Marcus render (Cork save) wonderkid loan farm, last year second yellow card (youtuber and streamer) did a build a nation and won the champions league after about 30 seasons. He had an insane loan farm, he uploaded season reviews on his RUclips, maybe check it out as he did give out tips and he ended up having about 100 players loaned out to Irish teams. Its a good series, I would recommend
Damn that last save really reminded of my 3rd season with my hometown club in my first ever FM save. Just so many mistakes that I had to find out through trial and error, sometimes pure luck. FM is extremely overwhelming when you start out, and there is so much you have to learn simply by failing.
@@russellshectman932 Yeah, and then you feel like a tactical god when you take "Barry and his mates from the Pub" United from tier 17 to the Premier League in 20 seasons.
That's typically how it works with these (non-live service) games. I started with FM15 and got sacked 17 times straight. The problem with me is, I'm American so 'football' to me involves high speed collisions, so I was learning the actual game and the video game at the same time. Interesting that you find early crosses and underlaps counter-intuitive, it has been extremely effective for me in multiple saves, scoring very reliably with my center midfielders along the way. Feels like kind of a way to do both? Playing in FM22 by the way.

Yep, delegating a bunch of stuff makes learning the game much easier. You can get the basics right, then if you want more control over scouting, training, etc, you can take control of that too. If you go in blind trying to do everything, it'll be completely overwhelming. Hell, i've been playing for years and theres still a fair few things I leave to the assistant manager lmao
I've been playing for years so have seen the iterations of the game as I've gone along and adapted but I have thought for a long time that if I was a brand new player I'd be pretty daunted by all the options. I tried to play Out of the Park Baseball which is a baseball manager sim and I don't know much about baseball and that game seemed so complicated so I imagine that's what someone new to FM must feel. Like other people have said if anybody is new to the game and struggling just delegate a lot of the tasks. Also, if you think tactics are the problem try using one of the preset recommended tactics that you get when you first join the club and then make small changes to those rather than try and reinvent the wheel with lots of crazy player roles. If in doubt do what all England managers did for a couple of decades and go four four f'ing two and go long to the big man up front and pray

The last save kinda shows a bigger problem. Often there ae so many easy solutions we can't think about. It is obvious when pointed out, but it's so easy to overlook especially with new players. And I don't expect of anybody to find every solution themselves.
Hey Zealand, I would love to see how big is the impact of 5-star staff. When I start a season in a new club I spend hours on searching for the best staff possible, but how important is that? Is that true that better coaches actually coach better? I mean, If I manage a young talanted team, how much will they lose if their coaches are not 5 stars? And actually I've got tons of questions on the staff. Will a better negotiating Director of Football sell players more effectivelly, or will he have more response from the clubs when I add someone to the sell-list? I have no idea why I keep looking for the best Technical director while I dont see any vaguest clue what this guy even does.

To the guy asking how you can help build the clubs around you at 7:20 : Trials - NOT LOANS. Loans cost you more money. Not only do trials work as scouting for you but it lets other clubs in the nation take a look and decide on players too. If the guy from the save in Denmark is reading this you don't need to use a DM to be successful in a tactic with no wingers. I'm using a 4-3-1-2 (3 cm) with a lot of success, for it to work offensively your full-backs need to be on a attacking role because they need to stretch the opposition defense wide and the have to be able to carry the ball, full backs on attack, wings-backs on attack work but CWB on attack work wonders (even if they players you have aren't suited for the role). Your RCM and your LCM need to be roles that explore the half space/wings, mezzallas on support it's what works the best but you can use any role that occupies wider areas. The CM needs to be the fake DM so anything with a defensive role apart from BWM, DLP on defend is what I normally use. Both strikers NEED to be pressing forwards, any other roles disrupts the team defensively especially against teams that pass the ball well. You either set up with a low block and a standard line or with a high press and a much higher defensive line.
I tried to make a career with Cefn Druids, after 6 seasons they didn't want to give me professional status, after I went to the Europa Conference League twice and came second in the league, TNS can't be beaten until I could buy players normally, now I started again in Germany with Nuremberg
Okay with the youth academy saves, I have grievances with Z saying you have no control over who comes in. While this is true, it changes over time if you stick to a particular DNA and shape. From what I've seen, after two seasons doing this, most of your Regen actually start taking that form and have higher values on your DNA attributes. Only tested this with Newcastle and fulham. Currently playing with Burnley to confirm this. Also, I'd say get invested in your youth team. Design the same training regimen as with your first team. One key thing that supported this was the use of training regimen that fit my philosophy and style of play for both my youth team and my first team. I only use physical training for my youth team in preseason and when they have no games in the week. I'm sorry I love raising youngsters.

Hey Zealand, I have a question about scouting in those hidden gem countries/areas. Do you need to load those leagues beforehand to unearth those hidden gems or do you need scouts who have great knowledge about those areas and don't have those leagues loaded? Awesome video btw!
It's often not for no reason. Your team might either be 1) too reckless 2) too passive after scoring a bunch. This has often something to do with the tactics, but might be player based too (complacency, fatigue, low teamwork ignoring tactics, PPMs conflicting with tactics). You must give out more info for people to analyze the issue.
We need the results! Take WAY longer than giving just advise, but how can we not test you? All we have before is Benji and you know he ignored half your advice anyway

@@kieronparr3403 fair, just feels like it’s only use will be breaking down low blocks by extreme rotation. Apart from that leaves defensive weaknesses. Interesting to hear it worked on CM
@@liamholgate1815 it's a long time ago but to be fair I had keane at DM and Scholsey/Juan Veron (he was good then) at AM
@@kieronparr3403 yeah, some team tbf. Was picking Man U not the old version of picking psg today though aha
Hey Zealand, I have a question about scouting in those hidden gem countries/areas. Do you need to load those leagues beforehand to unearth those hidden gems or do you need scouts who have great knowledge about those areas and don't have those leagues loaded? Awesome video btw!
Quick ask - How do you stop conceding 3+ goals a game? Even when I smash teams, I still concede 3/4 for no reason.
Minimum CA for scouting should be a half star. I feel you miss out on some decent players with everything higher then one star.
We need the results! Take WAY longer than giving just advise, but how can we not test you? All we have before is Benji and you know he ignored half your advice anyway
how to find the tab to compare your team in the league. ive been looking and cant find it. If anyone can help?
Zealand did you get loans for Christmas like you wished? 🎅
