Oh I so agree, I don't like it at all when books seem to have supernatural/ghosty stuff going on and then it turns out they don't! It's awful! That's why I never liked RL Stine books as a tween, he did that all the time and it was so annoying lol. The scary thing was never really happening. Ugh.
You were talking about Gut Reaction and I was over here like, "I need a middle grade book where the parents DONT die, please...." and then you said what you did. 😂
My favourite read this past month was Enigma Girls. It's middle grade non-fiction about the young women (mostly still teenagers) who worked at Bletchley Park.
Not Nothing was sweet! I’m working on reading Bletchley Riddle (amongst many other books) right now. So many good, new books lately!
I loved Mary which I read in January. Nestlings was my favorite read from October and now I can’t wait to read Rest Stop!

Not Nothing is going on my list! 😳♥️

Why is that such a common trope? There have been so many. I need good parents who live!

Oooh! That would be a great read-along with The Bletchley Riddle!
I only read 5 books in October, which is way less than usual for me. My favorite was How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying.
Oooh, I've been so curious about that book! It sounds really fun!
@@ARRRGHSchooling It was fun. I'd say it was very true to the vibe you get from the blurb.
