Thought the manual says 1.9?
Thank you for the correction! You are right
Thanks for the oil change review to show how to access the bolt and filter easily. Cool 650 design.
Thanks for this, just got my 2023 650 KRT and I'm in love again! XOXO. Great mid range starter bike. License tested on a Honda CBR400 and that was it... HAD to get a sport bike. Knew the 400 would be too small and now I know why people get 1000's! No regrets with this. Will definitely graduate to a ZX H2 or SX next. Keep the videos coming, great stuff!
Had it for almost a year now and still love the 650 and I agree with you that I'm also looking for a 1000 lol. I think if I started on a liter, I would've been sent flying! Thanks for the support 🙏
Great video! Helped me do my break in oil change today! Now i can let the bike really stretch it's legs
Niice! Ride safe out there, hope you love it as much as I have!
@@CHANCE_MOTO I'm in love lol. Ride safe as well!
Nice Bike! and thanks for the video!
Glad if it helped 🙏
Thank you, Chance, for guiding me through the first DIY oil change on my Ninja 650!!! So clear and concise. You are appreciated!! #elbowtorque
Glad it was useful!!
Let me know if you guys want to see the MV Agusta 1000RR and I’ll go back to see if they’ll let me do the ride!
For the clip on the bottom you're supposed to put the center pin inside of the clip to remove it.
Thanks for this tutorial! Question: what do you suggest to get oil stains off of my exhaust?
Glad if it helped! You can try regular soap and water with an old cloth or a degreaser should work if the soap doesn’t.
I just got this exact bike; so thank you, sir.
Glad it was helpful!
@@CHANCE_MOTO If you ever do any other maintenance for your 650 (lubing chain, replacing air filter, filling coolant levels, etc.) It'd be cool if you made videos on those processes too. I've never owned a motorcycle prior to my '22 650 so it'd help heaps to see the maintenance processes for the same exact bike from someone who seems to know what they're doing. You actually do good camera angles too, which I really like (most ppl who make maintenance guides lack in that department) I'm a college student so any money I can save by doing maintenance myself is a plus. I'm unfortunately not mechanically inclined so these type of vids are very insightful. Thanks!
@@_Gubi_ I can most definitely do that! Thanks for taking the time to watch and glad it was helpful
@@_Gubi_ I'm in the exact same boat with my 22 650 KRT. Have fun and be safe!
@@CHANCE_MOTO i second the camera angles. Perfect for someone with no motorcycle experience 👍
Hi, so thanks for the instructions. So clear and better than anyone ive seen 🎉
After oil and oil filter change tho, i started the engine and there are weird smoke and smell coming off the exhaust pipe near the oil filter. Do you suppose this was the oils that leaked or dropped when removing the oil filter? Thanks again!
Yes, it's just the oil burning off the exhaust, it'll be be a bit of smoke then disappear once it's all burned off. And thanks for watching, glad it was helpful!
@@CHANCE_MOTOthanks, appreciate the help.
O have the same bike, enjoy rides!
Nice! It’s an amazing bike 🤙
Hi .. after the oil change .. how much oil do I need to put in and my bike is ninja 650 20 plate
It'll be 2-2.5 qts. Go with 2 and check your oil glass to see if you need to add more.
Thank u very much
You never told everybody to warm up the engine or change after a ride??
Should the oil level on a non-running engine be up to the top mark or between the top and bottom?
Oil level should be between top and bottom on non running but if its a little up then shouldn't be an issue
@@CHANCE_MOTO it came from Japan filled in at the top label, the instructions say to fill in between the labels, I asked the service, the service man said that I also fill in at the top label, since the levels are lower in turns, but there is an oil pump there , what difference does it make what angles in turns? What do you think about this?
@@work_at_sea2178 I don’t think it’ll make any difference in turns if you’re worried about the pump, I’ve put mine on the track and scraped my pegs well before anything else. You should be fine
@@CHANCE_MOTO thanks bro
Sure, the MV Agusta would be great. Also wondering if you enjoy simply stopping and putting fuel into your bike? Gassing up my car is a ho-hum event, but I get a lot of satisfaction adding fuel to my motorcycle.
Lol I just enjoy the fact that I can park close to the fuel pump and sit on the bike while gassing up not having to get up
what stand is that ?
Just a stand I got from Amazon called SPECSTAR - amzn.to/46bLvyS
What’s the name of those sliders? Or fairing guard idk how you call them
Those are the Puig Pro frame sliders
@@CHANCE_MOTO been looking for those but didn’t found anything I can actually see on a ninja and since we have the same one and yeah they look good! I have done couple things to mine that I haven’t seen them on your let me know and can send you some pictures so you can compare
@@ricardoc4841 Would love to see it! Send it through my IG if you want
@@CHANCE_MOTO insta link isn’t working
@@ricardoc4841 my bad the one under the video description is current
Hi, how would you describe oil's smell? How does bad oil smell?
Rather than smell you can tell oil is bad based on feel. If it feels gritty the oil probably needs to be changed. But compared to good oil, I guess bad oil would kind of smell burnt.
@@CHANCE_MOTO I agree. My concern is what if oil smells like gasoline?
@@Jurica-mtb Then you may have a leak in the injection, is there smoke out the exhaust when driven?
@@CHANCE_MOTO No, there is no smoke. The engine runs fine. It doesn't eat oil. How much of concern is it? Will it speed up engine's components wear? Or should I just ignore it. I bought the bike brand new. I've breaked it in respectfully. Have been riding it dynamically but I wasn't killing it.
@@Jurica-mtb Hmm that's hard to say without me knowing too much about it. If it was brand new then I wouldn't worry too much. Doesn't hurt to take it in for a look if it's under warranty from where you got it so you have a peace of mind.
This bike just takes
