  • India has posted enormous growth in the past decades and is projected to expand solidly in the years to come. But the economic prosperity hasn’t trickled down to everyone. Inequality remains high and young people in particular are struggling to find work. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi looks set to secure another term, many are wondering for how long the country’s growth story can continue.

Indias biggest long term problem is brain drain. Modi really needs to do more to improve the lives of upper middle class people there. The visa wait list to come to the USA is now 3 years. Tens of thousands of doctors go to the USA as soon as they finished school in India, same with computer programmers. You can't constantly have your highest educated people just leaving the country fight after college.

India like Rest of World Faces Reduced Labour. The Days of Labour are Reducing while Need More Entrepreneurship. Mass Automation Began Few Decades Back where AI is Just 1 of the 100 Disruptive Mass Automated Tech of 21st Century. Automation began 1000s of Years Ago where Waterwheel Technology is Just 1 Automated Tech that was used More than 2000 Years Ago Even in India for Agriculture, Metallurgy, etc. The 100 Disruptive Mass Automated Tech Besides Just AI was given as a Periodic Table of Disruptive Technologies around 2018.
For Entrepreneurship, Just Having Technical and Analytical Skills from Natural and Formal Sciences Are Not Enough. 1 also needs Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Too Combined with Natural and Formal Sciences for Relationship Building, Strategic Management, Critical and Logical Thinking Skills, Creativity, Innovation and More.
Kids should be Encouraged as Toddlers to Observe Their Environment where Teachers and Parents should share their Research Knowledge with Kids about Their Environment (Mathematics is a Good Example as it's a Universal Language Used in All Areas. For example, look at your body or plants or fruits or architecture and so on? Do you see Mathematical Patterns of Golden Ratio, Fibonacci Series, Pi, Symmetry, etc. Does sunflower have Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Series - same goes with others too including check out with fruits and food have those too which is also there in Anatomy, Architecture and so on. They all have shapes and so on too. So, Mathematics is 1 example though while playing and so on within the surrounding environment, 1 can observe various other aspects that 1 would have learnt which 1 could share with Toddlers).
By Sharing that Research Knowledge with Toddlers as well as Encouraging Toddlers to Read and Become Curious Even Within Their Surrounding While Playing Or Doing Some Other Activity, Toddlers and Kids Would Hopefully Get Curious and Read Books, Watch Videos and More that Helps them to Learn More.
By Learning More, Hopefully Kids while Growing Up will Share that Knowledge with Peers including during Class Discussions INSTEAD OF JUST ROTE LEARNING that Some Nations Still Have where Toddlers and Kids Read Books and Watch Videos that Slowly Turns to Reading Research Articles Too, Case Studies Too and Many Other Ways of Learning Too While They Grow Up Which Helps Kids with Peer to Peer Collaborative Learning of Integrated Areas of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Formal Sciences with Research Knowledge Too.
Then, of course, there is the Practical Part where Vocational Studies within These Integrated Areas of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Formal Sciences also helps as 21st Century Needs STREAM Skills that Helps with ENTREPRENEURSHIP Too - Kids could get those from the time they are around 13 while studying at school, doing internships while studying during Bachelors and so on.
21st Century Needs Less Labour and is More on Entrepreneurship with those 100 Disruptive Mass Automated Tech where AI is Just 1 of those 100 Mass Automated Technologies

India has Less than $US3000 Nominal Per Capita Income where it's the INDIAN GOVERNMENT that STATED Worst States of India with High Poverty, Worst Literacy Education and Skills for Most and Worst Standards of Living for Most having 70+% of Indian Population are from Bihar 1st followed by UP, MP, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, etc (Bihar has More than 125 Million People and UP has Around 245 Million People). These States Alone have Around 70% of India's Population.
Can also CHALLENGE the INDIAN GOVERNMENT as It is the INDIAN GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES including Sanjeev Sanyal and Many Others on their Social Media Accounts Too As Well As Through Interview Videos that are there on RUclips too that stated that India has Only Around 15 to 20 Years to Get DEMOGRAPHIC DIVIDEND Else India is Headed for Demographic Disaster with Most of the Worst States of India Being in Mess (Just Few States have that Demographic Dividend Opportunity remaining as Most States Already Lost That Opportunity because Their Population Growth Rates and Population Numbers are Declining Lots While Just Few States of India have their Population Numbers Still Going Up Though Their Population Growth Rates Too have Declined).
India is called a Lower-Middle-Income Nation where Just Goa, Delhi, Sikkim and Chandigarh are Only States and Union Territories that have More than US$4000 Nominal Per Capita Incomes while the Above 12 States are the Worst in India for State Per Capita Incomes.
There are about 10 States of India between US$3000 to US$4000 State Per Capita Incomes where Most South Indian States have had Those State Per Capita Incomes of between US$3000 to US$4000 Per Capita Incomes for Quite Sometime while couple of others within North India have only recently joined that range.

India's PPP Per Capita Income (around $10000, around 125th in the World), Nominal Per Capita Income (Less than US$3000) are LOW. According to Nominal Per Capita Income, India is Behind China, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, South Korea, Japan, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Israel, Jordan, UAE, Most Central Asian Nations and More in Asia. Amongst BRICS nations, India has the Lowest Nominal Per Capita Income. Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa etc have Higher Nominal Per Capita Incomes than India. Mauritius, Gabon, Botswana, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Algeria, Namibia, Cape Verde, Eswatini, Djibouti, Morocco, Sao Tome and Principe are many more African Nations having Higher Nominal Per Capita Incomes than India.
Fastest Growing Region in Asia is Southeast Asia though Philippines is behind Singapore which is already a Developed Country, Malaysia that along with China is Close to Being High-Income Nations while Quite Developed Too, Thailand even though Slowing Down Still Has Higher Per Capita Incomes than Philippines and India, Brunei though High-Income Nation Not Fully Developed, Vietnam and Indonesia that are ahead of Philippines Too for Per Capita Incomes. Behind Philippines within Southeast Asia are Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Timor Leste for Per Capita Incomes as well as Many More.
South Asia is the Worst Region Within Asia where Southeast Asia, East Asia, Central Asia, West Asia, North Asia etc are way ahead where South Asia has 1 of the Worst Regional Trade Too within the World, Worse than between Middle Eastern Nations or between just African Nations or between just South American Nations and so on.
Again as stated in the previous message just above, INDIAN GOVERNMENT is the 1 that STATED the Worst States of India with High Poverty, Worst Literacy Education and Skills for Most and Worst Standards of Living for Most having 70+% of Indian Population are from Bihar 1st followed by UP, MP, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, etc (Bihar has More than 125 Million People and UP has Around 245 Million People). Either you people need an excuse to showcase hate against India or you are serious about democratic value and if you are then no matter how much fast china is growing it will always be behind India because china is not a democracy. It is easy to develop a country where government has absolute power and population is homogeneous but in country like India where more than 2000 political party and thousands of pressure groups are working making decisions become harder if you want to make a policy or a political decision you have to appease many people and different groups. Growth cannot just come from one industry, every quality of life industry needs to receive research and development, and move upward on the tech tree.
Manufacturing also needs to play a role, it's a way to have wide middle class employment, which will feed one generation to create an innovative next generation.
Maybe controversial, but maybe try giving indians a stipend to spend on a particular goods or service per year, to prop up domestic capabilities through consumption.
Consumption domestic will lead to a benevolent cycle where people will need to fill those roles, while making money will create consumption to justify that role. Over time those stipends can end.

I doubt that India's growth really had a whole lot to do with Modi
It is more that manufacturers are leaving China for India, Vietnam, Mexico, etc...
India has the larges work force and low wages
Which makes it a popular place for companies looking to cut costs
Having grown up in the 80's here's my historical perspective of economics
In the 80's we were afraid of Japan's rising tech sector overtaking us in the U.S.
Then we started outsourcing call centers to India and people threw shade at them for taking American jobs
Then we started outsourcing manufacturing to China and the focus switched to them threatening our economy
Now, we are looking for the next option for cheap labor
I knew some people from India in college who came to the U.S. for an education

Economists say that India will face debt problems in 10 years as it cannot generate enough revenues to pay the debt because its growth is different than China's. China created multitude of industries and build infrastructure to facilitate its growth through global trade but India does not have various industries and its new infrastructure doesn't connect together its limited industries.
