    There is one thing that the Helbore lasguns have going for them compered to the other ones. The Charged shots are effective against armor. You can actually effectively headshot an armored Ogyn.

    Hello dangles been a while!
    For the bolter you can animation cancel the last part of the reload as when you swap weapons you always rack the bolt you can swap weapons during the reload and when its drawn again you'll only rack it once.
    Its also a tough choice for the last trait as both the instant reload and the extra ogryn/monstrocity damage is very strong.
    The recon lasgun has a blessing with a bleed on crit, you can combine that with the trait that gives you stability and crit chance while ADS at the cost of stamina to quickly rack up a lot of crits and apply a huge DoT to the target.
    Kantreal XII is great all round hitting a lot of 1-3 shot kill thresholds - definitely want the crit damage blessin on it giving you some 30-50% extra crit damage which again with your 25% crit chance on ADS means you'll start 1 shotting a lot of specials. Also while it doesnt sounds that useful the stumble power blessing is also solid purely for pox hounds as they'll start taking 2-3 headshots to kill, 1 stumble stopping them in their tracks makes those follow up shots easy.
    The power sword is amazing but main drawback isnt just the charge up - its poor handling as you have reduced dodge range and reduced number of dodges which means if something gets onto you that you cant push off then you are locked into a DPS race against your target which leads to a lot of chip damage.
    Super strong though if you have another player to walk back and forth through inbetween your charged hits as especially on heresy there are so many specials mixed into the melee hordes that the damage and cleave of the sword is increadibly powerful.
    This is the main drawback with the other weapons on higher diffs and why everyones using the power sword, you need a ton of cleave/cleave damage as the hordes start mixing in more and more specials which ignore your pushes.

    • @RichardDangles
      @RichardDangles  Год назад +2

      Yes, I have noticed pushes seem to be less effective on heresy.

    • @HoneyBadgerVideos
      @HoneyBadgerVideos Год назад +2

      Using deadshot feat
      On recon Las is not that good.
      It will instantly drain your stamina(5 per shot) and then not give the bonus anymore
      Also, specials don't ignore the pushes, elites (mostly) do.

      When crafting gets added in its entirety, it will be much easier to add cleave to weapons.
      When that's added, there is no reason for me to ever want a powersword over my 2h eviscerator.
      Even if I had the choice.

  • @KageRyuu6

    Regarding the Plasma Gun's heat mechanic, reloading vents it fully, so using Tactical Reload and One After Another can significantly reduce the time to reload and thus heat venting.
    While ammo wise, the Plasma Gun has greater damage efficiency given its variable ammo pool (assuming 50%+), only needing 18 charges or 11.25% of your ammo on Damnation to Kill a Crusher with Volley Fire, while the Bolter requires 15 rounds or 11.81% of its fixed ammo pool (assuming 70% damage on both).
    While in the same scenario above DPS wise depends primarily on the availability of Volley Fire, without it the Bolter can drop to half or even a third the DPS of the Plasma Gun due to needing to reload, while the Plasma Gun can reliably drop the target before needing to reload, venting however may be required depending on Thermal Resistance. Ultimately the two are effectively side grades of one another.
    Another and more useful classification of the Autoguns would be: the Autopistol, Infantry Autoguns, Head-Hunter Autoguns, and Braced Autoguns, as that is their in-game classification as well (Burst Autoguns are Head-Hunter variants). This is because each category has 3 variants, a ROF, Standard, and Damage model, save for the Autopistol which is the only one of its kind.
    Regarding the Helbore, the Charged shot is capable of penetrating Carapace armor unlike the other Lasguns, making them more flexible over all.

I'm generally inclined to avoid shooting anything the psyker targets unless there's good reason to put the target down more expeditiously. It just means a warp charge for the psyker and more ammunition freed up for use against other targets.

      i love my lucius helbore mkIII, i managed to get a fully upgraded one that is just ridiculous, for a las gun it's unwieldy to say the least but it's the only one that can deal with crushers and they do it damn well, and they are manageable dealing with ranged enemies, not as good as the kantreal mkXII but not far from it.
      honestly i prefer it over the plasma and the bolter for just having more ammo and being less of a headache than the plasma gun and more uptime than the plasma and bolter.

    • @Lordbobomb
      @Lordbobomb Год назад

      @@bobxbaker Yeah i ended up quite surprised when i got myself a MKIII and found it substantially better than the MKI and MKII.
      And it was the same story when i found the Accatran Lasguns. As i found personally the earlier patterns to be kinda trash. (Even on Veteran) But that changed when i got the VIIa Pattern, which i ended up adoring.
      Which is mainly a slower rate of fire but much higher damage in return.
      This is something that'll have to be addressed by people reviewing the guns as they can go from Horrible to outright Godtier Special Killers like the Lucius patterns. A simple quick trip to the Meat Grinder helps a good bit to figure out if the gun is good.

    • @spamhere1123
      @spamhere1123 Год назад

      My problem with the Hellbore isn't the damage. It's got decent damage to do. The problem is doing it. Combine an awkward trigger mechanism with terrible iron sights, and you have a gun that is straight up unfun to use, and makes it difficult, if not outright punishing, trying to get its damage on target.
      Give me one of two things (or both, that would make me happy too):
      1. Change up the trigger mechanism. Maybe make it so that ADS makes the gun charge up, and left click fires at will. Failing that, at the very least, let me hold it at max charge for more than a millisecond. Firing on release is already annoying enough, but having to time your weapon sway with the charge bar firing the gun the moment it reaches max is just painful.
      2. Give me a bloody sight. Yeah, yeah, "it's not the Krieg way", get out. I want an effective weapon, not to cosplay as the Death Korps. Any optic, even just improving the iron sights, would dramatically ease the aiming of this gun. Heck, we're the "sharpshooter" class, and exactly one type of weapon has an optic at all. Of all the guns in the game, the Lucius Hellbore deserves an optic. Something like a 2x scope would be incredible.

    • @Lordbobomb
      @Lordbobomb Год назад

      @@spamhere1123 I don't fully agree with point 1 but i do agree that holding a charge on a timer is BS.
      Point 2 i actually agree with completely as an Attachment system would really benefit the game as a whole. Especially since it would give an even greater tie to weapons you love and fix issues with weapons like the Lucius Hellbores with their sights.
      The leveling system could also play a part in getting better attachments and optics which could optionally also provide stat increases and decreases.

    • @bobxbaker
      @bobxbaker Год назад +1

      @@spamhere1123 well here's what i think, it's not really meant for firing off rapid fire at smaller targets like gunners or the sniper etc, it's there to kill bigger elites and specialists which it does extremely well,
      now just because you possibly could use it to snipe several gunmen doesn't mean you should especially with a scope like that.
      it's not really that much of a sniping weapon, but it does get a lot better with the deadshot feat when it comes to weapon sway and having duck and dodge feat with it, it's mostly the sights that is a bit cumbersome and the charge mechanic.
      but i find myself not really using the full charge when i deal with anything but elites and bigger anyways, and a bit of it comes to how much you actually want to deal with the charge mechanics of it for a longer period of time.
      but i can only say from my experience i got used to it pretty quickly because i don't charge that long for normal enemies and it feels like any normal shot to me.
      but also the MKIII version does have better iron sights brackets than mkII because it does have taller brackets however at longer range it kinda becomes a mute point because aiming at anything through an iron scope at a long distance is a challenge.
      which is why i think the Kantreal is a lot better suited for that kind of gameplay charge or not.
      but the Kantreal struggles a bit against bigger health pools and doesn't do anything against carapace armor, so it's a give and take.
      which is why i recommend the Kantreal overall as other classes and players probably don't do that as good as they focus more on heavy damage to big armored guys or horde clearing or dealing with maulers and other melée elites.
      Veteran just excel with a decent Las gun or possibly an Autogun where as the others just struggle.

    Re: Bolter and Hordes. The weapon's ability to do splash damage, area suppression, and combined with significant enemy penetration allows it to demolish hordes as long as fire is directed into the crowd like an Ogryn charge would be. rocking that Lucius Helbore mkIII and it's doing great, however i feel like everyone is focusing so hard on being able to deal the most damage and deal with the strongest enemies leaving a big gap where weaker enemies are prone to overwhelm you like scab gunners and elites.
    and as such i think for general prosperity i think you'd do good in getting either a kantreal MkXII or a gun that's good at constant massive suppression, because normal elites like scab gunners and scab shotgunners and normal ranged gunners are plenty later on and do a lot more scary damage later where you will just straight die to a line of fire of regular gun guys shooting your way, having a big bomber of a gun or a really hard hitting sniper rifle is fun and all, but it does really next to nothing to the sheer volume of enemies that the rest of the classes aren't that well at dealing with due to the huge amount of them and sometimes they will have a good ranged advantage against your squad where they will just be pinned down.
    besides all classes can deal with big ogryns, just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should.
    for example i was coming in with my helbore, and i had a zealot and a veteran and a psyker on my squad, the psyker had the lightning staff, the zealot had a bolter and thunderhammer and the other veteran had a plasma gun with a powersword, so we are 4 guys that can deal really well with crushers and monstrosities, had it been anything but malice i think we wouldn't have made it out alive. because none of us would have been able to deal with 20-40 scab gunners at the same time from all different directions.

      i feel like the 10% toughness to allies when you kill things with a more spray type of gun is just way better especially dealing with shooting squads too.
      and the melée weapon i'm either considering the chainsword or the chainaxe because i don't want to be that guy that rolls with powersword just because it's so damn good.

    I highly suggest Bolter/Plasma + Power Sword with the build in the video, or at least bringing the Power Sword when playing pubs. Carapace armored enemies are tough and healthy, negating most auto/laz guns, as well as requiring much more difficulty when killing with most melee weapons. They will break a run if they can’t be dealt with, especially during a horde.
    Also, shotguns or braced auto guns with covering fire can save the team in a pinch, while a good cleave sword with well placed pushes does even better.

      Dagger isn't too great at higher difficulties in my opinion as it lacks damage and aoe. It has decent backstab heavy attack damage with weapon perks but it pretty bad for hordes. Revolver however is one of my favourite guns with sharpshooter. It does a ton of damage and has great suppression. I use it with a full grenade build taking all grenade perks to deal with hordes + power sword, then using revolver to focus/suppress elites. It is also the only gun that lets you partial reload 1 bullet at a time if you reload while aiming down sights, which is a great clutch mechanic if you only need 1 more bullet and don't have time to fully reload the gun

  • @fredericbrasseur7399
    @fredericbrasseur7399 Год назад +4

    I love the shotgun, but the weapon just isn't viable for Heresy 4 and Damnation 5. It quickly gets out of ammo, the damage isn't on par with other weapons and the capacity is too low to take out most priority targets during Volley Fire. It has a bleeding talent (Flechettes), but that thing deals like 1dmg per tic on critical strike, so it's just bad... Its only redeeming feature is the stagger, but the Bolter does a better job at that.

    Iv been playing for a while & have found a fun & effective way to be a really effective add clear sharpshooter if your team had enough special killer's.
    So it basically gose like this
    Get a accatran lasgun heavy version
    The reason for this is its one of the few weapons to pierce infected.
    But if you can't get one find somthing that is good at close to medium range with a good fire rate or reload speed if that's not possible somthing with good ammo conservation.
    Then take main parks to Aim for are
    Demolition Stockpile
    Demolition Team
    Frag Storm
    They all effect frags now the "last" 3 perks are more personal preference but I have found most success with.
    At Arm’s Length: the reason I went with this is it let's you fight at range a bit better when suppressing those pesky scabs & I found it gives you more survivability when not in coherency.
    The next perk is
    Camo Expert: the primary reason for this is simply to allow you to focus on dealing with hords but is gose well with arms length for suppression you can't afford some pest coming up behind & stopping you suppressing the enemy gunner and letting you ogryn or zealot open to shooty shooty.
    Now the lvl 30 perks I find situational because
    Sustained Fire is absolutely epic to put down horde but The Bigger They Are is so good for helping the team with ogryn and monstrositys.
    Anyway the basic game play loop you aiming for with this build is this.
    Be in the front line or just behind it & when a hord or mass of enemy's spawn lob a grenade in to the pack to get some bleed stacks on as many as possible then pull the trigger on your las & killing and suppressing as many as possible now this is where demo team can shine and if your not lucky that's where demo Stockpile shines basicly you should never not have a grenade or 2 to stun big boys or create space in hords to ie reload or run to cover or save a team mate, and the best Melee to complete this is the power sword for all the reasons you said in your video.

    What's the most dangerous enemy in the game? Trappers? Hounds? Mutants? Reapers? Boss enemies?
    Nope. The humble enemy lasgunner. Why? Because he and his 15 friends he usually brings with him can stunlock and wipe you out faster than you can say "Emperor be praised" at long range with pinpoint accuracy. They also are usually pretty smart, spreading out and taking cover rather than bunching up together for you to blast with AoE or tie up in melee all at once.
    Veterans, no one is better at dropping these dangerous mofos than you. Ogryns have extremely limited long range options, and they typically lack accuracy. Psykers can brain burst them, but it's slow. Zealots have access to most of the guns you do, but have less ammo than you and they don't have the bonus perks for them. Veterans, especially with Counterfire, are essential to dealing with squads of these monsters in human skin.
