I don't want anyone in the cdm role who isnt in top 75% defenisve skills. Amrabat was rated high ball progression but in 30% defenisve stats. Progression means nothing if you arent comfortable with pace of PL in and out of possession.

McTominay doesn't have any defensive skills. He's basically played as a 2nd striker all season and thats the only role that suits him. Fred covers ground but is poor defensively@@98godofwar

I think Amadou Onana would compliment Kobbie Mainoo the best. His physical traits is what Kobbie lacks atm (he still has time to develop physically) but Onana would add that steel and height that we need in midfield anyway. I also think in a more dominant team (hopefully Utd) than Everton he'll be able to showcase his ball carrying ability. Plus, he's already used to playing in the Premier League so covering the ground and winning defensive duels would be something he can bring straight into the team, similar to Declan Rice at Arsenal.
Onana makes alot of sense because of the sheer physicality he brings but the no. 6 we want has to be highly technical and elite on the ball. This is because we aren't really looking for Casemiro's replacement but a profile similar to Frenkie De Jong. If we go for Onana, Kobbie has to play as a 6.
Yes, I think it is crucial our holding midfielder is good on the ball as well as strong defensively. Rodri wasn't even an out and out holding midfielder when Pep signed him. However, he could see the potential in him to become his next Busquets. Also, Arsenal aren't really using Rice as a holding midfielder anymore because they look better with Jorginho in the pivot. Hence why Ten Hag is obsessed with De Jong. Onana just doesn't fit that profile unfortunately. He is more of an 8. He could work well with Mainoo as a 6 though.
@@grocno796 It might not be the case of going for a pure out and out no.6. Onana is a hybrid of a 6/8 as he has those physical & defensive traits mixed with his ability to drive forward with the ball. Mainoo is similar in being a hybrid but his strengths are more with his ability to drop deep and be press resistant so both have 6/8 traits which is why I think they could compliment each other in a double pivot.
@@user-ig1ps2mr2r I hear you with the Frenkie De Jong point but we haven’t been linked with any FDJ alternatives. If anything, Kobbie Mainoo is our answer to Frenkie so I think we just need to get him a partner that can make up for his weaknesses as best as possible. And I do think Onana is more technical than people give him credit for and would improve in a better team than Everton.
@@kamto15 I think Ten Hag is keen to have an isolated holding midfielder. I agree that Mainoo would work best in a double pivot though or a more conventional midfield three like Real Madrid and Barcelona used to employ where the 8 sits very close to the 6. Basically I could see him in that Xavi/Kroos role. In the current set up, I do think Mainoo has more potential in the 6 than the 8. One drawback though is his passing range is a bit limited/conservative at the moment. A lone holding midfielder is required to spray it around a bit more. However, that might come with time.
For me Zubimendi is by far the best.

Teun Kopemeinner can fill that role perfectly. H's technical, strong ,and can do Evrything in the midfiel .defensively he 's just another CB . So he 's the best replacement according to me.
Kopemeinner is more of a attacking mid than a cdm he plays behind the striker at Atalanta. Ederson and De Roon play in the midfield pivots

Think you could also have added Florentino Luis from Benfica he ranks in the 95th percentile of midfielders for Pass completion, Pass accuracy, Progressive Passes, Tackles and interceptions. He’d be massive for us plus he isn’t hyped at Benfica so wouldn’t be as costly.

Hear me out, Ideal choice is jaoa Neves but for 100m we could get wieffer and Zubimendi. ive been watching some of Zubi's games and wow, im very impressed. He's exactly what we need
zubi has a release clause of about 60m
But the one thing we're lacking in casemiro is that he isn't a first phase player. What we saw against Everton will always continue if at all we can't try to build from the back and progress the ball, we're having onana, Evans, Maguire who can at least progress the ball upfront. For me i see we need kamara of Aston Villa as he's good as first phase player, calm on the ball even if facing his own goal. Instead of going for crushers who rarely and barely composed under pressure which will expose us and left with only one option of going long just like Everton did. We need control of games instead of waiting to counter even against weak teams like Everton and Fulham.
The good news is that a new board is being constructed under ineos. Ratclif made it clear that him and the board will decide which type of football to play but not the coach. Modern football is about entertainment to the fans, imagine united playing like city or Liverpool with the fanbase we're having. And i see why we brought in berada, now ashworth and Co , we need to play attractive football. Though it may take time to pay off but it'll will eventually work. Imagine our brand as a team playing and we play like City or Liverpool are doing, we'll definitely dominate world football and once again become a team adored by many mostly players. Look at arsenal at the moment, they're reaping from the time they gave to arteta. If tenhag is going to continue with his no identity football, then the door is wide open

Those guys are good options especially Varela and Hjulmand will really be an upgrade Casemiro replacement.but from a more tactical move and also considering budget and FFP

Not really a CDM but has played there like Hjulmand, but Joey Veerman I think has to be considered for United! A player that controls tempo and would be the prefect replacement for someone like Eriksen. Technically good enough for a Ten Hag team as well he’s exactly what United need IMO.

Part of the problem in solving United midfield woes is you and others always offer a solution with Bruno. Any solution should we look at should account for a midfield without Bruno. United have no business playing with a 10 in the first place. We should be playing with a 3 man midfield until things get calmer
To me it seems like if we were to go for someone who's a "destroyer", ballwinner or CDM type player, we should go for Onana, and have Mainoo (or Mount) next to him doing most of the progressive passing.
If we are more interested in a DLP type player we should maybe go for Neves. He is very much a 1:st reciever and also really good at defensive duties. But he's probably not a ballwinner all over the middle of the pitch. And he's also not gonna be hugely effective in the air (since he's only 175cm).
Both would cost an arm and a leg, but would improve us greatly.
I think I would prefer Wieffer thou. I think he would be much cheaper. And it seems like playing him could enable Mainoo to be more of a DLP (just like Onana would). But Wieffer seems like he would be better at helping progressing the ball compared to Onana. The biggest worry with him is if he would look as strong in the prem as in the eredivise.
Like all 4 options. My preference would be Palacios from Leverkusen. Out of these 4, probably Varela.

all that being said i am not sure mainoo and bruno can play in the same midfield. bruno is often out of position or loses possession and mainoo doesn't track back with great intensity. they will get outworked by most premier league midfields.
United need at least two first phase midfielders, valera is an 8 not a 6 united need two number 6 because i believe mainoo will develop to be an 8 in the future
Onana. He is big and strong, tall, runs like Bruno and is always fit.

The reason why must of our signings don’t persist is because we buy them and immediately put them in the first team and expect them to deliver like that , so times it takes time. We want Amarabat to replace Casemiro but we haven’t given him time to settle before we judge him
No it was a case of awful scouting, and panic transfer. Anyone watching Amrabat prior (sans a decent WC which should never be the measuring stick) and reviewing stats, knew he wouldn't work.

I used to watch alot of these potential player videos but stopped. Man Utd have been underwhelming in the transfer market and we will just have to wait and see what INEOS does. Also Ten hag doesnt seem like the coach to get the best out of players

Don’t know what’s happened to Casemiro. He cannot seem to pass the ball anymore or even win the ball without getting a yellow. He’s only in the side now because Ten Hag paid £70m for him. He’s part reason why teams frequently cut through the United midfield like butter

i think this might work, seel rashford, bring greenwood back on RW, shift garnacho on LW, also seel harry and sancho, then with that kind of money invest heavily in cdm, cb and full backs, and if any money remains buy some substitute for attackers. we are sorted then. also new owners are also gonna inject some money so it means a big budget, so this transfer market could be really good,

If we cash in on fernandes, get Wirtz and promote Fletcher to rotate there with Forson.
fernandes is class. Ofc he makes bad decisions but I think its because hes overplayed. Wirtz rotating with Fernandes would be ideal but we dont have infinite money and I want a massive overhaul if I had power. I'd sell him only because I want a young team, and Fernandes deserves a trophy which we wont get here soon and hes aging.
