This may sound stupid, but I like reading some of the moomin books in autumn. Through the stories I can feel the change of season, and the nostalgia of autumn while transitioning into hibernation. If I lived in Finland, I would live to take up knitting. There are so many nice wool yarns available in Finland and Norway
Thank you for your calming videos and for being so open about low and high moments. I can get overwhelmed with life sometimes and its very reassuring that I am not alone. I do like to treat myself when those moments arrive ☺
I love knitting during dark evenings, nothing fancy, but feels super cosy. I am very proud that this year so far I have managed to read 5 books and I have 3 more waiting that hoping to finish before the new year.

September feels like a new beginning for me. I make soups and stews so I can freeze portions, to have on cold days where I may not feel up to cooking. I also begin to bake more often, bundt cakes and loafs with plums, apples or pears. I enjoy the dark mornings, and turning on a few low lights, waiting for the sky to brighten. I bring out throw blankets for the sofa and each chair. Candles of course are a must. I 've recently begun lighting one candle while I have breakfast. It's a feeling of comfort for me.

I live on the Mediterranean and we have to wait a bit more for Autumn, Summer has been long so we feel fatigue.. The body and mind calls for a change of air and temperature. I just ordered Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh. I plan to swim well into the fall in honour of a dear friend who passed away. He swam in the ocean every year on his birthday, Oct 21st. East coast of Canada, not sure I will make it. 😊
Autumn is my favourite season too. I love making soups, stews and roast dinners and taking walks through the woods to see the trees changing. I was given perfume called 'Autumn Vibes' for my birthday this weekend! 🌲🍁🍂

I love Autumn! I love to snuggle up on the couch with a sweater, blanket, fuzzy socks, and hot cocoa. I love crisp fall hikes in the mountains, too. I have been wanting to learn a new skill lately, too. I chose watercolor. But so far, all of my paintings have been terrible. 😂 I am going to move on to something else, but I don't know what yet. Maybe I will try some fancy cooking like you do. Your videos are always so inspiring!

I recommend all the books by Kate Morton, an Aussie author, her novels are perfect for relaxing during dark evenings.

It's not specifical to autumn, but knitting is a good way for me to slow down and be creative at the same time. I knit before I start working, I knit to have a break and I knit in the evening to ease into the nigt before getting to bed ! I've been doing this for years and it's been doing wonders for me !

Lovely video. That cake looked fantastic. In the fall, I go out walking for about 2 hours a day and try and stop somewhere for a tea or coffee and read a bit. Sometimes it is nice to stroll in a park and I love to see the leaves changing. I have a fireplace burning logs on my television channel and at night read sometimes and put my logs burning on the tv, like having a fireplace. Some days I sit on my balcony and relax, as I have 9 pots of flowers to tend to and they are thriving in the cooler weather. I expressed this before to you, it would be lovely if you did a small cookbook on your recipes and you would make a wonderful food stager also. Your presentation of food is so delightful. I also go to vintage furniture and antique shops now for some reason and enjoy an outing like that in between the regular shops. Thank you for your wonderful videos, they are so nice to watch from Canada. They are very special. I am a Senior and they are so uplifting to me and are bringing me peace and joy.

My husband and I adore your videos and noticed you mentioned having health issues and feeling exhausted. We hope you’re over that health hump. Although I don’t know what you’re going through, I once had mysterious illnesses which included feeling lethargic and exhausted. I was advised to eliminate grains and lactose from my diet and a lot of my health issues went away. Your recipes look amazing - so I hope to make them in a slightly adjusted way. For some great atmospheric reading for autumn/winter lists I recommend anything by Raynor Winn: The Salt Path, The Wild Silence, and finally, Landlines (her latest). All memoirs, highly descriptive of her environment and a true tale of self discovery after life shattering events. Also recommend Wintering by Katherine May a book to truly make you see the colder months in a different way. X

Another lovely video! Thank you! Right now, I'm reading and loving "The Paris Wife." It's been on my list and shelf for a long time, but I finally have time to read it. It's a historical fiction novel, where the author imagines the real-life relationship between Ernest Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley Richardson. There's a similar type novel I read years ago that I absolutely loved -- that was "Becoming Mrs. Lewis." Enjoy if you read them!
