I got to see La Santa Cecilia play last November in Berkeley, CA, one of the most joyous events I’ve ever witnessed. Great musicians and wonderful people all around. La Marisoul with that gorgeous voice and immediate ownership of the stage!!!❤🎶😊🇲🇽🇺🇸

I saw La Marisoul sing Detonantes (Little Triggers) with Elvis Costello at a benefit here in Austin, and it was one of the most powerful live performances I've ever witnessed. I about burst out into tears at the majesty of her voice.
sorry kexp but you drop the ball with this, I expected new talents trying to show new sounds and mirror reflections of the reality that we are going through right now in Mexico, this only reflects nostlagia covers that sound identically to the source and anything else. Other thing, you bring a band from L.A. when I'm sure that there are bands near of Mexico city with more things to show us besides nostalgic covers.
There were 9 performances in this series. It looks lioke LSC is the only U.S. band to be featured. The rest of the performers are from Mexico and South America.
I think they are wonderful. I am glad this was made by kexp. I went straight from the Cervantino festival website to RUclips to learn about them. This is what I found and I will be a fan of them hence forth. There is space for everyone, including culture rich cover groups which btw is a Latino heratige 🤍🤍🙏🙏🤍🙏🌺 I love them and this recording
