I got a flare-up today after a slow but long 25km group run today. It's been my longest run since I've recovered from achilles tendinopathy. During the run everything felt OK, but a few hours after coming home my achilles heel insertion became really stiff and it was even painful while walking.
I hope it's going to settle when I give it a few days of rest and good sleep. Conclusion: There's lot more strenghtening exercises I still need to do before I'm ready to run 25km!

How did u recover from it??

@@TheVkrant I recovered to the point where I can run without pain by: changing my shoes, doing daily foam rolling, doing achilles strenghtening exercises, working on my balance (standing on one leg) going to local cryotherapy of the heel, going to shockwave therapy. Also taking up yoga classes has helped. After returning to running, I always do a warm-up before my run!

If it was a new injury and the area suddenly got more swollen, is it a flare up or re-injury? Is it a good time to seek PT when there is still a lot of swelling?

Yes, it is a good time to seek PT when it is still swollen because they will be able to assess it for you and determine the level of your injury and what exercises are right to start with for your.

I had a partial tendon tear in my long head bicep/ brachioradialis big lifter gave it rest for 3 months went to physical therapy the pain is there still just not as intense. Finally feel better but just had a random flare up at the end of the workout progress in recovery I’m hoping?

If the workout made it flare up then it was likely too much for it's current level of strength. Best to get guidance from the physio who is helping you with your rehab.

First of all, thanks a lot for your channel! Really helpful information.
I am a mountainrunner who has been suffering from achilles paratenonitis. Cleaned out my diet, kicked the coffee, started drinking loads more water, shockwave therapy at the fysio last week. And bought a brace (Bauerfeind Achillotrain) And actually managed to run 32km last week in multiple sessions (All with brace).
Went for a run on monday (6k) with the brace, no pain, but felt a small sting afterwards. Next day I tried to run again but without the brace , but had to stop after 25 minutes.
Luckily later in te day I had to go to the physiotherapist for shockwave again, today i have no signs besides some stifness in lower soleus.
Would you consider this a flare up? What would your advice be in regards to the running (With or without brace). Thanks!

So what does your strength training regime look like? Are you doing heavy slow resistance (HSR) work using your calves?
