I have to say Chad does Great reviews. He is not a windup salesman puppet reciting the sale pitch installed in his hardward package, but a real guy who shows the good stuff and doesn't hide the perhaps not so perfect stuff. This is invaluable for a soon to be buyer. We will be buying a Camping Trailer the first part of next year and moving to Greenville SC. Buying it in Greensboro NC, which I used to visit, had never occurred to me, but Chad does such a good job that it reflects well on your firm and we might defer the Trailer till we are in the Carolinas. Lots of balls in the air, but your reviews are perhaps the best I've seen.
I’ve done a lot of research on RVs/campers. It appears the options are the way these things get really expensive…probably with significant margin. Lithium, solar, and convection microwave should be standard…especially on an off-road camper that’s meant for boondocking.
That got me concerned. Is that something that could break so easily? Will I have to adjust these in the future and could they break? I rather see another material that is not so delicate.
That was really discouraging to see the interior tinted glass shattered like that on a brand new unit @25:50 and @26:13. How much more would tempered shelves or starboard panels be to equip for Airsteam, maybe another $50 difference at wholesale. That was three out of the ten panes shown overall with damage and the trailer's still sitting on your lot.
The plug in the rear storage is to drain all the water that leaks through the back door when it's raining, a known issue since day one , and the new screen you showed already torn? I see the quality control from airstream is still non existent, what a shame
This unit needs a larger fridge with freezer, like 10 cu. Better outside door latch, door need to stop closer to the body.Design the cushion for the bed, into the center back rest, since most will not sleep in that direction. I can see many design flaws. You need to stop using college graduates to design, and get real life Rvers input.
So if the Basecamp 20x is ranked the #1 overall best seller for Airstream, is the Flying Cloud 25FB the #2 overall best seller for Airstream? Or is there another unit that is ranked the #2 overall best seller?
Yes, that's correct the Flying Cloud 25FB is the #2 overall. That may change. I kind of view the Flying Cloud 25FB as the number one for Airstream travel trailers.
Why are these things so poorly made? These manufacturers are light years behind their European / Australian counterparts in terms of fit, finish, usability, quality and durability. Yet, they want $65k for it? Imagine the damage taking one of them down a dirt road...
The problem with European and Australian manufacturers is that they have done a piss poor job of developing a dealer market in the US, the absolutely largest market in the world for recreational camping. You may see their quality decline when they have to produce for such a gigantic market.

Thanks, Chad! We can't wait to see more videos on the 2024 model year trailers!
You're welcome! I have more in the works already!
Just watched Patrick review the same. You both bring something to “the table”. Keep doing what you do- I enjoy both equally.
Thanks, will do!

Standard, meaning standard price, not premium.🤦🏾♂️
Glad it’s not lithium is a dealbreaker for me.
Great job Chad … I appreciate your honesty … you are not all “ rah rah “ … you point out your concerns about the product line . Good on you !
Thank you! :)
Sir, can I ask for your response to all the people who say this is way overpriced and that they can get a much nicer camper for cheaper?
There are many of reasons but the main reasons are quality and resale value.
Fantastic, thorough review, thank you! Looked at one today but didn't get a chance to look at every detail and feature. This was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Putting the bed out was fantastic, this really seems like a fantastic option, I am comparing this vs the Bambi 19CB.
I do like the 19CB has a dry bathroom vs the wet bath in the Basecamp. Other than that the Basecamp is great!
I'm glad you're in Greensboro. I'm in the market for a trailer and I live in your market. I'll be in touch.
That's awesome!! Thank you!!
were there any glass doors that weren't broken? 🤣
I don't think on this one. We got them replaced and adjust so that wouldn't do it again.
That got me concerned. Is that something that could break so easily? Will I have to adjust these in the future and could they break? I rather see another material that is not so delicate.
Great video Chad! Thanks! Cheers from Houston!
Thanks for watching!

I would like for Airstream to change all of the Basecamps to what they did in the REI.

thanks
I see a lot of ppl complaining can someone tell me what’s a better comparable teardrop camper ?
I want to know also, not being sarcastic.
You could like at Oliver.
What’s the price difference between the 2023 and the 2024 Basecamp 20X new? Also, what can you get a used 2023 for versus the new 2024?
I believe it was a 2.5% increase from 2023 to 2024. Shoot me an email and I can quote you for new and used.
Would love to see tou set up new tents
I would that too! I've never seen it in person!

can't wait for the reviews and hear what upgrades/changes will be on 27 Flying cloud & International Hood job on this review

Poorly made at premium price,is the American way. They make small improvements as the years go, already knowing what the issues will be.
The problem with European and Australian manufacturers is that they have done a piss poor job of developing a dealer market in the US, the absolutely largest market in the world for recreational camping. You may see their quality decline when they have to produce for such a gigantic market.
Not poorly made, you are off track on your comment.
@@jgyrwano that is not the American way. It’s what some greedy people are doing
LOL! Clueless
I’ll never understand the 80k price tag….NEVER! It’s nice. It ain’t that nice!
is this smallest Airstream or ?
The 16' is the smaller. Airstream makes a 16' Basecamp and a 16' Bambi!
@@ChadsRVReviews Thanks, will check the website. This channel deserves more subscribers
@@EagleWolfSparrow Thank you!
Ugh. Expensive shell, half assed interior. How many more ill fitting cushions can we design a cabin around?
Oh my god this is way over priced. Buy a cargo trailer and customize it to you liking for a lot less.
I have one. It is overpriced you are right. It looks cool but it’s the least functional trailer I’ve ever owned.
How is it the #1 seller? It is the only one most people can afford. And it's still over priced.
Omg he spent 20 minutes talking about the table!!!! 😣
Just fast forward. ⏩
Thank you! :)
What are you talking about with the power jack you get one cause you’re lazy. Not to add stabilizer bars you lost me in that comment alone
Makes it easier when connecting your weight distributions system.
Do away with nets above sink and stove. Those are made for stuffed animals, not camping . Poor quality storage areas. Way over priced..
Haha for stuffed animals! That one got me!
What improvements have been made in the new model?
I don’t have the c charger thing in my 2023 so that’s one
