This is my second favorite page in the book, the first being "take me to your leader" with the little aliens who crash landed into the dollhouse and are trying to communicate with the cat. He comes up with the cutest most unique ideas.

Great video Jackie , most of my wips are really abandoned pages when I get stuck or it goes wrong and I think it’s ruined .

Regarding a darker yellow brown in the prisma, try bronze. It's presented as a metallic but it's really not, its a very nice brown with a different undertone than the rest of the normal pencils. One of my most used once I realized it wasn't really metallic.

I so enjoyed these videos Jackie. I think the colors are great, and I'm edging toward getting some alcohol markers now that I see how you're shading and all. I like the incorporation of the pencils to finish things off. Wonderful outcome!

I think it turned out really good. The white pencil really made a difference, so effective on the windows and the mirror. Your choice of colors worked out very well indeed.

Oh Jackie! I was so thrilled to see you were going to work on the elephants, and then heard my name mentioned! Thank you!! It was such a fun video, and I'm so glad you used the alcohol markers as I still haven't gotten a handle on them. The page is coming along great, and can't wait till morning to watch part two! By the way, I haven't found any of your videos redundant or anything. I've enjoyed them all.

Hi Jackie! When i start a page i don’t start another one, except Mandalas. When i got stuck or bored or whatever and i want to color, i pick up a Mandala or a intricate color by number page. My brain is not happy when i start more than one page at the time, i don’t know why. I am verry organized maybe thats the reason. Sometimes i abandoned coloring a while when i got stuck with a page and doing another hobby. I have two tiny coloringbooks with a lot of pages and those are my practice books and i force myself to finish those books before i pick another one, and i have a lots of coloring books still waiting to be colored, weird isn’t it? You let me think about it……

Thank you Jackie! So much to think about! I have a combination of everything you talked about…but mostly, my wips are because I get bored or unhappy with how the page is going. I am also easily distracted by new books! Your Millie Marotta pages really resonated with me! Like your Millie Marotta books, most of my WIPs are in the first books I purchased - Johanna Basford mostly. I think that the discovery of different artists that I enjoy more is why I have abandoned so many pages. I think my solution is to embrace those WIPs as learning, and focus on colouring what I really enjoy - which I typically do finish. My colouring time is short and I want to enjoy every minute! I have never treated my books as “precious” and I don’t have a problem working in any of my books. I’ve decided to only purchase books I know I will love. I got caught up in the early part of the hobby which was purchasing ALL the books. I’m very much like Maia, I have lots of pages on the go and finish my favourites. Thanks again for doing this video Jackie, I see that I’m not alone and I am going to embrace the way I colour and just keep enjoying my colouring time (which is never enough right??) Posting on IG is an entirely different issue! LOL. But I am going to put some of my work up soon!

Hi Jackie, great to hear Hamish is out and about with you again. I think I'm too much of a newbie to have wips, i think that must be further diwn the path ( follow the coloured brick road) for me. At present I fly by the seat of my pants - and generally prang into a low tree branch or stop sign, and there was once an incident with a barbed wire fence - wait what was i talking about? Oh yeah, kinda stumbling from one disaster to the next, and attempting to learn on the way, I do find I like to have several pages going at once though, something for 4am that's well started but needs pencil, something for after lunch that is water basing or otherwise messy or will need clean up or drying time, something simple to just put colour on at night eg a mandala or background. Loved watching you colour. Now heres a question from a tropical dweller who hates snakes. What is the best way to rework them into something else on a page? To me it feels like even stopping to look at a page in a book with one in it will conjure one up for real,nand put my fur babies in harms way etc etc.There must he some way to banish them from a colouring page. That panda page is beautiful, except for that one thing. Would love to hear ideas.

I loved hearing your thoughts on wips. You know from the past that i always have a few going. I agree with you in that some pages/books are just abandoned. We grow and change over time and thats perfectly fine. 🩷

This book is very cute. I have his Lost and Found; now I want to get this book. Our Amazon U.S. paper is really thin, therefore I would love to see you color a page in this book with alcohol markers, so I can get some ideas from you.

Hi Jackie, I really enjoy listening to your thoughts and watching you color. Well, I have many WIPs, many abandoned pages and I don't care :). I consider myself a newbie (coloring for about a year). I color using colored pencils cause I want to get familiar with them and it took some time to find my favourite ones and to find my favourite artists too. I print or copy pages on my favourite paper, so I don't care if I spill my coffee and page is ruined :) I can print it again. I've learned to recognize I've learned something while coloring not due to finishing page. I get easily bored, so I switch the pages. Sometimes I don’t know how to move on so I put the page aside for a while. Sometimes it's the ugly stage and I need a break from the page but... I've learned to recognize that after a while, when I look at the same page again, it's not so ugly any more so I do not throw out this pages any more :D And more over when page is finished... I'm the only one who sees mistakes :) For me the worst time is when page is almost done. I hate this time... I want to see it done, but I'm bored and I want a new page. I have to force myself. About pressure of the instagram... Well, when I started to feel pressure of the instagram I quitted posting for a while. For some time I felt pressure about number pages I color and post, but I'm over this now. I can't rush. If I rush I make mistakes. PS. And I've learned to not care about my English-language mistakes, I'm not a native speaker so... it is what it is :D

Seen the finished page and it’s gorgeous 🐼🐼. I struggle leaving pages behind. It does bother me. Maybe because as a child it was drummed into me you can’t have a pudding without finishing your main?😅

I spent a month in Australia and New Zealand almost 30 years ago. We went there for our honeymoon & would like to go again one day, maybe after we retire.

I like having the second set of pages with a difference. It gives more opportunities to play with the pages. If I’m not happy with one or mess it up, I can try again. Someday I’d like to have all of them in the hard copy as well. Love RJ’s artwork.
