Hope the ditch helps resolve the water problem. It's nice having teenage sons, and in my case grandsons, with muscles to help out. Michael is a wonderful asset in helping the family make a homestead.

Love that you put in the long hard work of putting in ditches on each side. My only worry is that if it has rained that it will be slippery and you might slid off to one side and get stuck in a ditch. Hopefully you will be putting in some rock for the top of it this year.

I feel your pain Wiley, as you know I’ve been working on my roads and fighting erosion for years, but persistence pays off and we’re finally getting close to having it licked.
Good hard working kids are Gods reward for raising them right . I think you will need a bigger calvert in the future but what you have will get ur dried out. Thanks for the info on the water pressure from this and another video. It really helped us out . Are well will be uphill from are temporary dwelling near the house build site . I was worried about toting water but now we will just pipe it down. Cheers
I believe in the other video I mentioned it but just in case... for every foot of fall it creates 1/2 psi. So like our a 20 foot fall we should in theory have about 10 psi. Of course we only used 1/2 water line over 500 feet so we probably have about 5 psi at camp. So keep in mind the bigger the water line the better.! 1 inch line was just out of our budget...
Hey if you start getting erosion in the trench that you dug I would fill the bottom with river stones or something similar , it helps catch the small particles of dirt and silting your drain , good luck
It just dawned on me that ya’ll are the ones that moved next door to Jeff Bobblehead and I saw his latest video and he was still trying to get everything together on his property and get all his chickens settled and he was going to try to separate his flocks of chickens
