I have to say the new illustrations are a great improvement, his skills have increased since the original was released. I have one of the older paperbacks and had done one page when he announced the hardcovers.. I decided to buy one but I just can't with the hardcovers.. they are just awkward and difficult when I color on my lap, compared to my paperbacks which are spiral bound so they fold over and lay flat. I gave it to one of my co-workers. Now I have to decide if I'm going to replace my paperback.. I guess I need to go to his website and see if I can find a full flip of the new version for comparison. I'm also debating whether or not to buy them locally from the US or import them from another country with better paper and print quality. Too much fuss for a coloring book, but when you have been doing it for a while you realize just how much work is involved in completing a book.. so it may be worth the investment.

Yeah, I understand the whole paper issue with US Amazon print, it’s a real shame there is so much difference in the paper quality. Though I think by comparison we pay a little more in Australia for the same book too - so the paper quality might be a part of that. I have done a quick flip through so I didn’t actually do a side by side comparison (I was on a tight timeline unfortunately) but I like the new book a lot.

I like this one. How does one know which is the first original version and which is the second? I don't have any of his books but I do like this one ...I have looked at flip throughs of this before but I think it was the first original version. On amazon u.s. there is a hardback that has 2023 release and the soft back version is 2021 release.

I can make some enquiries for you, I’m not sure if Amazon will phase out the original version and only sell the new one. Let me see what I can find out for you.

Nice to see the new version! I don’t know what happened but the sound fades in and out a little in the video. I thought it was my earbuds playing up but it happened when I listened without.

@@catherinechinoy2774 it may be when I was reaching for things?….I have a very limited set up, I will try to remember that for future videos, thanks for the feedback.

Lovely illustrations but I'm not such a fan of the Amazon paper.

Yeah, I understand that! US Amazon is definitely worse than Australian Amazon, the Oz version struggles with the amount of water I use (and I really do push it!) but is good with everything else.
