the best bike to use

For other games it may be different but for this speedrun if you do something like pausing during load times it won't be counted as a legit speedrun. It is a bit unfair to people with different loading times I agree, that's why the top speedruns are on PC

Finally I'd say if you're approaching a slope or a gap you need to bunny hop over, try stopping and positioning yourself before accelerating again, if you reverse it doesn't affect the meter on the left. That's how I used to get over the large gaps when I first started playing :)
The ghosts are fast because when you are just playing this game normally you repeat the levels multiple times to get better times. Also this run is only getting gold medals, there are actually also platinum medals in this game which are pretty tough to get. you basically have to grind each track a bunch of times and your best time is your ghost, which your friends can see and race against.
That was the name of the speedrun at the time, because in the game it registers as 100% complete when you have gold on every track. It's since been called "100% Gold" to be more specific. A speedrun containing challenges is simply called Challenge% and I have a video on here of me completing a Platinum% run where I get platinum on every track. There's also a ninja% run where you unlock and complete all the hidden ninja tracks on the extreme tracks, and then speedruns that include DLC which didn't exist when people started this speedrun. There are so many variations it's hard to categorise them all so they just called it 100% for the reason mentioned above
Just try and tap gas when going up hills and tall objects and you will get used to it Ik it was 1yr ago but if u ain't playing tha game replay it its alot of fun
