It was an ambitious plan. Take on Downieville's Tower to Town route that would be 27 miles of riding and at least 3,000 feet of climbing. We'd be rewarded with 7,000 feet of descending and epic bragging rights.

Thank YOU dude! I can’t do this without ya.
I go to Downieville all time I love to see all the mountain bikers. And it’s refreshing to dive in that cold yuba River
Keep the editing, we love it!!
The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship has been such a driving force in north eastern Calif. in not only getting trails built but maintained. And I believe they helped bring the Grinduro bike race to Quincy.
Absolutely LOVE your videos!! Totally addicting!!
Met you while you were eating in town after this ride haha. Thanks for the pic! Sorry to disturb your meal.
You didn’t disturb me at all, dude! I get so much joy out of meeting you guys that watch my videos. Comments are great, but when I can shake someone’s hand and say thanks personally it’s the ultimate. I can’t do it without you.
@Maxwell Leffler stop self promoting

Your new guy here bro. Wish i could ride something like this trail. Technical trail but it looks so much easy with you guys. Ride safe...yeah!
You are one lucky Bastard. Living where you do and riding round the World. Really enjoy your videos too. From a Brit in South Wales.
What a Great Trip! I love ho you add in the little bits along the was, food, etc., Its always a joy to watch you videos. Cheers! My Bulls 29r electrified would be a good test on these as well.
Thanks so much!
Probably the most peaceful mountain video I’ve ever seen! Wanna ride once..😃❤️
Another classic Brian, great video
Damn, those trails look stunning to ride, inspiring me to get out on my bike more Brian!! 👍🏻👍🏻
That’s what it’s all about!
Wow amazing POV! Love the footage.
First off thank you for what you do I really love your channel I subscribed about two months ago and I decided today I would rent a Trailbike and hit a local trail in Hurrican Utah and I now found a new hobby so I just wanted to say thanks for inspiring me I am currently looking for a van so I can do a little bit of traveling and trail riding
Fantastic!! You’ll only get better and I hope you keep doing it!

Love the content... The original plan looked like an epic ride. Keep up the great work!
I'll make it happen next year!
The backdrop is constantly amazing, we don’t have mountain ranges like that here in Wisconsin. Nice ride
5:09 Hahahhaha 🤣🤣 you are fire dude! Keep going!
@Maxwell Leffler why dude
Awesome! Nice ride🥰love the sight🤩
Nice flow trail and the view from the top was awesome!!!
Wow... that’s breathtaking.
Holy crap mate this was good loving your vids don’t stop making them
Thanks bro!
Man your driving skills are mad, especially when we take into consideration gopro effect and what it does to speed and steepness of the trails. Just mad! Keep Up the good work! 🙂
When was he driving again?
Man this place Never gets old!! Awesome riding up there, next time I'll have to check out that new loop for the first time!
Yeah, you’d love it dude!
Your image quality is outstanding! Great work!
Thanks!
Been up to the lookout and it’s super cool. We were camping down by the lakes and decided to drop down from where you were looking down to the first lake for a swim. Hiking it btw after riding the day before on my Merlin XLM hardtail - back in early 2000’s. Think I pinch flatted 3 or 4 times. Amazing part is Forest Service had to pack all the materials in to build the lookout!
Haha that’s great! Love hearing stories from back in the day.
Love the new graphics overlay. Keep on trying new stuff! Looking good.
Thanks dude!

Stunning views 💪great riding so jealous 😣😆👍😎
Awesome views and ride mate!! Just how I like it :)
Loving these landmark tags. Always fun to see your videos production value consistently improving.
Thanks!
Amazing ride, man.. Nice vídeo!!!
Definitely loving the new style videos plus the location, Spot on 🤘👍 And with your bike, check the bearings in the
Pivot links don’t need regreasing as I had a similar noise for 6 months and it turned out to be just that, it was really hard to diagnose which is why it took so long 👍
Interesting!!
I like how with color you copied his logo. It's kinda cool looking too
Well... 😂😂 I had the colour scheme and a black logo since like early 2018 before I posted my first video but Brian then changed his logo to his current one so I changed mine round so it wasn’t so similar and I’m now in the process of giving it a refresh so it’s not so similar. 😂😂 Thanks anyway 👍
Breathtaking!
Oh man, I did Downieville last summer, man Go Pro does not do it justice! That trail is can be tough! Next year I am definitely doing tower to town! Great vid thanks for posting!
Most definitely a tough and rough go!
Omg your videos always make me so nervous that your just gonna like, crash off the side or something, but I can’t stop watching them
Haha, thanks!
Hi Brian ! Love the chanel ! I had this happen to me , the creaking was coming from the stem but at the handlebar end . Just cleaned it and that was it . By the way..... i loved the series from Québec being a Montréal native myself ! 🙂 Keep up the great work ! 👍 Stéphan
Whoa, very interesting! I could see it totally being the bar end, especially since I have the Ibis handlebars with the insert things on them.
That’s some crazy awesome views 🤙🏻 quality content bud
Thanks dude!
I love the thrill of your bike ride. Woohoo! 🚴♂️
Damn the really best thing about america is the beautiful landscape and trails. Stunning
Australian trails are beautiful too
Rad stuff Brian! The views were stunning and the trails down to town were super cool and spicy 🤩
Nice joke there as well! 🤣
Hahaha thanks
Sounded like you bike was getting hammered on this run. Good stuff👍🏻
Big time!
It's great place to ride. Nice video 👍🏼
I'm addicted to these now.
Spectacular mountains...ahhh these guys are on edge of disaster! It was a thrill to watch it in my living room on my training bike...otherwise a ghost bike on the trail😄
Holy crap the exposure on the sides...... you would need to remove me from my saddle with a spatula. awesome ride man. thanks for the adventure!!
Hahaha!
I had to go back and listen again if I heard what I thought I heard, yes, I was right 😂
Great Stuff Brian 😉👌 Some Nice View at the Top nice trails 👌😉🚴
Thanks Taffy
Lots of love from India.. I really love your videos 🥰 stay safe 🌻 brother from another mother 😊

Cool ride. I camped at the Buttes near where you looked down on those lakes. There are a bunch of killer, rewarding rides in D’ville if you just get weaned off that shuttle and commit to some sweat equity! You did that BC race! You can do this!
Best trail, very few ride it, you could even shuttle this one yourself or ride up Saddleback road or hiring a guide wouldnt be a bad idea either.
Chimney Rock: Try climbing right out of town on roads, past the graveyard(cool spot) find Sailor Ravine a fire road, keep climbing to Downie River trail(nice climb 3 or 4 miles). Keep climbing past mining claims, not horribly steep yet! Eventually the trail becomes Rattlesnake Creek, a double track jeep trail. Here you need to hike straight up, approaching a big ridge too, its brutal steep about a mile. You get to the beginning of Chimney Rock trail. Turn right. This is where all the hard work starts to pay off! But youre still climbing!! Eventually you get to the Chimney Rock itself, a knife edge ridge top trail EPIC (most beautiful!!) you can see 50 miles in both directions. Follow it past Needle Point, the high point
7100 ft keep going and descend on Empire Creek trail. Killer DH, you get to Lavezzola Rd near bottom of 3rd divide. If youre still up for more, loop to top of 2nd divide or just descend 1st divide and back to town for food and well deserved beers. This is an ALL DAY ride. Start as early as possible! Plan on being lost a little. One of the best rides ‘near’ D’ville, ask GregWilliams, THE MAN himself! Probably over 35 miles and 6-8000 ft climbing. Im not sure. We just went out there with a bad map, got lost and just did it!! I 1st did it in 2006 before there was much navigation. The trickiest part was getting to Sailor Ravine. It wasnt marked well. I like adventures!! Ive been seriously lost all over the area!!
The next day, when youre fried, do this:
Make a loop of Fiddle ridge and North Yuba trails. This one climbs to no more than 4000 ft elevation so it wont kill you. Make sure to ride Halls Ranch to Fiddle ridge in the westerly direction and North Yuba heading east (up stream) towards D’ville. 25 miles total, mostly singletrack, with about 5 miles on Hwy 49. This is a real fun ‘easier long ride’ Lots of exposure to big cliffs along the river. North Yuba trail is now extended to D’ville from Goodyears Bar I hear.
These are my 2 favorite rides near D’ville SO FAR. Shuttling is fun but THESE are true rewarding rides!! And you save money for beer!! You truly get the feeling how awesome, epic and huge this area is. You will not be able to stop smiling even when youre way beyond exhausted on your 5th wind! I guarantee it! Big Boulder is cool as is 2nd divide and the entire Lavezzola descent, ultra fast!!
If you have a 4 wheel drive, a real one, with a low range t-case, no Subies! I highly recommend checking out Poker Flats(a mining ghost town)but this would be a BRUTAL sick XC ride from D’ville. Ive heard something about ghost miner’s banjos playing out there!! Its in a deep canyon, mostly loose ripped up jeep trail when we went. Trippy place to camp in the fall after the miner/squatters leave for the season. Some of these guys are cool, some are pretty crazy (gold fever is real!) so keep your cool out there!! Most of these guys are packin’
Oh man! So much good info. Thanks Rat
That’s a big day, can’t imagine what the real tower to town would be like!
Haha seriously, it’s gonna be tough!
Beautiful and terrifying lol
One slip and you're done, but those views 👌
WOAH! Now that's epic!
That was such a fun day of riding. Next year we'll get the entire Tower to Town. The video came out great and I am glad you got my best riding in the video and none of my crazy sloppy moves. LOL
Hahah hell yes, we’ve gotta go for another attempt!
Big ride and big cajones for giving it a go! Way to get after it!
Thanks my man!
Cheers mate a very well done video.
Thanks Bill!
The ride down looked amazing. Going up had me exhausted just watching haha
@Maxwell Leffler why
Your so good at this man
Cool graphics in the video, makes it higher quality nice job!
Thanks Sam!
Yep, ridiculous exposure for sure, love the views along with the after ride swim! The waterfall looked very intimidating, for sure.
Man, always a few intimidating places, even though I've ridden them all 15+ times now.
New editing is sick. Keep it up!
Thanks bud!
You never know,Brian. It could be a dry Winter here in NorCal and you can do Downieville again. Love your new map graphics.
Most definitely possible! Might need more daylight though!
Love your new bike Brian. Sure would love too ride with y'all sometime if you ever come too Cleburne,Texas...
Thanks dude!!
Good trip.. I like it.. I hope someday i will be there with my bicyle
That was an awesome bike ride
Lovin' the new way of adding additional infos to your videos, keep 'em comin'! And regarding those annoying creaks, have you thought of your top cap bolt? It might need a bit of grease. It might also be from your cables hitting each others or maybe your chainring moving ever so slightly under load. I cured mine by adding some kind of retaining compound as per Park Tool's suggestion in one of their videos. Cheers!
Glad you like it! Man, lots of possibilities for the damn creak!
Wow that looks like blast 🇺🇸
@Maxwell Leffler no I will not support your brothers channel! Why would I do that if you are spamming it! I literally just reported you for spam on my 20 alt accounts
Awesome Riding !
Aaron is pretty ambitious riding a Megatower out there in the climbs. That is some pretty trail country Brian, thank you for sharing!
Haha, you gotta keep it beefy!!
Good stuff. And my mom is a good girl and always has been!😇
That was pretty intense!!! Well above my pay grade/skill level. Outstanding video!!!
@Maxwell Leffler ok stop it's a annoying. Nobody will want to at this point
Most of the trails are really rough and rugged with some steeps but they're mostly not that scary. Just make sure your brakes are in top condition and you're prepared for flats snd breakage. There's over 4000 feet of descending on the 'shorter' runs. Lots more if you're an xc explorer like me. There are definately some intimidating big cliff exposed trails near several of the rivers in the area so be very careful there.
Your videos edits just keep getting better. Like the visual tags early in the video! "loose like you mother" lol
Thanks dude!
y'all are crazy, I love it lol
i bought my first mountain bike and i needed to see what i’m up against and this video came up. I was not expecting this
Your videos rock... hate it when my bike creeks. 👊💪
Whoa, those markings from the 1800's are really cool.
Yeah, makes the whole history come alive!
If you look closely at the bottom some of the initials are from the 1500's!
First video I’ve watched from your channel, already wanna watch more. Also what type of bike do you use? Keep up the good work!
Rode the 27miles trail last year, epic adventure. Tried to this year but it was covered in snow in July.
Nice!
Man your video quality while ripping down the trail was sooo smooth! What is your video setup? I would love to rock the same gear on my rides! Thanks!
The sky is so blue ❤️
What a nice view ❤
Awesome 🤘
epic! how i wish i have a bike like that
that was intense !!!! real nice !!! ;)
what a wonderful place :D your videos are veeeery goood :D
Good choice for first scene. That's what made me pause the video and exit fullscreen mode just to hit the like.
Haha awesome!!
I read the tile and I knew by default that Barquist was going to be a part of it!
Hahaha yep, we're always getting into in some hair-brained schemes together!
Really cool video

Yea, I had to go back and listen again because it was so out of character with the channel!
