I worked for a guy who had a second farm that once upon a time sold black market meat during WW2. Apparently the place continued to draw out low quality people even after the farm was sold. One day we needed to get round bales from the back of the field during hunting season and there was a car we didn't recognize parked in the lane. We grabbed a log chain and the 4010 and dragged it out into the middle of the road and left it there. Never saw that car again.

We know some folks who own some river front Acreage. A local guy asked if he could swim and fish and use their access. So they said Ok. later when they went to have a family outing. The place was covered in litter. trees had been cut for camp fire wood. and about two dozen people where present even a couple of tents pitched. And when they asked the people to leave. They where told that the the local guy had given them permission. They had to get the law to come and make the people leave. So they erected a sturdy locked gate across the access road.

Back in the day my family struggled big time with trespassers and hunters. It was like the wild west. Stealing lumber to build tree stands, fires started probably from cigarettes, you'd confront them and they would be threatening you. Got to the place we had to be armed. Went out every day patrolling. Has calmed way down thankfully, but you can never rest. Always need to watch. We have cameras everywhere too.

I have 2 acres on a river in west Michigan. Saturday a group of kids wandered through from a nearby neighborhood. I happened to be working on my deck rebuild project and I was about 50’ above them up the bank. My wife said aren’t you going to say anything? I said, they’re out of the house having fun not doing any harm it’s better than gaming. I do see your point though with hunting land.

Farm I bought in 2017, had been used as an offroad park by every ding-a-ling in the neighborhood, 247, 365. Previous owner, my much older distant cousin, allowed it. I was ok with it at first, but after cleaning up trash, having trees run over, people driving up to me with a bushel of my apples and a grin, asking if I wanted to buy any, people asking why I was out there, who I was, people getting in the way of MY work, literally waving for me to stop spraying my trees so the procession of side by sides could go through without getting covered in insecticide in the middle of 137 acres.... I couldn't take it anymore, posts went in, signs went up, all of a sudden I was Norm at the local bar at lunch time, everyone knew my name, "hey buddy, I see you put signs up, that's not for me right?" If you are just now asking, yes, for you especially. My cousin even told me I was wrong for doing it and some of the worst offenders are my older neighbor farmers...
I feel your pain, good luck man!! Got my stress up just listening to you talk about your issues.

Columbus did not discover North America (it was already occupied for thousands of years) and he landed in the Caribbean. Also of note, he was funded by a Catholic Queen, but the expedition had no Catholic priests or monks, but one of the navigators spoke Hebrew. Interesting😢

We have our three acre corner fenced with 6 ft tall chain link fence. And I was driving truck and Debbie had a desk job. So if the semi was gone. and she answered the phone. Tresspassing thieves still came on our place. They simply stole the game cameras. Besides the law judges & prosecuters here are corrupt. The chief of police his wife was dealing drugs from the municipal judges office. The prosecuter mailed someone a live poison copperhead snake. They aint gonna prosecute tresspassers. So We got a mean Jersey bull. and that worked very well. Even I couldnt go back there. I had to lure him into a corral with sweet feed. We had to get rid of him when the grandkids where born. afraid of what might happen. A mean billy goat would work also. We are working on growing a hedge in the premeter fence around our other acreage. Planting Osage orange and False orange and letting briars and blackberry vines ect.

One time after my dad had run the same guys off our land twice in the same day he was able to get the address of one of,the perps. He told the guy he was going to show up next Sunday with a bunch of friends and have a bbq on his front lawn. The guy replied “to hell you are, we’d call the police if you show up.” My dad said “you’d best be going now because I just called the sheriff and he’ll be here in 15 minutes.”

So turn RF gain off and still get 7 to 9 singal to ! But heard 2 guys talking about hunting deer at night so went from Machinery shed were radio setup and had to house to get my dad and uncle listen on radio and this after 12:00am in morning! So listen also my dad also uncle said think guys on farm using handheld walk talkies and hear gun shots went off we heard it too! So uncle ran up to his house on farm and got cops involved and found 2 guys illegal hunting too! Fun part one guy was Main Gain Warden and other was Deputy Warden from my area both lost hunting privileges also guns plus deer shot and fined big time ! Plus No Trespassers Signs up too and but my dad & uncle said thank you for my CB radio base station setup and first ones ever caught up illegal activities at night and reward too got too! Funny part 2 guys had 2 deer each vechile got too and lost vechiles too!

In my state if it will float a canoe and it touches a road right of way, you can access it. And once they are in the water and their feet are wet they are legal.
They also consider the high water line to be state land, so you can own both sides of the creek, but the state “owns” to the high water line.

Your constitution is second to none. Ours in Canada has serious holes and this last 2 years has proved that. Much of ours was broken with Covid restrictions and mandates with no level of accountability for any violation of the constitution. Now you have private property and yes you have rights, but don't you also have liabilities? If some goofball drunk trespasser got hurt on your property, could you be liable? We've had a few encounters with trespassers. We've caught some hunting, snooping, and even stealing tractor parts. My mom caught someone trying to pull a throttle lever off a running W-4. You have to deal with them.

Enjoyed your walkabout. Doesn't Pa, have "open field" doctrine, where government officials have the right to trespass your non-curtaliage (close-in area around your house), looking for illegal activities (drugs, illegal alcohol, permit violations, etc.)?

    • @FarmallFanatic
      @FarmallFanatic  3 месяца назад +1

There has to be a crime suspected beforehand.. they can't just do reverse investigations...and go looking for a crime on private property. However, they do fly overhead in choppers

If the have ligit probable cause, they can get a warrent from a judge. When a gov agency suspects a crime, open field doctrine allow them to go on private property on their own. The constitution is designed to protect citizens from the government overreach. Ever see a cop that was not suspicious, but they need RAS of a crime, before arresting a suspect, and most cops don't know the law. 😢 @@FarmallFanatic

Hi Sorry I been busy I haven't said anything .As far as this video I 100% agree why people don't respect other people's property and people it seems to be hard to try to get the law to do anything about it .It is a civil here seems like in Kentucky and it maybe that there to .If you can do anything it's taking them to court but it cost to get a lawyer to take them to Court. You think if you got a camera on them and have no trespassing they would stay off but some will try anything. You know how to reset your password on trail cameras I tryed but can't find a way to do it if you know .I would appreciate it .If anyone forgot or didn't write it down your up a creek with out a paddle.

When I was growing up we had a few different animals get shot. It was hard for me to believe that a hunter could mistake a cow or a pony for a deer. I've even had bird shot falling around me and the hunters knew I was there. A few years ago there was one hunter who tried to chase my brother off my property. When he found out that I wasn't happy about it he left without saying a word. He was well known for his attitude and suffered a fatal hunting "accident" that nobody believed was an accident. There are too many people who think they have the right to go wherever they want with no regard for the rights of the landowners. That's why I have to have liability insurance on my land. It's for the possibility that some idiot will get hurt doing something stupid in a place they have no business being.

You mentioned Fish and Game and State Police, but how about your Sheriff department? Elected, constitutional law enforcement officers..... usually pretty rural focused. Sorry you are going through this -- I am too but for our 4 acre residential property in northern Virginia. We have entitled neighbors trying to set the pretext for an adverse possession claim against us for a portion of our land that they feel entitled to because it is on the other side of a non-navigable stream from our house and that runs through our land. At the front we have a small county stormwater easement for a pipe that runs under the road and the easement crosses the property line so they think that it extends in depth along the stream and gives them ownership of our land or something. Have fenced all we can without asking the county for permission to fence the easement. Looking at cellular cameras as well. So far just standard cameras with SD cards. We need to catch some video of them so we can legally eject them from our land.

Back when I first started hunting there wasn't that much posted so on some cases would hunt there if it wasn't posted if I knew it wasn't a problem. Yes I have got on property by accident more than once usually if where I was hunting wasn't marked. But today its more important than ever to obey the laws now that there is cameras and cell phones out there as too many people ruined it for others!
