    Works great so far but I had to figure out a few things. Screen appears to be installed upside down in the video; the top side should appear darker and the cable shouldn't require a twist to make the connection. Board bracket was installed without spacers in the video; these should be installed to allow more room for the power connectors. The green power connecters are not labelled and the placement is moved around on the new board; before disconnecting the old board copy the labels from the board to the connector.

    Ok... I have a tip: after installing this upgrade, you must select the "ELEGO MARS 2 PRO" printer in the "Chitubox", only with it you will be able to slice the piece in ".ctb", which is the necessary file for the printer to identify.
    IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE, just choose the correct printer in Chitubox.
    In the video there is a link to the website with all this information, including the adjustment of the printer's Z axis. (may need to adjust)
    Another tip is to use the spacers of the old motherboard, to have more space to make the cable connections. In the video it doesn't show.
    Another tip, in the video the LCD was placed upside down, the right side is with the copper line up, so you don't need to twist the LCD cable, it fits perfectly.
    Finally, I'm very happy with this upgrade, my prints are much faster and more accurate! It was worth the investment. Thanks so much for reading.
    .
    .
Valeu a pena o investimento. Muito obrigado por ler.

    for anyone having issues with the endstop and the z not stopping and forcing the display/engine. A simple solution that worked for me.
    Just go to the pin that closes the endstop laser and pull it down a little, then you can do home normally and the home beeps and z=0 will work. thank you Rafael Nouga for your comment, paved the way to solve part of the problems.

    not clear to me where the green plugs go or which way up the screen is.
    figured green out going at 1/10th speed, but the screen part is impossible to see, and the operation is done in darkness, no pixels to enhance. would not recommend this upgrade to anyone due to bad instructions

    OK…I got it working on my first try. Took me a while to figure out the right side for the LCD but by looking at the video, my version of the screen had a small copper strip on the top. And plugged in the green plugs in the correct order by slowing the video way down. For the firmware, it says if you replace the board and screen (which is what came in my kit) then no need to update the firmware...the current firmware on mine is 4.4.3-c2. Also, I'm guessing I installed the V3 board...but due to the wiring changes, it was a little more difficult to get it in...I think I should have used the spacers that came with the old board to attach the L bracket to the board - that might have given me more room. But the speed is much better…a print that would take 7 hours is now down to 4. The only tricky part is that the LCD connector strip was straight and so I had to twist it 180 to get it to plug into the board. In any case, pretty happy. Note that you’ll need to convert your files to the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro format and use that for the settings is you use ChituBox for your slicer. Happy to answer any questions.

    I just installed this kit, and boy are the instructions (and this video) horrible. You should be using the spacers that were originally used with the motherboard. They don't mention/show the fact that you have to re-terminate both fan plugs from JST XH 2.5mm 2-Pin connectors, to the green 2 pin terminal block connectors (included with kit). Like so many others say here, you do have to twist the lcd ribbon cable 180 to plug it in, but if you look carefully it's in the video. The fit of the LCD to the chassis is not very good, especially on the ribbon cable side which leaves a slight gap. Lack of back support around the LCD edges adds some flex to the screen that may be problematic without the hard glass protector plate above it like the original screen had. Also, the tape sucks. They don't show it, but you have to be careful how you tape on the lcd. If the tape extends under where the build plate presses down it could cause all sorts of issues with leveling, light bleed over, and even damage to your new lcd screen. This kit could have been designed a whole lot better than it was.
    After the install, I've had all sorts of issues. The new Chitu V3 board doesn't seem to want to acknowledge the boundaries of the Z-axis properly, making me fearful it's going to crush the new screen or burn out my stepper motor when it fails to stop at the top/bottom of the z-axis range. Also for some reason when I run screen tests, the print area on the lcd is nearly 3/4in smaller than the original on all sides, which leads me to think there is some sort of bug in the firmware. (I haven't had a chance to look for a newer firmware to try yet).

    • @Halicet
      @Halicet Год назад +3

      @@yongfeisun1135 yup got it all sorted (sort of), however there are two major issues I don't like with the upgrade. First is the screen test/clean functions don't light the entire screen as they should, but only a small area in the center. Secondly when you set the z=0 to a new height the home function should take you to that height so you can test that the setting took. Instead the home function zeros to the sensor alone leaving the plate tight enough to the screen to nearly break it even after setting z=0 to a new height . Oddly enough though... Despite these two flawed menu functions, the z=0 does work for the actual printing (I had to test this).. Also while printing, the entire area of the screen will light as it should, so the defects are just in the menu settings but don't affect the print. As for the top end z setting, I was able to set the height lower in the gcode of the v3 board, and that fixed that issue.

    I got to be honest. You really didnt need to replace the whole motherboard. You could have easily given it a firmware upgrade. Even through sdio. And put in a middle man mipi converter for the display. The micro processor is more than capable.

No indication of which way up the screen should go. Very few comments and those are not helpful. Absolutely abysmal. I've not even tried a test print yet. @chitusystems5255 I figured it out eventually, written instructions are much clearer than the video and thankfully show the backwards screen install.
      My problem now is the included pvc tape and double sided mounting tape. The pvc tape around the screen as shown isn't holding it down and I saw no use for the double sided mounting tape anywhere.
      Are there better or updated instructions for securing the screen?

    • @chitusystems5255
      @chitusystems5255  3 месяца назад

      @@RustedOatmeal Hi, PVC tape is used to hold the screen. As you can see in the video, the PVC tape sticks to some edges of the screen and to the aluminum frame.
      About the double sided, you can stick it on the notch of the screen. It sticks to the edge of the screen to hold it in place.
