@jamesdrummond7684 buy it, first two weeks are rough as fuck cause u wanna do something and have to fight the menus to do it, but once u mastered the menus is an amazing game. It`s like learning to drive, once u mastered how to use the wheel, the clutch... the driving itself feels amazing.
Please never stop doing these, Z. Even if the answer is usually wonderkids or loans, it’s still fun and interesting to see the unique problems players are encountering
its not really interesting to me. i dont want to min max a singleplayer football manager career, but seems like content like this is making people think its the way they should play
6:45 I think the important guidance to be given here is that lots of players have five star potential but when you scout a centre back who is 19 and has 10 in most key attributes, he’s much less likely to be a superstar than a 19 year old who is 13-15 in the key positions. The stars are just a guide. You have to judge where they are. A five star wonder kid at 21 like his players should already be world class. Only sign the wonder kids who are already stacked in the stats they need, whatever the age. At 21 they’re only going to go up by at most 2 or 3 in key stats.
Haven't you heard of the mighty Boston United that are based in Argentina? Maradona started his football career there😂 and Messi got rejected from their youth academy
To be honest Argentina has a few English team names for some reason (Newell's Old Boys, All Boys...), they even also have an Arsenal, and Uruguay has a team called Boston River
I can't find the exact video, but the team meeting to boost morale after the losing streak has helped wonders. The players are now competent. Thank you very much, Zealand.
Best loans are the developing wonderkids/top prospects from a Prem league affiliate (Arsenal) when I'm growing up from the 6th tier and currently at 4th in pole position to win a 3rd consecutive league title being 6 games ahead with 10 games left streak starting from the very beginning(2023; now 2026). After making it into 4th tier I pushed our chairperson to get a top level affiliate landing Arsenal. Having Arsenal provide us top tier loans for free is amazing!
I've done something similar (although I don't have a Prem senior affiliate yet), but I've also found another way to get players from big clubs : signing their academy rejects. Most of them will be cheap when out of contract, and I've found a bunch of rotation players and even some starters that way with Yeovil Town, ironically many of them coming from Arsenal. When you get the message "Young players set for release", send a trial offer to every single one of them.
How do you deal with wages , i got arsenal as my affiliate while playing woods (vanarama) i did get 2 players but they insist am paying a big chunck of the wage and it realy big for a team like mine running a 60k p/w budget and 800k balance .
@akramlahmouri6101 My affiliate status says that Arsenal would pay the wages so I pay nothing. Only stipulation is you can't have an option to buy and they may want them played a certain way at their position.
3:29 - interesting, Slavia Prague sits in 2nd place in the Europa League. So I’m betting the Czech league isn’t playable. Every time I have it disabled, Czech teams start dominating either the Europa League or the Conference League. However, whenever I enable the Czech league, they sometimes end up ranked far below Gibraltar. And I’m sure this isn’t the only league that behaves like this in FM24.
2:31 For those wondering, the Premier League makes more TV Money (~2.1 billion euros) than the other 4 of the Big 5 Leagues in Europe COMBINED (~1.54 billion euros). That's a difference of around 550-600 million euros, easy. Not even Spain makes a billion euros from TV revenue. The English Premier League is the king of Europe, and the ridiculous TV money discrepancies more than prove that.
2:16 In my personal experience I have found the PL easier to win than the SPL. If you have worked your way up from the lower leagues it is so hard to beat the old firm, but in the PL you get so much more money to compete.
My first FM save was in FM 22 with West Ham, and in 5 season I won 4 UCL's in a row (beating Real Madrid in the final all 4 times) and the UEL in the first year
I started a retro database used a proven tactic which worked for two season getting me to win Premier league champions league but in 3rd season start was a disaster so I changed 4-3-2 so I changed the shape and kept the philosophy as I figured the ai was adapting to how we are playing so I changed the shape to a 5-1-2-2 and it brought back the winning feeling so sometimes just change the shape don't scrap the whole tactic
Other teams don't really adapt to your tactic. It's more just that you're probably letting rot creep in. It's likely morale and fatigue. Rotate and praise, and the team will perform better.
I've just started my first save with KAA Gent in the Belgian first division. After 18 games I'm top of the league, so tactics wise I'm doing alright, but I have no clue how to manage transfers, scouting, finances. I'm doing good now, but I know I'll drown in the upcomming transfer periods and I don't know how to fix it.

The first one resonates hard, the prem is harder to win than the Champions League, and it is only last year I managed to win the premier league while playing with my brother in law multiplayer, despite having played fm and won the Champions League multiple times since fm12.
Hi Zealand! Is it true that the recruitment focus will not show players that are ‘not interested’. Eg. when playing with a Championship team, will the scout still recommend players from the Prem that are uninterested in your Championship team?
As someone that also took Boston to the PL, I can confirm it is easier to win the CL (Ive won the Europa League and Champions League, but never above 2nd in the PL)
Hello Z, Rimstar here thank you for looking at my save. The team meetings and praising conduct were some of the first things that i did, however i do think saying you're training well yet the player drops a horrendous performance is a massive issue so i ended dropping the likes of Van Erp, Hashimoto and a couple of others to bounce backwhich has seemed to fix the problem as we're now winning again. I'll admit the tactic is pretty bold but i wanted to try something a bit different and double CWB's is something i've never used before (i usually do default for FB support). I hope my suffering has helped someone else and ill make sure to post an update on how the season finished. Cheers Edit : finished the season, finishrd 7th and got to the conference semi-finals. @corkak that's fine, like I say I wanted to go with something a little different that I could play around with. If you don't like it that's fine with me
funny thing but i found leagues monopolized by 1-2 teams to be harder to win than the prem. it results in those teams regularly getting over 90 pts when the gap widens and needing to win nearly every match. in the prem everyone drops points so it's less stressful
I just started the 94/95 save with all the facepacks etc, loving it so far. Went united, banned transfers for first window, lose Cantona and Hughes for 3-4 months :|
I play console and I believe im on default settings: I never really have to worry about setting up scouts/scouting because I can all the player’s attributes. I simply search players using the attribute search and check through all the best players. Obviously I still receive suggestions but the best players usually never come up, I just find the whilst searching all the players. Then once I’ve found someone, I don’t need to scout them coz I can literally see everything - have I been doing something wrong for 2,500 hours?
Unsure about console, but default on pc is for attribute masking, which masks the attributes which is where scouting is used to see attributes and hidden attributes. I would suggest turning on attribute masking.
@ it’s on the new save advanced setup screen on pc. You should find some options when setting up a new save and one of those should be attribute masking, make sure that is checked.
Best new save tip: stop while you can. Seriously, this is an addictive game that requires a lot of time. Don't get addicted if you value your family, friends and professional career.
Weird, I'm second in the prem with Leeds and their rep is the same as the first team in this vid. I would kill for players like that, my star player is Georgino Rutter and he's only above 15 in one stat (I didn't even buy him I inherited him when I took over).
8:20 is pure foolishness. Worst part is that tactic exploits FMs engine so well this guy couldn't see all the weaknesses in it. SI should really prevent this sort of thing in future titles.
I menage Roma in online save, after 6 wins in row in all competitions lost against Lazio (friend) after that loss I continued winning streak 6 more wins
It's because of Zealand and omega like and Tom fm that made me get into fm 24 and I've already become pretty established ngl I thi m I'm at least an okay player now❤
Hi Zealand, I think it'd be cool if you did a SYS episode of saves people send in, but the theme is "Saved Your Saves"; main submissions are saves where the wheels/momentum fall off (eg. You've got into the top 5 after a couple promotions, but you finish 10th the season after) but the manager has got it back on track, and looking into how they managed it. A bit of a view from the other side, kind of like when you revisited previous SYS episodes!
having all this scouting and wonderkids and knap tactics and Chinese Fm training only mean so much if your reputation is low. Until you can overcome the "nerfing" your low rep does in the match engine, it is all mostly irrelevant. The rep grind is the constant in FM
Using a guy with 17 finishing and 19 agility as a defensive midfielder is a crime. I don’t care if it’s a segundo volante that man has to be an attacking midfielder at the very least
I need Zealand scarf merch. I play in my living room where the window is open for tha cats to get in and out. Mind you I will only buy 100% wool. Oh, and socks. Also wool.
In regards to the 1st save. I've been playing since CM98, and never had a shortlist. Haven't needed them. I've won leagues with teams that have players at the level of some of the Boston team. It's more important to get your players in form and for your players to be fully adept at the tactics.
Love Z's content but most of these are just 'I cheesed wonderkids and tactics like my favourite FM streamer said so why can't I win everything in a couple of seasons like I'm playing Fifa'. I want to see the dire 'I've gotten relegated twice with Man Utd and just lost to Snodsbury & Pucklechurch Town 5-0 in the WhoCares Paint Trophy' and the 'I'm in the Swedish Fourth division and I can't pay my players more than 5 pounds a week how do I not die' type misery saves.
im so confused how the guy who is barca manager is in so much crap? i done a barca save once to try and build them back up, was an idiot at the start and sold lewa for 40 mil and got 9 from the board 😫 seasons after that yes i bought some players but i literally used the youth team to build a world class barca team in 3 years! their youth is so good and full of talent i won the quadruple and only lost 1 in CL to chelsea away in that season
Checklist to do about 80% right in fm24 - Pace - Acceleration - Under 19 - Use an all out attacking Gegenpress tactic 433 or 4231 - LOANS LOANS LOANS. Its so broken. you can sign insane players especially in lower leagues - GGs
This sounds utterly tiring and boring. Just min maxing transfers. Want new content that looks at more organic ways of playing the game, like more delegation. I dont want to min max a singleplayer game, i want some semblance of reality. the youtuber the deep lying playmaker has such really refreshing content on basic fm advice, wholesome as and really invigorated my joy for the game.
i've never played a minute of FM, don't watch the sport outside of the world cup/euros, and I watch both Zealand's FM leagues and his SYS for his advice on a game I'll never play. i am a sick puppy.
oh trust me I give you a year max before you ll buy the game

lol this was me until this summer now I have 4000 hours of fm and play 8 hours a day
I was in your situation friend, now I am saving for a PC🤣

its not really interesting to me. i dont want to min max a singleplayer football manager career, but seems like content like this is making people think its the way they should play

A bit of a view from the other side, kind of like when you revisited previous SYS episodes!
Where's Pep Guardiola?
having all this scouting and wonderkids and knap tactics and Chinese Fm training only mean so much if your reputation is low. Until you can overcome the "nerfing" your low rep does in the match engine, it is all mostly irrelevant. The rep grind is the constant in FM
i have fm24 but no idea how to play and need someone to coach me on how to plat lol
Using a guy with 17 finishing and 19 agility as a defensive midfielder is a crime.
I don’t care if it’s a segundo volante that man has to be an attacking midfielder at the very least
I do use him as a striker primarily, only plays DM occasionally
I need Zealand scarf merch. I play in my living room where the window is open for tha cats to get in and out.
Mind you I will only buy 100% wool.
Oh, and socks. Also wool.

Praise conduct of all players is so boring...
We need a button to praise conduct of all the team as soon as possible !!!!
@zealand ! Go do a premier league prediction with the irish guy some week.. make him give you a loooaaaaannnn as a forfeit 😂
PLS SAVE PEP GUARDIOLA'S SAAVE
Yeah the prem is harder than Champions League. Won the CL in third season in the prem with Shrewsbury but took another three seasons to win it finally
In regards to the 1st save. I've been playing since CM98, and never had a shortlist. Haven't needed them. I've won leagues with teams that have players at the level of some of the Boston team. It's more important to get your players in form and for your players to be fully adept at the tactics.
I would straight up ignore any request from people managing RB Salzburg/Leipzig or any other bs like that, but I'm not judging.
Leipzig is the ultimate enemy when I manage the Bundesliga. I'm not even mad when I lose the title to Bayern, but when Leipzig wins it I always tilt.

Lets create song titles with 'Loan':
I'll start:
Like a rolling Loan.
Checklist to do about 80% right in fm24
- Pace
- Acceleration
- Under 19
- Use an all out attacking Gegenpress tactic 433 or 4231
- LOANS LOANS LOANS. Its so broken. you can sign insane players especially in lower leagues
- GGs
This sounds utterly tiring and boring. Just min maxing transfers. Want new content that looks at more organic ways of playing the game, like more delegation.
I dont want to min max a singleplayer game, i want some semblance of reality.
the youtuber the deep lying playmaker has such really refreshing content on basic fm advice, wholesome as and really invigorated my joy for the game.
надеюсь в 25 части сделают реализм, а не это все кому не лень , с 7 дивизионах англии через 5-6 лет уже в ЛЧ играют, и в чем интерес
