Ngl I'm liking the more "behind - the - scenes" aspect of what it's like to be an artist alley vendor. The realities, the struggles, the ups and downs, etc. Keep it up! 😄😂
Seeing the failed payments made me sad, it’s a lost sale. Last time I went to a convention I made sure to bring cash and phone digital payments, thankfully the cash came in clutch at the artist alleys. I’m an artist myself so I had a feeling to bring cash to artist alleys just in case digital payments fail. Sending you hugs ✨
Cash is also great cuz it helps you budget. I try my best to strictly go in with cash and only do card if a table doesn't accept cash/doesn't have change or I failed at my budget and I see something I can't like without. Went to a con yesterday where the artist asked me to do card as she was traveling alone and didn't want to risk being a target for theft, which I totally understood.
The biggest issue I had with the small bathrooms at the Javitz during an anime/comic convention is all the cosplayers hogging up all the stalls and the sink area as their personal dressing rooms. I had to find the bathrooms on the farthest side of the convention center just to use them as intended! 😅
As a cosplayer, I agree. Me and my group try to avoid using them to do anything outside of touch up makeup real quick for the mirrors. But the cons down here have a LOT of hidden bathrooms in the venues that are a bit of a walk in the center but very rewarding because next to nobody uses them.
so cool to see the behind the scenes of anyc as a con-goer who goes mostly for artist alley LOL ive heard some.... things! abt this years con from artists💀💀 anyc in general was kinda crazy this year bc of the changes they made (im so glad i brought cash this year) also i remember seeing ur guys' table! (to be fair i walked thru the artist alley in its entirety like 5 times throughout the weekend so ofc i saw u guys) but i didnt get the chance to buy anything from yall
OMGEE I SAW YOU GUYS!! i was there with my dad in homura cosplay! As a new york native i will admit that the javis center is way too small at this point. People wanted to make it bigger but the governor said no so this is what were stuck with. I dont know how the bathrooms were since i didnt go into them but i had a great time!
You have to be a cartoon character! Actually I take it back, you aren’t written well enough to be a cartoon character. You’re demoted into being an Indian tv show character
Hi! As an aspiring artist these videos are awesome! Im glad it was recommended to me. Ive already watched another art con vlog of yours and its great to see how these things work. Keep making art and vlogs!
I just want to say- I love your vlogs thank you for being so open about your highs and lows! the amount of time and care you put on creating video! (this Genshin outfit wish reveal was a chef kiss! ❤❤❤ awesome work 😊)
(girlypop from the mentorship) oh it was so lovely to see you irl! ngl i wanted to go back to buy more stuff but my finances said otherwise (plus the gd internet was just not it lol) glad to see you still had fun thou lol ❤
I went in 2023 and it's tiny at anyc. Same with that map you show of this year. That's the main exhibitor hall for NYCC only. The areas for artists alley, signings, and all of the panels are in totally different places. Seems like the expansion they got that apparently pushed them to August instead of the nicer time frame in November didn't add as much as I expected
this is so wild to me as someone in florida who the last megacon they went to, it seems like they’re heavily steering away from cash and i always went cash only for cons and i ran into issues!!
Definitely late to ask but are you going to go back next year or ever? I did buy from your booth but I was too scared to ask for an autograph (sorry to sound nerdy)
I don't know if you've answered this before but when you and a friend share a table, are you both using the same pay system/"combine" businesses or are you both independently running a business at one table/it's like two separate business just at one table? Love the vids :)!
Hey! So it depends on whether the person I'm sharing with has their own payment systems/terminals set up, or if we want to offer deals across all our products. For ANYC, my partner was Canadian and can't really take card payments here, so we took sales through the same system, and I just paid her back afterwards
can i ask where you get your materials for the table? like the actual piping to hold the stuff up. I'm planning on going to an artist alley in the future and its kinda overwhelming lol.
You should consider turning on offline payments for the card reader if you have the option. Yes there is a chance that the payment might not go through when you go back online if they don't have enough funds but I feel that it's honestly pretty rare for someone to use their card and for it to decline. It really hurt my soul watching you turn away people because of your card reader not working.
Same, some guy dressed as Spider-man started breakdancing. That guy sings handedly convinced me to check out Cartoon conventions instead of anime conventions and let me tell you, Cartoon conventions are either world ending threats or regular Saturday mornings. If only anime conventions didn’t stink so bad
OPINION, I think a lot of people aren't ready to sell their art because their skills aren't there yet. I hate to say. But if you're just trying to have fun and have nothing to lose go for it to be honest.
When you go to a museum and you look at all the religious paintings, are they not just "fan art" of the bible? If you look at all the Greek/Roman gods, are they not just "fan art" of Mythology? Fan art is real art. You are illustrating what is relevant to the lives of yourself and others.
ZYOX MENTION! saw them at ax truly sweet, either way more con vids I like watching these, helps me appreciate artists more going through all this lol 12:52 lmao?? 😭
getting room 911 was insane
The fact that they even have that as a floor is like if people included the 13th floor in buildings.
it's a number. people need to stop obsessing over it like its something superstitious
@@thisisnotthechannelyourelo407 i'm from nyc so i just thought it was insane in a funny silly way not a serious one
YOOO UNWRITTEN PEAK
They'll never forget this stay

Why is "the cyber truck of conventions" so accurate
The biggest issue I had with the small bathrooms at the Javitz during an anime/comic convention is all the cosplayers hogging up all the stalls and the sink area as their personal dressing rooms. I had to find the bathrooms on the farthest side of the convention center just to use them as intended! 😅
My medium sized local con even sets up a room with dressing rooms in it. I'm surprised bigger cons don't do that
As a cosplayer, I agree. Me and my group try to avoid using them to do anything outside of touch up makeup real quick for the mirrors. But the cons down here have a LOT of hidden bathrooms in the venues that are a bit of a walk in the center but very rewarding because next to nobody uses them.
