    You seem to be such a nice guy. I'm glad that you liked to live here and hope that we have treated you the best way possible. It is incredible how well you know our country. Next time you should visit Açores, one of the most beautiful group of islands in the world. I smiled a lot because you described ourselves so good! Greetings from Portugal...

    I lived in Tomar. 2011\12. I'm in Texas now. Even listening to Elder Smith breaks my heart. Before you die, go to Portugal.

      You serious mr Kent Silkey?What is need to go to America?I guess,it"s just my hunch,that now with all this terrorism in Europe,it maybe harder for an european citizen can enter in america,in tourist travel or to get a job.I was born in UK,but i was raised in Portugal.I"m not and i am no muslin or arabian descendy. I am 100% European.

    As a Portuguese man that has lived in 4 different cities, this is a very reductive view of my country. I have no idea where you've been, but my guess is you just spent time in one city (probably Lisbon) and I can assure you that's not a valid overview of the country... it goes as saying that Portugal is all beach... Please, if you wanna provide a proper view of Portugal, please get a little bit into our history, our food, our landscape from north to South... Visit Guimarães, Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon, Evora, Beja and Faro... all of these have their own lifestyle, food and culture.

    Well, I am glad you loved it and hope you get to came back for a more extensive visit. There is still lots of land in the interior that you just need to see, its truly amazing to live in a country were you experience snow up north and after a 4h drive to the south you are on a beach warmed by Africa winds. Even in winter we can get a bit of a tan, lol. And we are going even more humbler as land in the interior can be bought cheap and living off the grid is becoming a huge deal here, for locals and foreigners.

    Im just glad that this has been seen by few people but he's probably been in a small city or something along those lines. Bigger cities are nothing like what he says. It's frankly disappointing.
    Mention the safety, being on of the safest countries in the world, the open mindedness, the fact that it's a modern country that welcomes and speaks English almost nationwide.
    Meanwhile he's mentioning the height of the shower...

    definitely enjoyed hearing you speak, great video! however, as a portuguese myself, and having lived in london for 7 years, the way you talk about portugal makes it seem very 3rd world-ish. there are a lot of rural areas in portugal, our economy also isn't the strongest, but if someone from the u.s. visits any big city in portugal i'm sure it won't feel that way, it's a developed country like most others. (we are also the 5th most peaceful country in the world!)

    Visão muito redutora e pouco realista. Eu vivi alguns anos nos EUA. Casas pequenas e sem isolamento? As nossas casas na sua maioria, e tendo em conta a casa média de cada um dos países, são maiores com melhores acabamentos e materiais do que as vossas. Basta visitar os vossos apartamentos e ver quão minúsculos são, com divisões e principalmente cozinhas que parecem uma amostra comparadas com as nossas. Almoços de 2 horas? Onde? Gostava de ver isso. Não deitamos as moedas fora é verdade, seria ridículo se o fizéssemos, pois temos moedas ate 2 eur, enquanto vocês têm notas a partir de 1 dollar, mesmo assim é um pouco estúpido deitar dinheiro fora. Numa coisa concordo, somos mais humildes e poupados que vocês. Não é necessário ser ultra consumista e gastador em exagero, como vocês, para ter um bom nível de vida. Tomaram vocês perceber a vida é ter a capacidade de a viver como nós. Nos anos que estive nos EUA notei um grande afastamento entre as pessoas, muita dificuldade nos relacionamentos sociais e um enorme refúgio das pessoas no consumismo exagerado para terem algum prazer nas suas vidas. Olhe, se realmente esteve em Portugal faça um pequeno esforço e tente ver as coisas como realmente são e não como gostaria que fossem. Um abraço de um português que tem todo o gosto em voltar a recebe_lo.

      Vasting I live in Canada and spend some time in Portugal. In America, there is no free healthcare, so you will have to pay 6 thousand dollars if you break your leg, there is no free education in America either and it's also really dangerous. There are also 0 mandatory vacation weeks.

    • @deprogramm
      @deprogramm 8 лет назад +2

      SolarPenguin Eh, you're just exaggerating. And no one is entitled to a vacation.

    • @evancabralsilva93
      @evancabralsilva93 8 лет назад

      Vasting I'm not exaggerating at all.if you break your leg you will have to pay around 6k on average. And if you get shot you will pay 200 thousand dollars. There is no free education. So only the rich can go to university. Nothing was over exaggerated.
