Kinda frustrating that this scene doesn’t play out any differently if she’s your love interest. Figured my Shep would say something a little more personal to get her inspired again

I am SUPER disappointed by this moment. Liara is too understanding after completely losing Thessia. Earth and Palaven still have a fighting chance, while Thessia is evacuating everybody, and the people that are still stranded on the planet are hopelessly fighting hordes of Husks and other Reaper ground units, not to mention their military is damn near crushed, they have no advantage against the Reapers themselves, etc. Basically, Liara has an arguably worse situation than Shepard or Garrus (I'm not saying they don't have it bad either) And all it took was 2 minute pep talk to get her back on her feet! I expected something more, like a bigger row of things to say to her, play your cards right, and maybe she'll calm down, but still need some time before she can get back to business. or if you get enough options wrong, she'll kick you out, it'll effect your relationship with her. I don't know, something better than this.

I would've liked the drama to be a bit more heightened with her as well, but it's important to remember that this scene is about reminding her that while the battle for Thessia was lost, if they don't stop the Reapers and engage with the large threat, they'll never be able to take it back - which they eventually do.

I always felt that it was better if you don't press that aragon button that shows up on the screen, and then choose "You did what you could". The following dialogue shows up if you do.
Shepard: [Sits on the bed] You couldn't have saved them Liara, even if we got there before Cerberus. Blaming yourself won't help anyone. Especially you.
Liara: You're right. I know. I just wish there were something i could do to help right now......... [Lies on the bed]
Shepard: [Gets up] ..............I know......... [ Walks away]

I think its more that they're all pushing it to the side for now. They have the entire war to worry about. As harsh as it is they can't allow themselves to be hung up on losing one planet. Shepard and Garrus both had to make the choice to essentially leave it for later just like Liara has to do now.
