I have spent many years volunteering in zoo in Florida. I really appreciate how much time and effort you and Vova put into doing enrichment for Luna and Venza to keep them active and stimulated.
Also, how much effort and energy you put into their diets to keep them healthy. Such hard work to raise healthy animals. Your dedication to their well-being is heart warming. I love how you make it so clear that untrained people cannot view Luna as a pet. She still is a wild animal with all the instincts of a big cat. A long time ago I asked how you taught Luna not to bite or scratch you or Venza. You told me that it was a long, tedious process involving attention switching, voice commands and treats. Luna has grown to be a gentle cat. I think the biggest reason Luna isn't aggressive is that both of you understand and respect each other so well. All the hard work is paying off

Обычных кошек тоже надо этому учить. Не знаю, почему многие этого не делают. Царапины менее летальные? Но мне никакие не нравятся, поэтому я всегда учила. Они достаточно понятливые. Ну или мне так везло.

Thank you Vika for posting this. When I first started watching your videos within the last year I was very concerned.
As a little girl I fell in love with wild cats. My dad had a customer that brought in her ocelot and later her Mountain Lion into his store. I never met them. But I so wanted to get a wild cat as a pet.
As I grew up I learned how important it is for wild animals to not be kept as pets. When I first saw your videos I was very concerned. But as I learned your story I came to realize that you caring for Luna/Lusha was the only option.
So thanks for scaring off the humans from getting their own wild animal as a pet.

As a guy once said never judge a book by its cover many people look at Luna and say I want one and I know how to take care of it by watching alone but it's actually hard and requires expertise to understand her and not every panther (leopard) has the same personality as her .

Yep, there are many sacrifices. They can't just have a friend or relative take care of her so they can go on vacation together. If they have children that too will be a much more difficult adjustment and challenge than for most people. It's a 24/7 responsibility.

And the part Venza played in socializing the young Luna shouldn't be underestimated.

Луна в тысячу раз более воспитана чем большинство домашних кошек, ибо, если бы Луна вела себя как домашние кошки, хозяев не было бы на этом свете.

Потому что если той или мини-пудель будет рычать и кусаться, лаять на всех, рваться из рук, с ним еще можно справиться. А если так будет себя вести кане-корсо или немецкая овчарка, тут ой.

Vika, you, Vova, and Venza are great parents. The three V's.
One part of the video shows Luna is not interested in your call of the frog and she went out to her night retreat. That is a sign that how much you respect her and you didnt chase her, calling stupid names but acceptance.
As I learn from my bunch of cats that I have all go on different directions to retreat of the day and they know how much you respect that.
That is beautiful as we also retreat to our bedrooms knowing no one is chasing us.
Giving freedom to a cat this way is an act of love and respect.
You should have a sanctuary to help other wild cats as you are been chosen for the Universe as a teacher for these beautiful sentients. You have a medal gold as an animal protector. I admire you deeply.

Everyone who had house cats will understand behaviour of Luna. Cats have diffrent characters, theyre often scratching everything, being more active at night, fighting at night, but as small cats its not so intense. Who wouldnt forgive cute kittens
I have had many cats over the years but my latest is the first to growl when someone calls.
@@peckelhaze6934 I remember the first time my Atticus growled. A cat growl is decidedly scarier, in my opinion, than a dog's. My Attie wasn't growling at me, but at a cat on the stoop staring at him through the window. I thought Attie had become possessed by a demon. hehe Their vocalizations can be very intimidating if you're not prepared for them.

When i think back over about my first glimpses on the channel & back today... I just can show a tone of respect to how wonderfully this pair (featuring the unestimable help of another full grown female rottweiler that, don't forget became the gentle she is because was previously grown up by the same two people to be so...) have grown a, nowadays, maybe 40 kilos black female leopard (guys & girls, i know you can say it quickly, but... a LEOPARD), and all you can see when you consider the full physical & moody pack of Luna today, comes to be... Just another typical homie... cat. Just maybe... Remarkably bigger, but that's all... And it's a leopard, a L-E-O-P-A-R-D! That can only be achieved by a perfectly tempered, perfectly livingspace conditioned growth: We can't let go the tough times they sure had been through at several times of Luna's lifetime, whatever kind of issue anybody could bring to mind... Legal ones, when Luna began throwing an adult mood, getting the right big enough livingspace for the 4 of them no matter what, vet/med... I mean, just economically, the money necessary to be joint monthly in order to feed the 4 all these years (only the food/drink), make your accounts... And they knew in what a life changing condition were getting into when adopted Luna... That can only be first sight, unconditional (if it does exist any other kind) true love & compromise to her... From Barcelona i can only thank you the 4 for so many funny/amazing moments on RUclips... Long life to each one & to the very channel! Cheers everybody reading!

I've always been impressed with how mutually cooperative Luna's "child raising" process is, but with boundaries that are continually enforced -- A little at a time, over and over. I suspect that's why Vika continues to "play" with Luna in minor ways (e.g., petting, scratching, etc.) even when Luna really doesn't want to play. It's not to irritate Luna, but rather remind her who's the boss and reinforce that she needs to obey. The rules and boundaries are enforced gradually but continually, rather than suddenly by brute force. After all, two humans can't "brute force" a fully grown wild panther into doing what she doesn't want (that could turn deadly)! It's vital that Luna continually understands boundaries and knows who's in charge, with allowance and patience from both cat and humans (and dog!).

И это правильно. Кошка в Египте вообще охранение богов. Ленинград, Эрмитаж, спасали кошки... Человеку нравится подчинять! А когда львы или тигры рвут публику...Все забывают, собаки, так не делают. Это конечно родственник кошки, но не кошка...
И это животное (лепард\ягуар) было основным хищником, который был естественным врагом человека (крокодил наступал её на пятки). Все прочие львы,тигры и всякие саблезубые - меньше. Это длилось многие тысячи лет.
Посмотрев, как Луня скачет по деревьям, легко представить себе, как вот такая хреновина выскакивала из кустов и хватала ребёнка за горло. Кстати, куча видео, где леопард\ягуар подкрадывается к спящеё крупной собаке и ловко хватает за горло, огромный пёс превращается в беспомощный кусок мяса...

Love this! I appreciate that you actively try to dispel any naive notions about keeping a wild cat. I certainly don't condone people who buy wild animals as novelty pets, and yet don't know or research what a lion, tiger, leopard, etc. truly needs.
But I think anyone who follows you for any length of time knows this is NOT what you and Vova are about. Saving/rehabilitating an animal that otherwise would not have survived is something else entirely. And though Luna is bonded with the two of you, not just anyone can or should go snuggle her like she's a big housecat.
I'm thinking about the video Vova posted when Luna helped herself to meat and didn't want him to remove the bag. She got very possessive, which is understandable for a number of reasons. It's also a good reminder that she is NOT in fact a housecat. ;) You are aware of her natural, instinctual behaviors and don't try to ask her to NOT be a leopard - even if she sometimes got herself stuck on the roof. hehe Some people don't understand that, even with domestic animals, we shouldn't be trying to dominate or squash all behaviors we find inconvenient.
I've had people see scratches on my arm courtesy of my own cats and tell me they'd harm a cat if it did that to them. (eyeroll). The scratches are not gouges. They are the normal sometime occurrence from handling an animal that has razor sharp claws. I simply tell them that they should never get a cat because claws and scratching are part of the package. And none of it means the cat was trying to attack me. I own small domesticated predators, and I knew that going in.
You are NOT an average lay person. Your experience with big cats shows in the enrichment you give her, the diet you feed her, and the environments you let her explore as she parkours off trees, over Vova's head and launches at Venza as they play through the forest. You are fortunate that you live near such natural habitats that aid in giving her the closest thing to the life of a wild leopard. But no doubt it all takes work. You don't get a day off from caring for a leopard and all that she needs.
Those of us who follow you get to live vicariously (and safely) through all you share - particularly those videos where we are watching from your vantage point. Thank you for saving her and for educating us daily. May you all have many more years together, full of love, adventure and amusing cat antics. They are magical - as funny as they can be fierce.

Thank you for explaining that about her hiss and growl. I knew you had it under control because alot of us have been watching you all for a long time. Yes, Any animal is not happy all the time. Yes, They have their own way to show us their needs and desires. We just have to respect that they have feelings just like us. We know how much love and understanding you both give to Luna and Venza and we know they love you both dearly. It is all good.

Hola chicos, muy buena idea este video, Vika me encanta porque siempre tiene los pies bien afirmados en el suelo.
Esta bueno esto que aclaras, no vi los comentarios de que tu hablas , pero desde hace tiempo he leído algunos y me preocupé , porque muchos ven a Luna como un simple gatito doméstico, tal vez un poco crecido, pero siempre hay que tener claro y presente , que ella es una pantera, con su carácter y necesidades que no todos conocemos ni sabríamos enfrentar y resolver como lo hacen ustedes.
Hay que tener mucha capacidad , entendimiento y sacrificio para hacer lo que hacen ustedes, sí, es algo admirable, pero tiene sus riesgos.
También hay que estar atentos no sólo a su alimento sino, a sus ejercicios para calmar la ansiedad que en determinadas épocas aflora. Tienen además la ayuda de Venza, que también pone límites.
Hay gente que por no saber, les parece que Luna es como un perro más, se ve dócil y mimosa, se puede abrazar( pero por Vika y Vova), entonces no hay que cometer errores y pensar que cualquier persona puede hacerse cargo de un animal así, NO es :"que tenga cria que quiero uno". Creo que es peor que confundir un caniche con un cane corzo.
Gracias a ti podemos disfrutar a Luna, en toda su forma de ser, pero siempre quisiera verla así, dulce y mimosa, pero ser consciente que no es "un lindo gatito".
A los seguidores les pido que vean realmente el esfuerzo de esta familia, para criar a Lunita con todo el amor que le Tienen, que no es tan fácil como parece y que es una obra de mucho respeto .

Кошка гуляет сама по себе и лишь по весне с котом...🙂 Кстати, ротвейлерши тоже довольно характерные дамы. Имею скромный опыт, со щенков была воспитана Лита, моя любимейшая собака, тоже ротвейлер... Счастья вам и добра!
Кошка гуляет с котом и летом, и осенью, и зимой, и вообще когда придётся. Котята 2 раза в год - это норма для домашних кошек со свободным доступом на улицу.

Здравствуйте, это Сусана из Канады. Спасибо за объяснение огромного труда по уходу за большой кошкой. Хорошо, что вы это делаете, потому что есть много людей, которые ничего не понимают в больших кошках и думают, как вы сказали, о том, что это пушистый и милый котенок. Леопард особенно наименее общительный из больших кошек. Как любитель больших кошек, я могу только смотреть издалека с восхищением. Я искренне понимаю и ценю то, как вы работаете с Луной. Я знаю, что в фоновом режиме предстоит проделать очень много работы. Ха-ха, у меня есть своя мини-черная пантера и у него очень сильная воля, когда он не хочет что-то делать.
