    I returned my Wahl Elite Pro after 16 days of ownership and 3 usage. The adjustable taper level became loose and faulty. Here in Sydney, Australia this clipper is worth $159.95.I was the same when I first held it and thought it's a great investment and built quality was awesome. What came in the box are also great quality compared to other Wahl hair clippers.

      I think you can tighten the lever screw

    It is a great deal because you get $30 in guards alone plus the clipper that has the same motor as the wahl taper 2000 plus the presicion blade wich is wahls best blade because is a size between the fade blade and the taper blade that when cero gaped it makes awesome fades

      I really don't use adjustable Clippers that much except for polishing at the end of a fade I like to use removable clipper blades like Oster 76 to do my fading. It's much faster and more efficient. if you're going to be working in a professional environment I would recommend getting into detachable Clipper blades

      They're ok. For 20$ more dollars you can get a designer or Super Taper

    Is this good for cutting long thick hair down to a buzz cut in one drag? Im just tryna cut my own hair to a 2 whenever it gets long. My other cheap wahl clipper broke and would cut hella slow and get stuck.

    Did you have problems with the blade breaking skin? Or did i just get a bad one?

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  4 года назад +2

      All clipper blades need to be adjusted properly before you use them. You need to make sure the cutting blade does not protrude past the stationary blade

    Hey man, I love watching your videos.
    I used these and when I tried to rescrew and bring the blade down, they stopped cutting. I really liked these overall but I returned them twice because they just messed up.. maybe I got a bad batch. I really want to like these - but I wish these cut a bit closer for a really fresh fade and didn’t mess up on me.
    Is there anything you recommend? I’m working with my own hair and usually cut it a 4 on top , 1 on upper half, and fade into a zero or as close as possible.

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  7 лет назад +1

      Tripleh3lix20 the designer blade is not really great for fading because it's smooth , it will stick to your skin especially if it's slightly wet.. if you notice the super taper blade and the senior blade have ridges on them to help with that.. if you really want to get into fading and you don't want to spend a ton of money I would recommend the Oster fast feed clipper. The teeth on it are very close together so it may take you a little bit more time to do your bulk cutting on top,,, but it will definitely help your fading because it is a low-rpm clipper, it Blends better without putting lines in like a high rpm magnetic clipper

      Cody the Barber Thanks for getting back to me. One last question - do you think these are okay to zero gap and still have them perform good?

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  6 лет назад

      Tripleh3lix20 I don't think it's very easy to zero Gap the Oster fast feeds but another recommendation will be the Wahl super taper that's a very affordable Clipper and it's very easy to zero Gap that's actually what I use exclusively at the barbershop now

    Hi :)
    I have a question :)
    I want to learn fading/blending my hair my self at home. I am a total beginner.. Do you think this clipper would be suitable for me. I want to learn fading only, not cutting long bulk of hair. If not, as you are in a barber school, which clipper would you recommend me to buy as my first beginner fading clipper..
    Thanks a lot
    from Denmark :)

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  6 лет назад +1

      mqc. i would reccomend a wahl senior or oster fast feed. the blades have ridges on them which make it easier to glide on your skin when doing fades

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  6 лет назад +1

      you could also use this clip or just put a' super taper "blade on it. just make sure the blade that you get has ridges

    • @qc4738
      @qc4738 6 лет назад +1

      OK. Great advice about ridges on blades :) Yes. I am trying to get wahl or oster, but I only find them with US plugs (i.e. 110v) on amazon.. In europe we have electric plug for 220-240v.. but thanks for your reply and advice, much appreciated :)

      @@thesuccessfulbarber I see in your video that you replaced the precision blade with a "super taper" one. Do you know, what other wahl blades fit the Elite Pro??! And is the "Super taper" blade quality wise better than the precision? Thanks a lot for the review!!!

    motor v5000?

    • @thesuccessfulbarber
      @thesuccessfulbarber  7 лет назад

      Ivan Romero I'm pretty sure it's not a v5000 but it's the same motor that they put in the taper 2000 and the Wahl Pro basic it's not a super powerful motor but it would be fine for cutting your own hair I don't think you would enjoy it working in a Barbershop it's underpowered
