Both hubby and I wake up with pretty serious back pain daily(and have for a couple years now). That saatva is so tempting-it looks so comfortable! I like that it helps align the spine. Hubby would like that the winkbed sleeps cool-since we have diff sleep styles I like that it is good for several.
I'm a sidesleeper with occasional back pain. But not sure what causes it. Could be the bed, the way I sleep. or even shutting car door wrong. But I believe a good mattress would definitely help straighten it out when resting with the pain. The Helix looks like a winner here. Or the Winkbed.
This was helpful. I've been waking up with more shoulder and upper back pain recently, and it could mean I need a new mattress. I do like the sound of the Nectar and the Saatva. It's good to see so many options out there for when I'm ready to buy
Nearly every mattress gives me back pain. I’m a lightweight back sleeper With a back and hip injury so it’s really hard to find the right combination of soft and support. I’m currently on a Helix Sunset luxe with their memory foam topper and still have trouble getting comfortable. Way too firm at my shoulders. Helix midnight luxe way too firm. Have the Layla with the Layla topper and the contouring is great, but not sure about that one yet. The best so far is the Casper Nova Hybrid. It’s great for lightweight sleepers - husband who is 170 pound combo sleeper loves it and I really like it. I’d like to try the Nolah.
Yes my mattress gives me back pain! It also gives me shoulder pain! The Casper original looks like it would be wonderful for me! Or the nolah signature because it would help with hip pain, shoulder pain and back pain! The birch is the best firm mattress and is way too firm for me!
3 bucketlist mattresses listed in this review and my first choice is the Winkbed. Cooling features with hybrid support for back and neck. Oh yes!! Definitely top pick. Bonus question: my old mattress causes back, hip and shoulder pain. I am a combination back and side sleeper who also sleeps hot. I suffer from arthritis and joint issues. The age of the bed is showing and not as comfortable as when it was new. Great review as always
My mattresses have given me back and severe shoulder pain, and thanks to my neck surgery, I can't sleep on my stomach either. Soon I'll be sleeping upside down like a bat 🙃
Luckily I do not have back pain much anymore. Now I just have hip pain from sleeping on an old futon that should have been replaced years ago. Great information though for those that have back pain. I know these would also help me as well and will keep them in mind when I do purchase a new mattress.
I'm looking for a Twin XL, 11" deep. I have articulating bed, so whatever mattress I get, has to accommodate the different positions. I have chronic back as well as nerve pain in my left leg. I injured my back in 1991 and have not had a pain free day since. I have gone through four back surgeries, two of which were fusions. I am pretty much a back sleeper, however, I like to roll onto my sides to relieve the pain in my back from always laying that way. Unfortunately, I can't fall asleep on my side, but maybe it's because of my current foam mattress.
Our current mattress is a 20 year old Posturepedic that is past due for replacement. I have a foam topper that helps a little bit but it's difficult to wake up without pain and feel rested.
Yes it does but I’m also trying to adjust to it I started with the Casper wave hybrid and it was too firm but didn’t wake up with lower back pain I should of kept it. Now went with sterns and Foster brand umm we will see !!!
Bought tempurpedic and hate it! Back pain has never been worse and niw have hip pain since sleep on my side. Should i go with the saatva or helix? Best regular bed is bad at marriot not sure what they use
Giveaway: Yes, my current mattress does cause lower back pain. I think because it's older and is bowing inwards. It's a TempurPedic. I am so ready for a new bed. I like the sound of the Nolah Signature for its soft, pressure relieving and breathable foam and for spinal alignment. Thx Logan and Happy New Year!!
I must of got a bad Nectar cuz I hated it. I got a helix and threw some toppers to prolong and get that true memory feel and celliant covers on it. It’s amazing. I have dreams nearly every night.
I am most interested in the Idle Latex, but would also like Saatva or Wink Bed. My current mattress does cause back pain. By the way, the location of the giveaway question this time was placed in a way to make it almost imposssible to read as the writing of the normal video covered it up!
Hello! I’ve been watching and reading your content from your website. It’s amazing! Thank you for putting together all this information. I have herniated discs in my lower back and though I try to sleep on my back as is best for my spine, I toss and turn and end up sleeping on my stomach most every night. I’m a midweight sleeper and I have no sleeping partner. My sciatic pain is getting worse and the stiffness and pain in my lower back is telling me I need a new mattress. Which do you recommend for a sensitive back like mine? (I don’t run too hot while sleeping, I usually like firmer mattresses than super super soft ones, I have no budget limit- anything to help alleviate the pain.)
K I’m thinking of the wink?? I have had 10 back surgeries and now my neck is hurting.! I also have RMD😢 . I rock my whole body while sleeping and had every test out there! They all agree that is it!! Problem … nothing out there to help it. So if anyone has a good mattress I need help. I’ve had the sleep number and need options on others
Hi! I have hip and lower back pain issues. So much so that I wake up early morning (4-5'ish) with pain. I alternate between sleeping on my sides and back throughout the night. My husband also snores. What would be the best option for a mattress for us? Also, I do sometimes get a stiff neck in the mornings. Thank you!
This post should be titled the LIBERATOR MATTRESSES. Lol😆 . Why? Because I am a Back sleeper and it seemed that noone had addressed this issue till now. Winkbed and Satvaa are my picks with its combination of foam and coils. And I must say that Casper had peaked my interest also.
Hi, my sleep number just sprung a leak at 1 am. This is the second time now, so I need to move on to a new manufacture. What would you recommend for a back sleeper, who tends to get hot and on the heavier side? My budget is under $2000. I lean to the firm side but would consider medium firm. Thank you
It's interesting that you say Layla is good for pressure relief/side sleepers. That is why we bought it, but we often wake in the morning with achy shoulders. We are both side sleepers and use the soft side of the mattress. Any thoughts on why we'd be having issues?
We are going to have a challenge when it comes to choosing a new mattress. We are both side sleepers, however, we both have back issues as well. Do you think you could help us with what mattress would be good for us please?
How about there loom & leaf for lower back & cooling? In have read reviews where it is good for lumbar support I have been n a Tempur-Pedic rhapsody, it’s horrible, I did get a warranty claim and have $2800 to use only toward a Tempur-Pedic, I was leaning toward the lux breeze firm over the Tempur pedic medium hybrid.
Giveaway: My mattress does not cause me back pain unless I sleep on my stomach for too long. Loving the Nolah Signature review...it looks like a nice pressure relieving mattress.
I can't sleep on my stomach with my mattress. I'm a side sleeper 95%....sometimes I like to just roll and stretch.,..not sure this one would be good for me
Thanks for the video! I’m considering buying a Saatva, but I don’t know what firmness I prefer. I am a back and side sleeper (right side). What goes into determining firmness preference?
We are having to get rid of our Leesa mattress after 2 years of use. Both me and my wife are having severe lower backpain, so bad I am sleeping on a 20 year old spare bed and my wife on the couch right now. The leesa was great the first year but it started to get softer at our hip level. Center of mattress is not bad and sometimes one of us will sleep alone in the center. Just blew me away that it could change so drastically a year and a half later.. not sure whats the point of a mattress like this if its going to change so drastically nearly 2 years in
What soft, hybrid, foam feel mattress would you recommend for someone who tried Wink (got the Softer version) and Dreamcloud (original not Premier) and felt they were too firm? Mattress will be for a 215lb and 270lb primary side sleepers, which is why I'm thinking hybrid over all foam, for durability and support sake. I felt Dreamcloud was softer than Wink , which makes me think I prefer a foam feel to pillow top feel. Also, as if that's not all enough, there is joint/back pain happening and I'm hoping it's from sleeping on the wrong mattress. Help me Mattress Gurus, I feel like I'm going to go through 7 mattresses before I find the right one!
Casper and Nectar are as uncomfortable as only can be for lightweight sleepers with back/joint problems. Not sure where this reviewer is getting his info from. Definitely not from sleeping on those mattresses for a week or two.

If I didn't use a mattress topper then my mattress would definitely hurt my back as it is so old. The Winkbed is a beauty.
@@carriemel1 yes, it is! Asked for one from Santa for Christmas, but it didn't make it down my chimney I guess.
Good run down of great beds. Happy New Year, everyone! 🎊
A lot of great choices but I like the Winkbed in the soft version
Thank You Sleepopolis
I’ve had back pain for a bit. This video comes at the perfect time. Thank you
The Winkbed in firm is a great choice for my sleeping and pain
Both hubby and I wake up with pretty serious back pain daily(and have for a couple years now). That saatva is so tempting-it looks so comfortable! I like that it helps align the spine. Hubby would like that the winkbed sleeps cool-since we have diff sleep styles I like that it is good for several.

Nectar worked for the first three months, me and my girlfriend are returning it I got really bad lower back pain so does my girl.
I think the Winked or Birch would help me. Thanks for the helpful video!
A lot of good choices but I like the Winkbed in the soft version
Wondering if you bought one?
Need help my back and neck!
Wink looked like a good choice

I've been suffering hip pain from an old mattress and I've been eyeing the Helix Midnight and the Winkbeds recently
My mattress never gave me back pain, but it was too firm for me, so I got a memory foam topper for it.

Our current mattress is a 20 year old Posturepedic that is past due for replacement. I have a foam topper that helps a little bit but it's difficult to wake up without pain and feel rested.
My favorite mattress made another list the Saatva❣ I hope one day I'll own one❣💕
I have neck and back pain so the winkbed seems like a great choice. The saatva seems great also.
Just wondering if you found a bed?
Trying to choose one . thinking of the wink

Our mattress seemed to be the cause of some backpain until we got a topper...but now it sleeps hot...
I need a good mattress for back and side sleepers on the heavy side. One that can be used with an adjustable frame that sleeps cool.
