- A faulty update to cybersecurity software knocked computers offline across industries and across the globe Friday.
The company responsible, CrowdStrike, announced the issue with its Falcon tool had been identified and a fix had been deployed.
Only computers running Microsoft Windows were affected, not those running Mac or Linux.

Yeah, I am working overtime with my IT team to clean up this mess. Crowdstrike really dropped the ball. A lot of devices requires a tech to fix the issue in person, per device. Huge workload for a large enterprise
I wonder how this got rolled out. Don't they test their updates before putting them into production? How could that happen?
That's some liability. Again, not the sort of thing that should happen in a software environment

Funny how everyone acts like network security is arcane. Microsoft obviously shouldn't use crowdstrike
I think it's just numbers. Microsoft products are on the vast majority of computers. Mac and Linux are in the minority.
