    Hi. For the D35 cutter, we only have roughing blades for aluminum. Therefore, we did not use a larger cutter. The maximum feed of the machine is 5000 mm / min, it couldn't be faster. I prefer to machine steel...

      Why is there so shallow cutting? Aluminium is quite a soft material, you may rough it using parameters that are much more aggresive. Since you are not able to feed fast I would recommend to take at least 3-4mm depth of cut. Example parameters for my machine - D32, 3 insert mill 180 mm overhang BT40: ap:4mm, ae:70-100%, feed per tooth 0,15mm/min, vc=1000m/min, and much COOLANT which lubricates inserts.

      @@LubomirPotockiI think he's using a high feed cutter so not really suited for deeper cuts. A shoulder milling cutter with APKT aluminum inserts for instance, would have allowed these deeper cuts.

    Great video as always. Can I ask when you are roughing the deep pockets do you include lots of program stops to check tool wear?

      Thanks. This is not necessary for aluminum. The blades last about 6 hours of work. Steel max 4 hours.

    Алюминий под матрицу это похоже под пластик, материал не очень стойкий. Мне на ремонт не раз привозили под расточку на токарку матрицы, под бутылки, разбивает их, стираются.

    Keď potrebujete vyrobiť nejaké menšie diely tam mi napíšte. Máme frézu a zháňame na to robotu. Robíme v CAM.

    do you guys square up your vices before you put in the raw material?

      The material is flat. In vices, we first mill it to the size of a semi-finished product. If you mean this.

      @@CncFrezar do you use a dial indicator to see if your vices are parallel/squared to each other?

      @@Mclayne We will check with a 3D probe. The vices have an accuracy of + - 0.01 mm. Then, we can start working.
