Hi
Clown Planet, ladies and gentlemen.
Nuh uh
Apples argument is the equivalent of refusing to sell people knives because they could cut their own throats with them.
Apple has always done all they can to give their users as little freedom as possible, so this is totally expected. The sad part is that simps on Twitter just repeat talking points from Apple doing their dirty work for them. Even more sad, they are journalists whose job is supposed to be to scrutinize Apple's claims, not repeat them. Muta is doing better journalism than actual professional journalists. 😅
bruh xdxhahahzqh good one
@@AlrienJ I feel good being an iPhone owner and not being one of those Twitter “fanboys.” Sure I like it but I’m not going to drool over it, I’ve actually been considering going Android for a minute now.
people who buy apple are cutting their own throats
2200 dollars for an iphone? 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂what tf lmaoooooo
Nah, it's more like the equivalent of charging TWICE the price of a normal knife for a dull plastic knife, with the reason given being that it's safer because you can't accidentally cut your fingers with it.
Apple is a textbook example of a company that doesn't want you to do things with their devices outside of what they deem to be safe, let alone fix it yourself. Seeing how they successfully fear mongered their user base into thinking side loading is bad, there is no hope for them. It's kind of concerning that a company like Apple can do that to their fans.
Apple is a textbook example of a company that doesn't want you to do things they *can't control*
Fixed that for ya
What's even more concerning is that the brand managed to survive for as long as Apple has, given their bad practices.
I'm still afraid of phone batteries.
It certainly can lead to a worse experience for normal users if regular apps now needs to be side loaded instead of just being on the AppStore. I remember how irritating the galaxy store was when I had Samsung.
The nintendo of phones
It's wild that most 10 year olds knew what sideloading was even when Android just became popular a decade ago. But tech journalists still don't.

@@tonic316 Nah I guarantee you I learned how to download an apk by myself. And so did my friend circle from way back when. Nothing to do with tech-literate parents
I'm almost 100% sure that as soon as sideloading and usb-c will be available they will advertise it as a major new feature as if the rest of the industry hadn't been doing it for years.
Edit: Told you guys
100%. It'll be "revolutionary", and they'll advertise USB c features as "new and breaking".

The term 'linux gatekeepers' is inherently funny because the thing that's annoying about linux users is that they won't shut up about trying to get you to use linux.
This is true. If Linux users gatekept more they'd probably say things like "oh well you can't use this OS because you're poor" you know....that thing apple users are always doing.
For real tho, it's always "have you tried Linux?" , "I use Arch BTW", "should've installed Linux" etc
@@monochrome_linux this is true because if anything we're really aggressive about telling people to try it and that's why if our community ever caught someone actually gatekeeping Linux we would simply pull him aside and ask him politely yet firmly to leave.
@@CaH6633 the only reason some people even gatekeep linux is cus they don't want people to take away features of their favourite distros claiming that it was too hard to use.
Like consider an example where Android became exactly like iOS cus people forced developers to make it more *dumb* so that it's easier for them to use, now the power users who liked the advanced features in Android can no longer have those features. Mostly that's the reason why some people gatekeep Linux
Also that too only is for a tiny cluster of distros like arch, gentoo, void etc etc
It's cause we think everyone else is stupid.
I will never understand people who defend companies like they are family.
It's so weird. There's a couple of guys where I work who will only buy iPhones. I think they have macs at home too. I told them they're paying twice what they need to but they won't listen. They're "nice to use", wallet be damned.

I can't imagine the panic of Apple executives when developers finally gained the ability of not paying their AppStore fee.
In fairness, Apple always had the option to just allow those projects on their platform and collect said fees. They simply chose not to.
Kinda funny that one dude tried to install a game that doesn't exist on android, got a malware, and came to the conclusion
that android is at fault. It's like jumping down the staircase skipping all the steps and twisting your ankle and then deciding that it happened because he didn't use an elevator.

Sideloading will allow companies to bypass security what if RUclips decides to not put on Apple Store, fk that so they can steal data by bypassing apples rules
I’m ok with sideloading if Apple runs every sideloading app through a virtual sandbox lock it out from every part of the phone
I hope apples passive aggressive, I bought the phone because it’s locked down from every angle, that’s coming from someone who in the IT space
@@atticus2274 found the apple user. Careful, RUclips has scams, and now that you can sideload you might get hacked.
How important was your username for this example?
Sideloading on apple is equivalent to letting people leave the house to walk around the neighborhood. You don't have to leave the house. It's just giving you the ability to walk outside if you want.
Its like making it illegal to wear short skirts because it increases the chances of r4pe

You'd think being the generation growing up with technology we'd be more tech literate 🙃
if anything the younger generations are only becoming more and more tech illiterate and more and more tech reliant
Folks are ignorant, bar calls/social media/games, not a lot of users care about the more delicate stuff. With smartphones and tablets, many people don’t feel the need to use a laptop/PC. The elder still have the mentality that using a gadget automatically means you’re a programmer, even though many can’t do more than just running browsers.

It's funny because Apple actually seems to draw inspiration for iOS features from Jailbreak tweaks. For example, long before the Control Center was introduced in iOS 7, there was a tweak called SBSettings which offered the same functionality. I'm part of the community of Apple users/developers out there who would love to see side-loading come to life.
Drawing inspiration from is not the same as allowing random ass developers to develop for you.
Muta here seems to have forgotten about all the ads that get placed above actual links for stuff. It’s very easy download malware. The correct argument against this is, yes, it is a potential security risk, but I should be allowed make that decision for myself.
Even iOS 16 has taken alot of features that people have been using for years with jailbreak. Like the lockscreen customization was taken from tweaks like kalm or complications
@eomoran muta understands that, but the point muta is trying to make is that if you are actually participating in this than that is the person's risk and its Idiotic to fear monger the way they are
@@eomoran that falls under the sketchy site genre he mentioned. If you're on a site with 4 different download buttons, don't be confused when you don't get what you expect.
Not to mention apple will obviously warm the user like android does before installing a 3rd party app.
@@eomoran Fair point, I agree with you on that.
Apple's method in safety is like those parents who want to shield their children from the harshness of the outside world by locking them in the basement ... for life.

you know iPhone will be more secured if it doesn't have internet connection
I think they are testing the waters for how much control they have over their cult. Always good to check in on that.
Their security unit or Secure Enclave as they call it has already had its security compromised. They're just protecting what's left of the iPhone's security at this point. It's potentially one of the reasons why they refused to allow for sideloading all this time. They've been terrified because in terms of security and privacy, that's all ios devices have left. Users should be have been allowed to sideload stuff all this time, they paid for the phone after all, so might as well give them the freedom to take advantage of it and use it however they want, not take that freedom away and claim "it's for your own protection". Stubborn Apple is being stubborn and wants things to go their way, because they've never been used to being told "No".

Apple could literally integrate side loading to something similar to Android's dev options where you tap the OS a bunch to unlock it then manually enable it.
This, or even provide a alternate version of iOS for power users.
Thats funny cause you just described exactly how it works on android. You cant side load an app on out-of-box phone straight away. You actually have to go to settings and flip the switch for that. And even after flipping a switch it will prompt you that this might not be safe to do so.

Pretty bad lol
Why apple fan say there are secure when they have been compromised before??
If security is very bad then why does Apple feel over confident about the security of MacOS? As long as Apple compares MacOS to Windows they will be afraid to admit that Linux has been the most secure open source desktop operating system I might as well add Apple is only comparing MacOS to Windows because the reality is that Apple can’t compete against Linux distributions

What amazes me is why it's so popular in the US when they preach freedom and Apple is so restrictive of what you can and cannot do.
Mostly because it's a decent device that just works. Accessing the file system, sideloading, etc. are nice to haves but most people don't care about that. The phone is used for a few major aspects: communicating with other people, browsing, using some collection of apps, and an easy-to-use camera that people don't need to spend an additional few hundred or thousand on. The restrictions don't bother people because they don't care about them - to the point that they might not even realize those restrictions exist.

I have been pushing my Swedish politicians hard on this bill. I'm so proud that it went through. Now we're just waiting for "The right to repair"-bill to get through all the red tape and get finalized. It's gonna be awesome when people can actually go to a corner store _(or something like that, that ISN'T connected to Apple at all)_ and get their iPhones fixed instead of having to buy new ones or sending them away. It's gonna save so insanely much E-waste from getting to third world countries.
May I ask, how (if it is at all) is the Swedish bill different? If it's anything like what we've seen elsewhere, then we're just going to be in the same situation of Apple overcharging for parts and basically making it so thats it's almost as cheap as just going to Apple (who'll just give you a new phone). Also, wouldn't the repair places have to be connected to Apple anyway? (because the Apple engineers have to pair the parts for you even if you repair it yourself)
@@quinntrbl It's not a Swedish bill, it's a bill for the EU, but as I'm Swedish, I push my Swedish EU representatives to in turn push this bill. With the bill I'm pushing, there shouldn't be any special parts, since most phones - Apple's too - are made out of mostly basic shit, and if they aren't, we are pushing them to change to something that anyone can buy so that they can fix their phone at home if they can, or at some store who's specialized in fixing phones if they aren't capable themselves. I hope the bill goes through, it looks like it, but you never know what amendments they'll make to get it through in the end. I'm staying positive though, and keep sending e-mails and pushing as hard as I can with *facts* for this to go through. I was sure this was some kind of oversight on the user's part until I asked someone to send me an image (character reference) so I could draw their character for an Artist's Alley commission.
Normally this is pretty straightforward via Bluetooth. Few years ago my mother decided to get a pad. I am a person who is into tech stuff. I build my own PC and have a nice setup for example. When I say I build PC I mean I hand picked every part myself, ordered braided cables, added some nice features like touch screen that allows me to control fans and I see temperature, optimized air flow and etc etc. It looks clean, efficient and cool.
When I do stuff like that I do a lot of research. I don't have regrets buying tech stuff as I put a lot of thought into it.
So I told my mom I could pick her a pad. She just needs to decide how much she can pay and what kind of features she would like. Instead of listening to my advice she bought a ipad which was over 1k euros. I completely agree that it's a quality device like sound, screen, battery and etc. Still I think I could have found something better for half the price. My mother doesn't watch TV so I made her a laptop setup. Inserted SSD, connected a nice monitor, some good speakers and a wireless keyboard with build in touch pad. I tweaked settings and installed all necessary stuff. It's like a TV on steroids.
Once I got my hands on that Ipad I just instantly saw how much it lacks freedom. Can't customize some things or just do some stuff. Can't even do anything about ads which annoy my mom but I said it's your own fault. Plus I had pleasure of learning a lot about apple and a lot of it is just greed. How they take away power from consumer and ask insane amount of money for smallest things. You can't go to a technician no no, you need to go to a apple certified expert who will tell you to change half of the phone to fix a charging port or something. Their obsession with creating "unique" stuff like requiring a cable only used by apple. I had to buy a fucking 3.5mm adapter for that ipad.
It just feels like Apple devices are not completely owned by you even after you buy them. They don't even give you options as they want you to live in apple world and be dependent on it.
Apple products are soo restrictive and humiliatingly greedy, when you buy something, you gotta buy million other things for you to complete the whole set, and unlock them, whereas a single android phone like the S23 Ultra 5G can bundle up 70% of what apple products did and didn't. It's SOOO greedy because they ask for huge amount of price for a single phone that has many obviously, on purpose, restricted and blocked features that have not been added by apple for their own benefit, just so that they can progressively open them one by one with each generation so that they can squeeze out every cent from their consumers and inbred fanbase. It's really scummy and it's even worse when their backing them up as some sort of hero when it's the literal thing that dries up their wallets and blinds their eyes on what huge improvement that could impact your devices. It's insane.
100%, though you can understand why normies like them. It’s like a console where you don’t have to worry about what specs you have and it’s streamlined to be as easy to use as possible. The counterbalance obviously is that it’s a one-sized fits all system, so you can’t really shape it to be perfect, it’ll always be middle of the road.
You can go to a technician they just have to be apple certified and the only thing that happens if you go to a non apple certified is your warranty gets voided
@@Alecexo it's true. And the problem is that the iphones durability is insanely weak compared to androids, mainly the new one's. They're clever and they make sure their products aren't as resilient and make an excuse for it to be small and portable and storage issues and looks. I don't like that company but it's not like I love Samsung, I just see a clear difference of superiority and which one is trying to take advantage of consumers and another for the better of its progression

I literally cringed when they introduced last year's processor in iPhone 14 and called it "Tried and tested formula" 💀
I.e "some old sht we gonna charge you new prices for" 😂
The claim that cringing at the introduction of last year's processor in the iPhone 14 and labeling it as a "Tried and tested formula" makes no sense can be countered with the following arguments:
Incremental Improvements: The use of a tried and tested formula in the iPhone 14 does not necessarily imply stagnation or lack of innovation. It is common for companies to refine and optimize existing technologies to deliver incremental improvements. By utilizing a processor from the previous year, Apple can focus on optimizing performance, efficiency, and software integration, thereby delivering a better user experience. Cringing at such an approach overlooks the potential benefits of refined technology.
Consistency and Reliability: Utilizing a proven processor design can provide a sense of reliability and consistency in terms of performance. The previous-generation processor may already be a high-performing and efficient chipset, capable of meeting the needs of most users. By incorporating it into the iPhone 14, Apple can ensure a stable and reliable user experience without the potential risks associated with a brand-new, untested chipset.

I can absolutely agree with this. This is why after the iPhone, i eventually got myself AirPods, Apple watch, Macbook, Homepod and eventually even a Mac Mini. File Sharing aswell as connection sharing is so much easier between apple devices than with Android/Windows. Let alone, that the Apple Silicon CPUs are much more power efficient than any AMD or Intel. Switching from Windows to MacOS saved almost 40% off my powerbill. I had 3 Androids and I've had more issues with them than I have with iPhones. She prolly talks to several men at once and can’t stand a guy who has more braincells than herself.
Facts. It's super weird. There's actually a lot of women who act like that. Truly disturbing.
you dodged a fat bullet
Nah that’s a W
Idc if a girl is hot or not, if she depicts the type of person I am based off my phone, it’s a red flag
Meanwhile she has an iPhone 7 with cracks
"why, yes, I am an adult and can make my own choices without a company babysitting me".
