If you are new to the channel, my name is Bgo. I am a fellow ex-software engineer with a Fortune 500 background, and currently I'm the co-founder and CTO of AB Analytics. We specialize in helping small and medium-sized businesses-especially those without their own data analytics teams-unlock the power of data to grow. If you’re new to my channel, let me give you the quick version of who I am and why I’m here.
1: Moved to the US.
2: Joined my high school robotics team - wrote my first line of code in MATLAB.
3: Took my first college-level CS class.
4: Landed a 13 month paid internship at NASA and dove into research at UCLA on consciousness and intelligence.
5: Transferred to UCSD, secured a six-figure SWE consulting gig working for Fortune 500 companies, and simultanesouly launched various side ventures.
6: Graduated with a B.S in Electrical & Computer Engineering. Got promoted at work to a senior position before I had my diploma.
7: Side ventures failed - lost over $130k in unrealized gains. Launched AB Analytics.
8: Quit my corproate job after final promotion to manager, leaving behind a six figure salary. Closed my first six-figure deal, onboarded 8 full-time employees, and hit 7 figures in ARR. Ended up dining with a U.S president and traveled more in a year than I had in my entire life.
Today: Still building, still learning, and still hungry. I skipped a lot of wins (and even more losses), but that's the short version. My business brings in ~7M in ARR, most of which is being re-invested back into the business and this channel.
I share my story because I want every software engineer to know they can do more than just code-they can lead, innovate, and change the world. We as software engineers are the next bastion of humanity - how we approach the upcoming advancements in technology will determine the course of humanity for the next few centuries.
