Since it will pick up and repeat any campground Wi-Fi, will it pickup and repeat your cell phone Wi-Fi hotspot? If so this would work for us since we already paying for cellular service.

It would be amazing to have this power setup available in the 27FBQ International. My wife and I have looked at pretty much every model and oh boy that’s the one that hooked us on the product. We can’t even consider anything else. Yeah, I know it doesn’t sound balanced or healthy but that’s what it is. Thanks Chad for clearly explaining the drawbacks to adding a Trade Wind-style off-grid setup to another trailer model at resale time. Bummer about that. We will still order our 27 with a system close to the Trade Wind (less rooftop but adding portable solar) plus an Onan 2500i LP and hope that the demand for such a rig is stronger come resale time down the road. We plan on being WAY off the grid (Northwest Territories and The Yukon) for extended periods. It’s still worth it to us. Ask me in a few years hahahaha. Your videos are incredibly helpful; thank you.

Do you think they’ll ever make a Tradewind in the 27FB size? Also, would Airstream let you order the Tradewind 25FB with the front bunk?

Yes, the propane outside only does two things: the outdoor kitchen and the propane quick connect. If you do not opt for the outdoor kitchen and either don't use or can live without the quick connect, you can basically just repurpose that storage bay for something else. So your vehicle gas tank provides fuel for both the Timberline system and the Onan generator, which is really slick. *However*, the Transit fuel tap is designed so that nothing can cap off of it once the fuel tank drops below 25% (1/4) so you'll want to make sure your tank is fairly full before you do any extended boondocking. The draw late for either is pretty low (~1/4 gallon per hour) so with a full gas tank you can stay out a long, long time.

Did a side-by-side between this exact RV and a Transit Ekko just yesterday. I wrote up a long series of posts on the differences between them in the comments of this video (ruclips.net/video/HA9XRzzm3e0/видео.html) beyond the obvious ones that that video's author mentioned. The long and short of it is that Jayco/Entegra is including a whole bunch of things as standard that Ekko owners are spending a ton of money for aftermarket (the lift, a conversion to a normal dinette, suspension upgrades, a Timberline system, etc.) and made several additional design changes. There are some things where I think the Ekko is still a little better, but most of the differences are pluses in the Jayco/Entegra column. MSRPs between them are almost identical.

Wow! They went down to 30 lbs metal tanks instead of the 40 lbs Aluminum tanks like are in my 2023 model? That is a major downgrade.

I’m surprised that so many people buy this awful floor plan. The wobbly table is simply unacceptable. At this price point, all exterior panels should be matching stainless steel, and the levelers should be power.

Ok, so it seems that you need to educate yourself with Classic 33 features. Almost all of these features are on the 2023 model except for the entertainment system.

I personally think the caravels new interior is the BEST color palette of any of the other Airstream trims. It’s soft, light, cozy - with room to decorate to one’s personal taste. Plus fabric cushion covers is ❤❤❤ (but I’m not a leather fan 😅)

Hi Chad. Thanks for the video. Any issues you can see connecting a 7.2KW on board power system from a ford F150 to the 30 AMP plug. This way you have basically generator power from the truck acting as a external power source as well. Let me know what you think plz. Stef

I think there are 200-300 watt panels now that could potentially either clean that roof up a little or increase charging rates. 600 is still decent but 900-1000 would be better for these big batteries. A standard 120 15amp household connection will take 12-24 hours to fill these batteries from 25%

The GVWR thing pisses me off. Even without the hatch or convection from the factory, just the awnings, ours came in with under 800 lbs of payload (768 lbs). It’s ridiculous. I can’t fill all the storage they provide without going over that. When I asked Airstream what changed, they said the only difference was they “tested it” for the higher GVWR. But they will not go back and recertify the 2024s. I told our dealer I was going to be pissed if they came out with a new model with a higher GVWR a year of two later. Well looky looky. Quite honestly, this has burned me on Airstream as a company.

The assisting is a very nice feature. It allows you to use an inverter 30 amp generator and only require 10 amps from it. That will allow it to run much longer on a tank and fuel. Perhaps this is less efficient overall than just dumping 30 amps into the batteries, but I could imagine a circumstance where you're trying to conserve fuel in the generator and which case dropping the demand to 10 amps would be beneficial.
