We thought about doing that. These logs are extremely thick and it would take hours to tend to them all, we only have around 6-8 hours of sunlight during the winter here. Also we made a similar structure before with logs 4x smaller and they are holding strong. Should still last a very long time. Next structure at the village we can start to do that, since we’d already have this place to sleep at

You guys should burn the ends of the logs, then put them in the ground. Slows down rot and keeps the bugs from munching on them.
