      The real hate for CC is that 28 million Nike Deal she got. It has nothing to do with her play on the court. The women of the WNBA are upset they dont make that kind of money on or off the court. Reese is not upset as she had the opportunity to soon with Nike for more money but opted to go with Reebok instead.
      So when the women out there are playing against her they are playing against a 28 million dollar woman on the court to their $73,000 a yr salary.
      Now doesn’t that add up where the hatred is coming from?

      @@malissakpadeh8951I’m likely much older than you, but I very much remember the nastiness from veterans that Larry Bird had to endure in his rookie season. Regardless, the Fever didn’t have the first round draft pick in two consecutive seasons because they were a championship caliber team, genius. The WINNING will come if and when the head coach figures out how to use CC effectively… CC getting only three shooting attempts in the 4th quarter is all on the coach. The Fever had the last game won, which would have been five in a row, but a blown 15-point lead and in the final three minutes having CC inbounding instead of setting her up for an open shot is just horrible coaching.

      What's funny to me is that the players have long been whining for more money. Along comes a player who actually has the ability to put the WNBA in a viewership position that could increase salaries and the players around her are seeking to hold her down and take digs whenever they can. I'm not sure they understand how this all works.

    Caitlin Clark is evidence that the WNBA hasn't been an abject failure for decades because of sexism, but rather by being such a low quality product. Caitlin Clark brings the talent and excitement that people want to pay to see. Instead, what we typically get out of the WNBA is cringe. There are vidos titled "This is why nobody watches the WNBA", and they are spot on. Caitlin Clark is bringing much needed life into the sport and will hopefully become the new standard.

    • @LouiseCommon
      @LouiseCommon 2 месяца назад

      She won’t , the WNBA has and will go on with or without her, there are many players with multiple championships, some teams been bought out and moved to new cities , players are now coaches, teams that won before Caitlin was born , she may or may not achieve what u want but she’ll be in the history books along with the others, , let the young lady grow up and stop thinking that she should come before everyone else in the league , she has to earn her spot , it’s not a walk in the park , before her it was Kelsey Plum , now she’s 2 championships in , it takes time people , someone will break Caitlin’s records also , you better hope she has a career like Taurasi has had or if she still playing this good at 42. The 3 other new players picked for team USA deserve it, this is not a popularity contest it’s basketball , and when we stop comparing and writing incorrect info and race comments and let these women play ball then u will enjoy some good games as we have over 25 years. If the WNBA wasn’t good it would not be around , you’re watching for the wrong reasons and getting upset over nothing, blaming everybody and pointing fingers, that’s not what sports should be about. Win or lose.

    • @PaulGaither
      @PaulGaither 2 месяца назад

      @LouiseCommon - apart from the poor writing structure, the ideas and not well thought out either. The WNBA is subsidized and has been since inception. It started in the 90s and has failed to find any ground to stand on its own. It wouldn't exist if not for the NBA pumping money into it, as it is a net loss of revenue. Catlin is the reasonnthis year that negative revenue is decreasing and pointing to growth.
      You also say I am wayching for the wrong reasons? What a stupid thing to say. I am watching for good basketball, which the league sorely lacks and has consistently lacked for decades. That is the only reason tonwatch pro sport: a quality product.

She should/would easily be making 50 million a year (maybe not the Fever, but the league, just imagine how much their TV revenue is gong up this year and next). No other player has EVER had such an outsized proportion of the success of a whole sport on their shoulders. A large degree of that is the relative obscurity of WNBA before her arrival, making it so easy to grow. This is not saying she is the best player ever, nor even the best player now, but there is no denying she is a rock star in a field of kindergarteners, she is the face of the WNBA, and likely to go down as the most important WNBA player EVER (not the best, but most important).

    So she’s #2 prospect for All-Star… but shouldn’t be on the Olympic team? It’s CRITICS V. FANS all over again. I thought we didn’t care about the critics?

    "That's why this All Star voting is important"--that's also why the racism directed at her is so childish. Oh, BTW, Caitlin won the Honda Cup award...AGAIN!

    If CC had a better coach this team would be way better off.

    I never watched women’s basketball until I saw a clip of Caitlin at Iowa. The first reaction was to say “ did I just see a woman doing that”! It’s not only her amazing skill but also her vision of the entire court. She can find a teammate through a gap that hardly exists. How she is not on the Olympic team,is bewildering. The greatest thing to hit women’s basketball since whenever. A massive missed opportunity for women’s basketball.
