One of the things that may have not been mentioned is that “AlBalad”, is actually the original “Downtown”, of Jeddah and that it is one of the oldest downtowns in history among modern or other contemporary cities around the world … some people would think that places like Damascus or Cairo are older, but, the fact that the name of the city is Jeddah translated from Arabic means Grandmother, because the last resting place of Eve (Adam and Eve), is in Jeddah predating any and all other cities on Earth …

I heard about this story a lot, and that Adam landed in India and they met in Arafat, so it was called Arafat because they met and recognition each other
      there.
      arafat in arabic means (recognition)

In the summer, Saudis go to cold cities such as: Taif, Al Baha, Baljurashi, Sabt Al Alaya, Al Namas, Tanomah, Abha, Bellahmar, Balsamer, Fifa Mountains.
Do not leave Saudi Arabia except by visiting archaeological sites, the most important of which are: Al-Ukhdood in Najran, Jubbah and Shuwaymis mountains, Maghaer Shuaib Cave, Musas Mountain, Diriyah, The Red Sea Islands in Umluj and Al-Wajh
Saudi Arabia is best visited with cultural festivals such as: Janadriyah Festival, Souk Okaz Festival, Taif Rose Festival, Olive Festival in Al-Jawf, Dates Festival in Qassim,Jasmine Festival in Jizan
    etc..

Come visit the South of Saudi Arabia where is the good weather. There are good places like Abha city, Rijal Almaa and An-Nimas Rijal Almaa has the heritage village. From there you can go forther toward the south to the city of Jazan. Where you will find variety of delicious food such as Marsa (brown bread chopped with banana and both local honey and ghee), fish magsh ( local fish cooked in saucepan made of stone)...etc. moreover there are good places in Jazan like Wadi Lajab ( similar to wadi dissa), Fayfa ( a town build in the top of the high mountain), further more, you can go to Farasan Island. I hope this was a good guiding for you and have fun.

    1. is this the right time / season to visit Saudi Arabia or the ME in general, since it's so hot there at this time of the year?
    2. _When_ and _if_ you are going to visit Egypt, Turkey, Iran and Jordan? I've been to Egypt a long time ago and travelled inside the country extensively for 3 months during Pharaoh Mubarak's reign. My experience was good on the whole with good memories, but I hear from others (some, not all) a somewhat different story nowadays. I would love to see it again through your eyes. I wonder if it's still the same or changed... 😀 Also, Iran and Turkey seems interesting. I hope to visit one or both of these countries sometime next year when the weather is cooler... I simply can't stand high temperature!

@@hash9065 i surmised pretty much the same and was wondering why the Steiners are doing this at this time. Very hot places take the fun out of travelling - in my view. If you are forced to stay inside air-conditioned hotels, malls, cars, etc most of the time then there is no point in travelling there for fun.

@@GUULLIVER I have seen many travelers. There is no depth in explaining Islamic culture and Arab customs in Saudi Arabia. As for visiting in the summer, Saudis go to spend time in natural cities, which have beautiful weather in summer, such as Taif, Abha, Fifa Mountains, Al Baha and Al Namas.
Saudi Arabia has a lot of mountainous, coastal and desert terrain..and it can be visited in all seasons because the temperatures are different between desert cities and mountain cities..but it is better to choose what you want from the visit, do you want nature, culture, archaeological sites, etc..
The most important thing is to ask the people of cities about what are the most beautiful places. As a Saudi, there are many nearby Saudi cities. I do not know the most beautiful places except by searching for city-specific sites on Instagram and Twitter as evidence.
To enjoy the experience of visiting Saudi Arabia, try to visit it with the dates of cultural, tourism, shopping, agricultural and sports festivals. Each region has its own characteristics.

@Stadler Huyna We have more Christians in Jeddah than Muslims in most of America’s state and european cities. And I don’t get your point why it’s a problem that all of them are Muslims?

The fountain was established during the reign of the late King Fahd Bin Abdelaziz … it’s used, along with the flag on the flagpole, the same way displaying the Union Jack on top of Buckingham Palace and other residences of British Sovereignty to indicate weather He/She is currently in residence and that is the real they are made to be so tall …
