I installed Ecoflow Powerkit which I purchased from Freedom Van Go. Added 3,150 watts of solar on my 34ft Avion Travel Trailer last June. I have 15kw of batteries and run my air conditioner on the system. Live full time in our rig. In the over 9 months I have not plugged into shore power or a generator. Totally off grid. Full time. Love my Ecoflow Power Kit!
Your timing is perfect Grant! I purchased the PowerKit in August last year when it came out. I just got my van a month ago and tonight I was planning where to mount everything. The hub needs 4" of ventilation space on top, bottom, right so I need to plan for that. I've never seen the two 5 kWh batteries stacked with the straps. EcoFlow always shows them secured to the back when stacked, or using the straps but the batteries side by side. Good to know they can be done this way. Thank you so much!
Whatever way you do it make sure there is good holding of it. The customer will be moving them so it was just temporary. Always make sure you stabilize the top battery
For the included alternator Plug wiring harness, if you already have wires pre-run to your alternator (from previous build) can you just cut off a 2ft pigtail from the Ecoflow connector side, and use inline splice terminals with heatshrink over them to reconnect?
Hi good evening does the system has 48v and my sprinter van 12v can charge to 48v battery? Do you use 12v system on the van? How much is the system cost thanks!
Rather than connecting to the starter battery, if I am removing my auxiliary battery, can I use that connection point for the alternator charging connection to the ecoflow?
Nice video. Would have been nice to show more cable routing to the battery like where’s it come down from ceiling and where’s the cable on the floor? Also what size and watt panels did you use for 10kwh?
Because of the wide variety of van configurations and options it's too hard to say, do it this way, and that not apply to someone else. For solar, you use as much as you can physically fit on the roof. That is always the answer.
Nice! Thanks for the video! Dumb question…. If you wire the alternator charging to the starter battery and ground under the seat how does it know to only charge when the van is running? Guessing something ties into a ignition on /engine running to trigger the charging?
@@FreedomVanGo Awesome videos! Do you have any detail or video footage of hooking it up to the battery or alternator? It's the only part that makes me nervous and I can't find any detailed info anywhere. Thanks!
The installation looks great, but I find it difficult to justify the high cost of EcoFlow. It's definitely a luxury product in the solar industry. Thank you for sharing the informative video!
One thing I’m not seeing here in your installation, in the manual itself, nor in the quick setup guide is whether or not a chassis ground is indicated. Seems like the thing to do ALWAYS but this system is so engineered and proprietary… then there’s no mention or wiring diagram indicating a chassis ground connection. I know there’s a stud on the power hub, and grounding is a best practice in most cases, but this a strange omission. What gives?

Awesome to hear it's working great!!

@@FreedomVanGo Understood. Will do.
Very well put together! These kits are pricey but awesome for ease of install.
Clean as a whistle.. nice work Grant.. very nice..
Nice work and a very detailed explanation 👍
Do you guys use fuses with the solar panels? What’s the max amp input you can have per pv input?

Did you guys for parallel solar install to make 12v 400 watts
If it maintains the panel voltage than its parallel, if it combines voltage its series.

actually yeah, would be the ideal situation

Does the alternator hookup also charge the starter battery?
No it does not

Senses increasing in voltage to indicate the alternator is engaged

just gotta go for it and connect to the battery!

@@FreedomVanGo Thanks for the encouragment! Just a 100 amp fuse it looks like it says in the manual. Thanks again!
Is there a fuse that you recommend @freedomvango
What are the space requirements for each component (inches ³ please)?
The manual has all of that data you can find on the ecoflow website
Can you use the 80 amp CCP and a Ford Transit for alternator charging? The specs max out at 60 amps. Trying to figure out how to wire this kit.
You can, yes! Just make sure you hook it up per the BEMM

Ironically it's a budget option in the scheme of things!
Victron or EcoFlow?
It's not an either or. It's an application and budget consideration. Both have pluses and minuses.

Grounding is best practice but not really required since all grounds go back to the power system.
Is the 48 volt air conditioner wired directly to the third battery input port?
No idea. we dont use or suggest 48v ac units currently
