He has always been great in these big matches. Scoring the only goal in 2021 Copa America final vs. Brazil. Argentina could have won 2014 World Cup if he could play in the final.
Scaloni had no experience as main coach before taking over the argentine national team. The fact that he showed this level of tactical brillance and analysis of the games is insane.
he still made a huge mistake and almost paid the price for it. In the final minutes of the 2nd half, france had TOO many fresh lungs and a change of tactics, which scaloni failed to adapt to fast enough. from all the intense pressing, players like de paul, alvarez etc were VERY exhausted and had to deal with fresh lungs. Changes like Alvarez- lautaro, and de paul - paredes should've happened way sooner and also he should've put in pezzela or lisandro martinez around the 75 minute mark, to keep the 2-0 and close out the game. Instead he only subbed di maria for acuna... and had 2 backs with 1 operating as an extrem. I didn't like scaloni at this part of the match...changes and adaptations should've happened. But other than this 15 minutes , scaloni did great.
@@akhsdenlew1861 Well, yes, nobody denies he made mistakes, but still, you can't deny how brilliant and confidente he was for a young, new coach with no previous experience.
@@SpreadSheetSoccer yes but Argentina always does this. They gain the lead and then relax and lose control in the back. I was flabbergasted when France came back within 2 minutes and again in extra time. Seriously I'm amazed Argentina didn't give up or become disheartened after memebappe made Argentina and Messi suffer with the equalizers
@@SpreadSheetSoccer Argentina really allowed Mbappe and France in. So, i see it more as Argentina's mistake than Mbappe or France's great play. Ok, i agree that Mbappe still had to score, which he did well.
I still think if Di Maria could play the entire first 90 minutes, the game would not even have been close. If they wanted fresh legs or a defensive formation, they should've subbed anyone but Di Maria.
Di Maria was carrying a light injury, that is why he didnt play the last 2 games at the start team. By putting him on the start in the final, Scaloni knew he couldnt risk him for 90 minutes. Beeing 100% healthy, Di Maria would have had more chances to play the entire match in my opinion.
Di Maria doesn't have the stamina to play for 90 minutes, but subbing him with Acuna was a mistake. Acuna is a defender and can't do much offensively. French right wing pretty much ignored him and focused on the offense. That changed the dynamics of the game.
Unfortunately, Di Maria doesn't last as long as before, he had been recovering from some discomfort in previous games, it's not the coach's fault or anything. That is why Scaloni did not take risks and saved him only for the final match. I wish he had been there longer, France was subdued in large part thanks to him.
deschamp is old school? old school is leaving ur french all time goal scorer on the pitch and some,he just got out coached by scaloni and argentina has the right players for his tactics.
This Thursday night man City vs Liverpool carabao league cup match please analyze that match and please analyze Barcelona women tactics. Barcelona women have a match on Wednesday night.
the flu and locker room issue killed France's momentum. they werent sharp as before when they needed to be the most. also, Hugo Lloris penalty goal keeping was really bad.
The first goal was not a penalty and the 3rd goal shouldnt count bc several teams in this world cup were called offsides but it was messi so ref turned blind eye 😅 and geez those penalties shoot out 🙄 pay attention to detail.
Di Maria was the man of the match until his exit then the Argentine suffered a lot he's underrated and finally I want to see Zizou as coach of France

in fairness, he was already working with the NT as a tactical analyst for the previous manager, Sampaoli, and acting as the manager for the Sub20 NT.
This was a rollercoaster, such an amazing finals. Mbappe has ice in his veins and really kept France in it.
It was so good. Mbappe is going to really be something special

Lautaro Martinez tried his hardest the whole tournament but ultimately Argentina still won the World Cup.

Great analysis! subscribed
Thank you!
Di Maria was magnificent -- he made the difference. Kudos to Scaloni for this move, and praise to Angel.
Scaloni dimaria and messi
Messi didn't do it alone he needed 10 more good players

I think I might do the carabao cup game depending on who plays. IF city and Liverpool rest a lot of guys I might not cover it
How about how Argentina did it? This single player whorship is just sick.
NGL that first penalty is sus.
How Messi did it? It's a 11 men sport.
