Yes Jihyo became a trainee when she was literally a kid, and yes it's legal to be a trainee in any age as long as their parents sign the agreement.
In the first seven years, she was trained to be an actress, but she changed her mind and start to be trained as a idol in the last three years of her training career. So if you search deeply, you might find some ads that she took part in.

Park Jihyo is everything I live for. Her vocals are amazing. Her vibe is perfect. She is most definitely the best this group has to offer.
TWICE never disappoint, trust me + when it comes to concepts they can do all cute, girly, crush, summer vibes and bright etc. Their albums sound even better so I hope after listening to their title tracks + Japanese MVs cuz they're amazing too, you can react to their albums and I know you'll love them more for their discography is pure perfection, there's no GG in the world can match the greatness in TWICE discography! Tzuyu has two different pronunciations; in her native Taiwanese Mandarin it is something like "sue-yew" (there's a video of her teaching it to Dahyun) and in Korean it's close to "choo-we" or Chewy. Also the one you liked with the antenna-hair in Scientist is Dahyun, which is actually pronounced Tah-yun (D's sound like T's).
Not exactly (according to the vid you mention): Chewy is more like a joke (Star wars reference) and a US pronunciation; Korean would be between Joo-we and Tsoo-we; original is Tsoo-u (oo, very short and u, like a French u (or German ü)). Check here (2.09):

the amount of Americans I hear mispronouncing Dahyun as DDAH-HEE-YUN is so ridiculous. The same as Jihyo as JEE-HEE-YO. It makes me cringe.

Twice is THE group that inexplicably wins over people who dislike cute concepts so I'm happy you're giving them a chance! Fun fact some other girls from Sixteen are Chaeyeon (iz*one), Chaeryeong (Itzy), Somi (IOI/soloist), Jiwon (fromis_9) and Natty (soloist).
Jihyo trained at the same time as Wonder Girls, 2PM and Miss A members, she was a crazy young trainee. Momo is one of the best dancers in the industry, actually she, Dahyun, Mina and Chaeyoung did an amazing cover of Taemin's Move and he said that they captured the feeling of the choreo better than anyone else! Momo and Jihyo also had a special dance performance to Goodbye with Taemin, also incredible.
That one with the antenna hair was Dahyun, my bias and variety queen! I feel like Twice's choreo is a bit underrated, I love the part in Alcohol Free when they mimic mixing cocktails. The blonde rapper was the second youngest Chaeyoung, the maknae Tzuyu (pronounced tzuwy) had the red dress in AF.
Twice have 3 "lines" people talk about, Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Jihyo are 3mix because they were initially supposed to debut together years earlier in a group called 6mix, Momo, Sana and Mina are the Japan line and maknae line Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu are the School Meal Club.
Btw I second the other people mentioning that it would be fun to check out SNSD too!

@@raf1159 They were the only ones who were too young to have graduated when Twice debuted, they all went to Hanlim Art School together and were roommates in their very first dorm, so it's a reference to them having school lunches together!
Hello! Despite what kpop fans say, I wouldn't call TWICE concept "cute", I would say it's "Bright" bc they're always something more than cute yk... Their title tracks are meant to be fun and colorful since their goal is to lift your mood up and I love them but if you want the real TWICE experience I recommend their b-sides, their discography is amazing and imo they're even superior to the title tracks. Also, if you're not into these bright concepts don't worry, TWICE will force you to enjoy it hehe you'll be surprised how many ONCEs were haters before actually opening their minds to "new" stuff. I mean, I used to be all rock and alternative before TWICE dragged me into this kpop world/hell. lmao
Also, 2:50 that's my queen Jihyo! One of the best performers I've seen live. 💖And yes, she was a trainee for 10 years. She got into JYPE when she was 8 and in fact, there are videos of 2 pixels of her little self with other jype artists back then 🥺

Twice is one of the biggest and one of the most legendary acts in kpop and their discography is incredibly diverse while still having that bright Twice flavor. You should definitely continue with them.

TWICE literally changed and saved my life. My music taste was pretty different to K-Pop let's say 10 months ago, but man TWICE is everything for me. For half a year I'm struggling with depressions and to be honest without TWICE it would be thousand times more worse. Every video I watch makes me smile and I forgot about my problems. I sing to every song even if my korean is still very bad. What I really really like about them is that you can see that they are not staged, they are themselves. You can especially see that in their vlive, the time to twice videos and every behind the scenes.

I had my reservations with Twice at the beginning cause they fell in my "cutesy" category and I was very against it lol Now they're one of my absolute favs, they show growth without losing their identity as a group. Alcohol-Free is my favorite TWICE song for soooo many reasons! everything you touched upon! the song itself was a nice refreshing summer hit with the many acoustic instruments they had. The jazzy piano with the Spanish guitar melodies and just enough of electronic music Kpop sounds and aesthetic to bring it back. it was a delight then and is now. The choreo is so visually interesting. I love the bar they make for Dahyun during the bridge.
however based on the teasers for their next comeback it maybe my second favorite TWICE song lol.

The blonde one who rapped in "can't stop" is chaeyoung not the maknae but she's the 2nd youngest, 25:07 this the maknae. She's also the one in red who you called beautiful in 17:28 "alcohol free" although to be fair you called most of them beautiful 😂 (also chaeyoung is the pink haired one in alcohol free)

Twice's main concept is cute, but recently they've been showing a more mature side (for example, the MVs: Fancy, Feel Special, More&More, Doughnut, Breakthrough, Dance the Night Away and more). For cute concepts we have: Cheer Up (their first hit), What is Love (this is one of the most creative mvs I've ever seen!!), TT, Knock Knock (and many more).

Even their debut, Like ooh-ahh's mv has some cute scenes and even Scientist is a very colorful mv, even though the song itself isn't cute. But there's nothing wrong with admitting that. I like it bc twice's "cute" isn't shameful or forced as the concept cute is known.
Twice can also be serious, just look at "Cry for me". It also has a fully English version.

In "Scientist", the one with the "space tails" (antennae hair) is Dahyun (pronounced DAH-HYOON). She's my TWICE bias :)) And the one you pointed out at the end of "Alcohol Free" is Jihyo, the leader. For next songs to check out from them, I agree with the others who have said "Like Ooh Ah", "What is Love?" and "Dance the night Away". Oh, and Tzuyu is pronounced CHEWY in Korean.

Twice is a South Korean group that debuted in October 2015 after competing in a survival show called “sixteen” their debut song is called Like Ooh Ahh, they have songs in Korean, Japanese and English.
They are currently the most awarded and best-selling K-Pop girl group, in addition to having received titles such as K-Pop Representative Group, King of Girl Groups, Number One Girl Group in Asia, and in Korea they are called the Nation's Group.
I'm going to talk about them in order of age, from oldest to youngest, and describe who they are according to the music video for "The Feels" is just watching and following, I hope it helps who wants to know more about them
Nayeon (Korean) is the one with the pink streak that starts the song, she is the lead vocal (second vocalist), but she usually sings most of the song, but even the main vocalist is the face (face of the group) and center (considered the prettiest for Koreans) eldest of the group
Jeongyeon (Korean) is the blonde who wears a beret, is lead vocal, is in the same position as Nayeon, even though she doesn't sing almost anything in the songs, unfortunately, because her voice is wonderful, she didn't appear in the dance scenes because she's taken away from activities to care for anxiety issues and a neck injury
Momo (Japanese) is the one with black hair with bangs and blonde highlights, on her clothes she has the number 64, is the main dancer (the main dancer of the group), support vocalist and support rapper
Sana (Japanese) has red hair (my favorite) she only has the title of vocalist but many agree that she should be one of the dancers because she dances very well, and nowadays she also sings a lot
Jihyo (Korean) is the one with black hair with a ponytail, she sings the second part of the chorus, she is the leader of the group and the main vocal (main vocalist) and has also been excelling in dance lately
Mina (born in the USA but raised in Japan) is the one with black hair who sings the slow part sitting on the throne, is a vocalist and lead dancer (the second main dancer) even though some think that nowadays this title should belong to Jihyo or Sana, but at the time they debuted it was given to her, she also tends to sing a lot
Dahyun (Korean) is the one who sings on the counter doing the microphone brush, she is lead rapper (second rapper of the group) and backing vocalist
Chaeyeong (Korean) is the one with short blonde hair, the first to appear sung and winks at the camera, she is the main rapper, she is the backing vocalist but lately she has been improving her vocals a lot

usually you can take some facts about kpop idols with a grain of salt but jihyo's training years are not exaggerated, there is footage of members from older groups playing with her when she was a kid

Tzuyu is prounced as chewie and her and Chaeyoung are both the maknaes
Old twice and new twice are very different. Old twice felt like a younger updated girls generation. New twice is far more its own thing. They set the trend for 3rd gen and keep pushing it forward.
This is also my introduction to Twice-figured I would finally check them out since you’re doing a video for them😎not sure why I kept putting it off… I think they just seemed like the kind of girl-group music that I wouldn’t really be into… still not SUPER into it, but I can see why they’re so popular🌸

Why are people not talking about "cry for me" it's still my favourite performance video... I really love twice and cheayoung is my Bias so I also really love "FANCY" and please watch "Celebrate" their latest release to celebrate all 9 girls renewed their contract at JYP. You can also check out the teaser video for their comeback "between 1&2" they have a really cool mature spy look amd offcourse a lovely Sana moment. 4 of the girls also did a special stage where they performed "MOVE BY TEAYOUNG" and it's amazing. Some girls did also do a small dance practic with Kiel Tutin also really lovely ❤️ twice is an amazing group with a concept that fits the age of the members some older songs are more cute and the music evolves when the girls get older!
