Thank you, I had a storm trooper helmet that I cut the top off of when I flipped it and found part of the helmet cut off the top. I knew this was possible to do just didn't know how to fix it. I had to follow the cura information and I got it spot on. This guide was a huge help to me.
So super helpful! I had a Mando pauldron stop printing overnight at 89% done because of a 2 second neighborhood power flicker. It was enough to kill the print. I ended up going back and just reprinting it but now that I’ve seen your method I know what I’m doing next time the power goes out. Thanks for such a great channel!
Lies all lies! The only option is to throw the dead print and 3D printer out of the window screaming in a hulk-like fit of rage. I’m consequently on my 32nd printer.
This sounds like Me 🤣 I like to use a hammer to fix things
Lol
This is probably the most true comment I've ever seen in my life.
@@SocialMediaFBIAgent Hehehe thanks!!
Your a life saver, it happened to me today, my extruder was printing in the air no filament extruding, it was a 1 day print. thanks to your video I was able to save it.
I've been saving Cura projects (File -> Save Project) after I've got everything setup so if I find something wrong in my setup I can go back and tweak it without having to set EVERYTHING else. Would be perfect for something like this since the helmet (or whatever) would be in the same position and you wouldn't need to worry about trying to line it up just right again. Has saved me a lot of hassle already.
Thanks Frank for this great tip. Saved my nearly two day print from being tossed into the bin. Worked perfectly now just post processing it.
This video deserves a lot more views! Way easier than manipulating g-code and the sorts.
welp wish me luck!! Thanks again for the great vids. Stay Awesome Frank!
That was super help full. I saw that video in the past and was like "oh that could be good use in the future", today I needed the instruction thanks!
I'm guessing the dislike is from someone that just threw out a failed print just before this video hit 🤣
THIS LEGIT HAPPENED TWICE IN THE PAST 2 DAYS.... THANK U!!!
Glad to see you in your new digs in the good ol US of A! Love the content. Keep it up bro!
Sooner or later you need to re-visit this video..as I just did 😀 thanks Frank!
Saw your TikTok dude, thank god you were on my for you can this is real cool.
OMG Thank you!! My printer was printing a 10 hour print then power went out. lol this is so much easier thank you so much for your help!!!
Great vid Frank. Thumbs up 👍
Nice. Good to know, Thanks.
Great guide Frank! Thanks.
Thank you!
Thank you!😎👍🍺
Thanks for more amazing info! My Mando helmet failed because the filament somehow broke in the bowden tube and the sensor didn't detect it was 2 days in! Using this technique tonight!
Thank you for this. My filament fir my Nova helmet ran out almost in the same spot as yours. Going to try this out.
Thanks. This was a quick and easy fix instead of trying to edit the gcode.
No problem!
Great video thanks for sharing 💜 this will help so much 🤗
Ugh my printer just isn’t working i leveled it double checked and it looked fine and is started printing and i left for a hour and the sleeve on the hot end was off and filament covered the hot end and the thing that heats it i have basically given up 3d printing
I have 3 Mando helmets that just screamed "THANK YOU"!!!! ....oh....and I thank you as well for this one! ;-)
These are so freaking cool
Seriously Frank......im jealous of you....!!!
I got a 3d printer because of you, my first print is a white lantern ring
Hi Frank, i’m not sure if i should buy a CR 10S, a CR 10S Pro or a CR 10S Pro V2, do you know witch one is nicer to use?
Or the Cr10s5, as it has a way bigger bed, but I'm still struggling with this same decision 😅
I Just got a CR10s Pro V2 and I am very happy with it. FYI it is my first 3d printer and as a noob I got it going fairly easy. I have printed PLA and PETG, and after calibrating for each filament it works great.
Now you have the nova helmet you can fly to space and hang out with the Guardians of the galaxy
Lol true
have you seen the animated guardians series?your thumbnail makes me think of it for a certain reason
I’m about to try this and hopefully save a 2 day print only thing I’m worried about is it’s detailed fingers crossed 🤞
Very useful thing to talk about! I just woke up to a plate full of spaghetti..
Edit: I actually did this same, but I used a caliper to find out the size. My ender 3 has been doing a weird thing where it will repeat layers and then start again, so it will look like it is scaling itself down. Do you know why it does this?
Edit 2: I usually save the project as a cura file, so I can open it up, and it saved all settings, supports, etc
+1 on saving the cura file. I learned that one the hard way. It’s definitely helpful especially if you rotate something to get it to fit on a smaller build plate. Trying to recreate that rotation can sometimes be a losing proposition.
This saved my 🍑 tonight. Or should I say, the jaw piece of my MK VI helmet.
I think another method once the z height is misured is to just take the model on ur slicer and cut it at the right spot
It's the same thing, i know, but having the model just moved under the print bed scares me 😂
It shouldn’t. It’s the same thing
@@FranklyBuilt yeah ik 😂 anyway great video, I started on end 2020 and ur tutorials helped (and are helping) me a lot!
What makes this fail happend? This happens for me when I have print 2/3 on a print, every time, smaller or larger prints don’t matter. (but it continue moving but no filament comes out)
Ended 3 neo v2
Great tip!
How's the video on the CR10 all in one conversion coming? I'm chomping at the bit to start work on mine.
It isn’t lol I didn’t film it before I moved
Doh! 😄
My printer will not move with out homing first...
1. Auto home doesn't work when the printout is stuck to the bed it will crash into it and knock it off
2. You didn't show anything you were doing on the screen?
drop it into netfabb and slice the bit that didn't print
you can even measure as well i did it with a resin print
You can always cut it off. This skips that step. You also need to measure the physical model too
Hey you don’t know me but I just wanted to say you inspired me to pursue my interest in 3D printing and making a hobby out of it and maybe one day a career like you I even plan to learn about wiring and programming my projects to do more and I just wanted to say thank you and it you ever are willing I’d love some pointers and any advice you could give
You're an amazing creator! I challenge you to make Sokka's sword from Avatar: the last airbender
Wouldn't most printers have the nozzle move down instead of the bed move up
Hey...!! Can you tell me the weight of mk 85 faceplate....!?!?
What kind of Ender 3D Printer is that? 2:00 2:30 where the nova helmet is.
does this work if you used a raft?
Hey I know you probably won’t see this, but I did this method and it said, “unable to slice”. I googled it several times and there wasn’t an solution, do you know what to do?
im stuck on this problem too
I have a question?im wanting to do an iron man build and i wanted to know will any size 3d printer work i dont have alot of money to get one of the bigger ones
does a bed leveler affect this? I tried doing this but my printer kept rewiping and was never able to finish leveling the bed.
I cant see anything on the screen when you talk about the setting is out off focus on you screen
I am a beginner in 3D printing. I've misprinted the Iron Man mask 3 times. The first time was the first file I printed and the printer was not fully set up. So I wanted to print it again, but the next 2 times, when it was a couple of hours away from finishing, I find it a few centimeters up moving without letting go of the filament. I tried to get it back both times but ended up moving the print. It's frustrating, I'm going to choose to print what's missing and paste it. Does anyone recommend me a method so that the union is not noticed? Thank you :(
cant u notepad the gcode and delete the already printed ?
oh that 50hz in USA hurts ;)
The what? Lol
@@FranklyBuilt I think he means the video flickering at the beginning due to the electrical frequency.
No that’s a fan and a shadow haha
Hi my g
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been using this method for awhile and eyeballing it. Sometimes I wasn’t successful lol. Measuring the height of the failed print with the printer is a great idea. 🙏
