My order of these has just arrived and came on to let you know differences over the sg210's, no need now, haha. I remember mentioning the leather peeling early on with the sg210's. These seem a different grain I'd say. Went for velcro, normally stick to lace... but it looks like wrist on both is also an improvement. Padding slightly fuller perhaps? Anyways, buzzing to try them out. Definitely a company that listens to it's customers and I'm glad they've improved on the small issues I have the sg210's, including logo transfer I think.
Oh lol yea i saw you're comment on the Sg-210 and yes you mentioned cracking/peeling the glove. But between the Sg-210 and Sg-202 which do you prefer and wat specific improvements have you found in the 202 compared to the 210's. Also how have the 202 gloves held up so far after how ever long you've been using them?
Hey Carlo, thanks for always taking the time brotha, much love and success big dog. I'm looking for a pair of sparring gloves that can do it all. I'm looking for the ergonomics of Rival (or better if it's out there), a punchers glove silhouette (or close to it) slim and sleek being the focus, Decent hand compartment, and comfortable feel (broken in) and silky liner from the jump. From what I've tried on in the gym, myself, and seen from your channel, I've narrowed it down to three choices in no particular order. 1. Rival Guerrero Sparring Glove 2. These (Phenom SG-202) or 3. MK 1 Select Lace Up Gloves. Of course durability, leather quality, stitching etc matter to me, but the attributes I highlighted above are way more pertinent. Based on my life story here, which would you say fits my needs. Thanks again homie, good looking out. Edit: for reference about the hand compartment thing. I tried the Fortress SS 2.0 out and liked them, but ultimately returned them because of the hand compartment. Tbf I didn't break them in, but I tried other gloves (Like Rival RS1's) that feel good from the first try with wraps. The Fortress got everything else I wanted right besides the ergonomics and hand compartment. Profile was perfect though.
@@duubbyI went with MK1, but I can't compare to the other two because I haven't tried them out. I'm tempted to get all three. I usually had good luck with Carlo responding to me, this one of the off ones where he didn't sadly.
Hi, im a long time fan of the channel, but i have a question. The UK is having a sale where you can pick up venum contender 2.0s for about £13.50 (17 dollars). My friend wants to get into hitting the heavybag right now and maybe join a boxing gym soon, i've told him its the best glove he will find at that pricepoint, but since you're a lot more experienced with gloves, is there anything else you would say that could be better at that 20 dollar mark? imo he should commit to the venum's asap before the sale ends, but i'd love to know if there is an underdog brand i dont know about floating around that could be better value
Good review Carlo I'm leaning more to the SG-210 because of what you said about the SG-202 wrist area. Are you planning to review the Fly Bag Mitt in the near future ?
Thanks Carlo ive taken a few of your recommendations so far and you never disappoint. These phenom 14oz just arrived today and feel great for sparring and mitt work. Thanks for the great review.
@@csquaredboxing so you prefer the phenoms? I’m thinking about getting them but idk how long they will last. Can you punch better with the phenom than with the rival rs100?
What would you recommend in terms of better hand ergonomics and broken in feel these or the sg210? Also are these gloves a bigger and less compact glove than the sg210?
I now have both and can say that the ergonomics and broken in feel are pretty similar. If I really had to pick, these perhaps feel a bit like the sg210s did after a session or two, in a good way. It's as if the overall cut of the glove is much the same but they've improved padding, leather and wrist support. That's my first impressions trying them on anyway. I'll give them a bash on the bags tonight and return.
Thanks for info. We’re you talking about the sg202 when you say they’ve improved the padding and wrist support etc? And also are you able to tell which gloves are bigger from looking at them? Or did you order the two pairs in different ounces?
@@hugh2882 No probs. Yes, it's the sg202's that I believe are the improved glove. They do say on their website there have been some improvements in the description but it wasn't clear to me what model they were comparing them to. I got both in 14oz. My sg210's are lace up and sg202's velcro. The sg202's might be marginally bigger if I had to choose but it can't be by much. It's hard for me to compare the two right now as I've used the sg210's quite a bit, so are now slightly shorter and wider.
I think they are bigger around the wrist, what with the extra support and particularly with mine being velcro. But visually, it's not really a difference you notice. Yet to use them but will let you know tonight hopefully how they feel in terms of compactness. The sg210's felt tiny when I first wore them as I was moving down from 16's lol
Brooo I know it sounds insane but i cut off the sides of my hyperko2 and now it performs amazing Lol. Thought i’d let you know cuz the pain of that shoe is UNBEARABLE haha and now it’s my favourite shoe in my rotation
Hi Carlo, I'm considering these in 14oz, but I have read that they size small. I also have a pair of velco Reyes and lace Winnings, both in 14OZ that fit me perfectly. Is there any difference in size compared to them or should I size up? thanks !
I just ordered these in the same color (Velcro though) how long does shipping take? It says it's estimating it in December for me..... Update: hours after I made this comment the shipping updated and is actually being delivered tomorrow lol. Actually super fast considering I live in the US

Can you do a side by side comparison review between the SG 202's & 210's?
Yes please
Yes carlo I’m wondering which one is better? I like better the colors of the 202 but seams like the 210 its much better?
I got the SG-210S because they are softer and have a more broken in feel for sparring. Thanks for the reviews.
No prob
I I got the XDT-200's and I love the thumb's on these gloves over my Winnng's.
Nice
Same here and i have two 8oz’s, one 12’s and one 16’s and these thumbs are more comfy
