Super happy to own Aquanaut's Holiday for PS3, the very rare Korean version which is completely in English. It's an outstanding game, and I say that as a mega fan of Everblue 2 on PS2!
Its just insane how Tron bonne is soo much now when I used to see the game at literally every gamestop used for under $5. Nobody wanted that garbage at that time lol.
I got Kuon for the PS2 at a store within the past year. It was priced at $750, but I got it for like $300, due to various trade-ins and coupons. My actual rarest game though is a Japanese PS1 one, "LSD: Dream Emulator", which is like $750-$800 or so. I have at least 3 rarer consoles though, one of which is worth about 2 grand.
Suikoden 2 is the rarest game I own. Got it from a bargain bin at Walmart for $20, thought I'd give it a try. Last I read, it could sell for a few hundred dollars online. Loved it, played all 5 of the core games and am looking forward to Eiyuden Chronicles.
Yeah, it doesn't surprise me at all those games are difficult to find. I tried picking Suikoden 2 up on the PS3 store only to find out they have none of the games.
I'm really surprised that Ys I & II is considered rare for the PSP. I got myself a copy from eBay a few years ago and I don't think it ran me past $50. I guess it's just been a while.
He’s referring to I think the Special edition which is a variant that comes in a big box with a music CD. If excluding that it’s $120. The most expensive that’s just the game and doesn’t have a box is Legend of Heroes 3.
Dude what are you talking about from software was known way before the souls garbage. I hate the fact that like the younger generation just pretends that the world didn't exist until they flew out of their mom. Armored Core, Ninja Blade, Kings Field, Eternal ring, Otagi, Chromehounds, Metal Wolf Choas. The soulsborne games didn't make them famous it just pushed them in front of the eyes of the plebs.
@@jstyxx4110some of the best horror games I played are from 99 to 2007, I wonder how some of the people that play games today would handle Eternal Darkness and the insanity meter that would start changing TV channels erasing the memory card.
@@WheeledHamster A lot of people lol. That’s some bubble behavior, there are a shit-ton of people over the age of 24, and which have played all those old games, we just aren’t as vocal about it online.
The only "rare" games I own are maybe Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, and Star Ocean The Second Story R. The latter came out pretty recently but it already quite expensive. No one game is worth more than a hundred dollars though.
I have Fox Hunt on ps1 a FMV game. It was a very rare game even when it came out it was so hard to find. I found it one day at blockbuster and wanted to keep it but I took it back after a couple weeks. I ended up scoring it in 2008 for $50 and played it with my roomates and they thought it was hilarious. I found it one day and listed it online to see what I could get for it and got may offers up to $300. I'll let it go one day but its a special game to me because of how hard it was to find as a kid and I always liked FMV games.
I was on a little nostalgia trip a few years ago, buying ps2 games. Specifically horror games. I missed up on a case, disk, and possibly manual copy of "Ku on" for $40, and I cant sleep some nights thinking about it.
I got Kuon for free years ago from my cousin because he didn't like it (it's not a good game), Hounting Ground for 20$ at gamestop because no one wanted ps2 games anymore because ps3 was out, the best way to collect video games is when no one is buying them or the new hottness is out
for this reason hunting for these grails at an affordable price is half the fun. i have no issue with expensive games because its not all games its certain games that often deserve the asking price to be on your shelf and show it off to your jealous friends.
I'm surprised Tron Bonne is on here, considering it's only rare in certain regions, as i got it pretty cheap from JAPAN in near mint condition very recently. Devilman for example seems considerably rarer, as it was only released in Japan, and even in Japan it didn't sell very well. The only reason i know about it, is because someone i knew at college was looking for a copy of the game, and it was already worth almost $200 over 18 years ago.
It’s not. The reason why it shows up is because there’s some dumb variant due to some having a different publisher. You can get the other version New for 40. It’s a PriceCharting error.
PS3 market is still in the process of settling in, so whatever ends up being the most expensive one is likely to change over the next decade. I hope the cbomb issue eventually gets resolved, though.
@@Ivegotsomewater81 The game Painkiller Hell and Damnation is the same way. You can buy the alternative one for like $50 new but the one that’s different is about $250.
Rule of Rose UK version for ps2 is tremendously expensive. i got a factory error sealed ps2 game with the artwork missing. just a sealed up blue case. is it rare? or is it fifa 04 🤣
I bought Godzilla for ps4 a couple years ago back when it came out and it was a horrible game. No videos no sales, nobody knew about the game. So I sold it to pawn America for a solid 20, about 15 more than I expected… that excact same game goes for no less than 400 atm, it still hurts to this day
If anyone's looking to play Tron Bonn on ps1, it's still available on the psn store for ps3 for $5.99 ^^ Also another super rare ps1 game is likely the original copies of syphon filter 3 with the american flag. Haven't seen more than a couple on ebay at a time in a while and they're all more expensive than any of the games on this list combined
