The Starship system is a fully reusable, two‑stage‑to‑orbit super heavy‑lift launch vehicle under development by SpaceX. The system is composed of a booster stage named Super Heavy and a second stage, also called "Starship"

I personally think that if anyone can do it SpaceX will do it
agreed
10 years to Mars seems like a tall order, BUT, when I was born in 1959, the most advanced craft in space was Sputnik, and within about 10 years, we had men walking on the moon, so FAA willing, there is no reason we couldn't do it!
It sounds absolutely fantastic to me, Wil.Thank you so much for your updates!
Thanks for the continued support!
Woo-Hoo here's an algorithmic point for you!!
+1 YAY!
SpaceX should use the refueled starship to push its orbit as high as it can before reentry, to test higher reentry speeds..
Great show -Thanks for the update
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Apart from distance, Building a Mars base is more possible than the Moon.
Thanks for the update.
Any time!
Not satellite launches from the Moon. They're saying satellite launches from Earth will help pay for this. I think that means carrying satellites to launch in Earth orbit before departing for the Moon.
Good update. Thanks.
Great info, thank you.
Great episode I enjoyed it. I want to see SpaceX demonstrate successful reentry of starship. Also successful landing of either the ship or the booster preferably both. I still am troubled by the fact that the starship cannot abort on descent to the lunar surface. There needs to be a two stage, solid rocket option like Apollo had. Either that or land humans separate from the cargo and just used starship for cargo. Then build a two-stage lander to deliver the humans. You asked for some opinions so there you go...
Excellent stuff bro
Lunar base first allows them to work out any kinks, cuz rescue on Mars from Earth is not possible. But rescue from the Moon is possible as long as problem is not too serious.
100% agree!
oops forgot to edit out that cough haha
that males sense set up on the moon first
use the moon base as a fuel hub and space port to mars - no brainer
Much of the Lunar Habitats will need to be aubsurface. Ao expect Elon's Boring company to send up Drilling machines to create a tunnel aystem for connecting horizontal Starships on the surface to underground residential habitats, labs, forges, and greenhouse. The borers can also be used for searching for water and He³ resources for fusion power plants.
Starlink can be released in lunar orbit for communication to bothe Gateway Station and Earth. Satellites with Rediation detectors can act as early warning systems for hazardous solar activities.
All of these thing will take years, and hundreds of Starship launches to achieve a long-term permanent Moonbase Alphs.
Will they have another cold gas thruster failure/rud on ift4?
ooof hope not
awsome!!!
Thanks!
The power has to be nucellar because the moon night is 2 weeks long
Opened my new checking account to help support your work.
If I were Elon, I would immediately begin profiting from landing on the Moon by creating a factory which manufactures jewelry, trinkets, and works of art made from Moon rocks and soil. They would be instant market success, everybody wants real Moon rock earrings and necklaces. Just imagine the value of jewelry made from crystals mined on the Moon. It's literally like the Moon is made of rocks more valuable than gold.
Because it’s that easy
Why bring a tanker back, just leave it in orbit with all the shades needed to stop boil off, and use it as a fuel depot
AI and robotic systems will advance in the coming years to the point it will be practical to send many unmanned starships to Mars and establish an environment to support several hundred humans prior to sending any humans there. This will minimize the risk for loss of human life. For example, two or more spaceships could already be in place on Mars to launch humans back to Earth in the event something goes wrong with one or more spaceships expected to be used.
Let's gooooo
One full starship can take two others to lunar orbit.
Hey Will, not only do i think that if a lunar and Mars camp, but i think SpaceX are the folks to do it although between that and hooking up 2 ships for transfer i think they are a couple years early. But, gov. Get out of the way so spaceX can do thier thing.
❤
can they do all this in 2024?
At elon's space X pace it's doable
The GAO and NASA advisors are worried because SpaceX HLS Starship development is not followed their pragmatic, stage development timeline
Lets not forget that Elon want to build 1000 ships in ten years - 100 per year / 2 per week - once the factory is open this year .
So maybe 50 ships will be available for Moon trips in 18 months.
😊
The sooner the FAA issue a procedural license for starship, (as for Falcon 9) The quicker Elon's dreams become reality!
Super interesting subject matter!
When they train military pilots, they use small symbolic models to help focus the attention. It kills me that someone would go through the trouble of making a RUclips video and not even use a couple of pens to simulate "target" and "Chaser" vehicles. -- -- -- okay enough bitching; sorry.
Repurposing the one way Starships is going to be some fun engineering. Can make road making equipment out of them. Wonder how they will accomplish welding on the moon?
I would hope they would try at least two different ways to transfer propellant in space. One using the current Starship to Starship plan; and, the second, using a Falcon 9 Chaser to Starship Target plan. Even if it takes ten Falcons to equal one Starship, it would be valuable to know (1) how; and (2)why not..
One thing people arent grasping is, people. Will. Die. But, that happens, errors crap luck, not followoing procedures properly. Not checking your seals. The issue is institutions want pefection. That is unataiable.
I like to see the presenter, so I know definitely that it is not an AI voice !!
But what if I'm actually a robot?!
@@SpaceNewsPod If you were a robot you wouldn't be asking that question.
Unless he were an AI robot trying and succeeding to fool you!@RonColeArt
And if they successful transfer propellant, they're still nowhere near having those posts in space to even test for a manned mission.
How are they claiming IFT-3 success when it failed around 3rd or 4th stage and didn't even complete all planned tests? They're straight lying to us.
They'll launch every month though, they sure will. They've been launching regularly for many years and we're basically at square one.
Starship plans are nuts. How will people exit and reenter? The design is absurdly likely to topple should it ever reach the moon or test on earth... idk, so much not even ready to test for so many years yet, not sure why we even pay attention sometimes. Just keeping it real.
A lot of people will be very surprised and frustrated when Starship proves to be useless.
They will not do 15+ launches to refuel one ship... Won't happen! Why? Because stupid concept!
Wake-up!
