I've always assumed the absurd spaceship (with mustache and unnecessary rear view mirror 🤣) is a reference to Spaceballs. In that movie the characters travel in space via a flying Winnebago.
It's a "mustache ride"....obviously :D
I think that is a reference to old Bugs Bunny cartoons where there was a martian with this kind of helmet and a mustache.
There's a ton of references to different space-related pop culture, like Star Wars (as you said, of course), but also Men in Black, Total Recall, and others.

I don't remember if they said anything specific about the spacesuits in particular, but it's well worth a watch anyway :D
The 'Helmet ship with mustache' is a refenece to a klingon warship
the helmet (a prussian pickelhaube) with the mustache is paul hindenburg - WW1 veteran, german president during the weimar republic _and_ the guy the infamous zeppelin was named after.
I don't know where they get most of their costumes from, but some of them come off of Amazon (the helmets from the Electric Callboy vs BabyMetal video are available there).
I don't know if there is a deeper meaning to it but they do have a thing for moustaches. The 2020 ep MMXX (which included Hypa Hypa) containes the song Monsier Moustache, a re-recorded version of a slightly different titled song from their 2010 self titled debut ep (of course under their original name). And they rocked the pxrn-stache in the Hypa Hypa video.
I believe there is kind of an exception in copyright for cosplaying in regards to franchise characters, one better should not put her with this costume & make-up into an actual science fiction film outside of the official franchise.
"Tantrum" is a fictional energy drink from the How I Met Your Mother series, seems like "Tentacle Tantrum" is the intergalactic all-species compatible version. 😂

I think the mustache spaceship is just a joke referring to Hypa Hypa where they wore mullet wigs and fake mustaches. This somehow became kind of a trademark of EC at the time.
