After all this time we still miss you. The champion of Capua, the slayer of Theokoles, the bringer of rain, a true gladiator and brother. Spartucus. His true name is Andy Whitfield. You will forever be written upon our hearts. -December 2023
This is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful, awe inspiring and poignant tributes to a fallen friend I have ever seen. Andy Whitfield IS Spartacus and will forever be. No disrespect to the actor who took on the role after him, Liam McIntyre. RIP Andy, you are sorely missed. = /
Goat Liberator When I first saw LEGION, I thought, gaddamm goodbye Brad Pit. Acting wise he was not to be messed with, he was to be reconed with. I have always admired him and these guys have recond the talent he was with a chant of 1worriors. Beautiful tribute.
Liam faced a nearly impossible task: step into the shoes of a beloved actor tragically taken far before his time, who had already established camraderie and chemistry with the rest of the cast (who were still grieving), and try to not screw it all up. He wasn't Andy, but he did a damn fine job and made the role his own. Respect to both.
@GatsuKS Exactly 💯 ✌🏻 I think I've watched Season 1 like 8 times at least! As for Liam I really really tried it, I still try to! And I'm so so sorry for it, but for me he's just not it 🙁 he just doesn't have that sparkle flame 🔥 that Andy had ❤️ the scene in the arena when Spartacus screams "I am SPARTACUSSSSSS!!!!!" There is so much emotion and power in that yell, I just get the chills all over my body every time I watch and hear it!
The early death of Andy was beyond unfair and tragic. He was as talented as an actor can get. As a human, you could see the love he had for his family and friends. He seemed to be a very genuine person. He got his big break and then lost everything so quickly. It's heart breaking. Rest in peace Andy. I'll always regard you as one of the most talented actors ever.
😢😢😢Such a great lost, I've just watched spartacus last Dec 2020 and knowing that He already passed away. It is such a great lost. Truly a great lost😢😢😢
To Virgil Viden This 'heathen display' is the Hakka the tribal dance of the Maoris. To have this dance performed for you is the greatest honour for a warrior. That is what these people are doing honouring andy as a true warrior. I think it is beautiful and empowering.
What a wonderful tribute from Andy's cast mates. He was obviously very much loved and it's not hard to see why. Don't normally get upset when a celebrity passes but when i heard about Andy's death it just broke my heart. There was something truly special about this man, his aura, his gentle nature, he radiated goodness, something you can't fake and it shone through. That's how he touched so many people not by being a star but a genuinely decent man. My heart goes out to his family, what a loss..
Wow. This is my first time seeing this video. It's very touching, inspiring, and beautiful seeing how much Andy was loved by everyone who knew him. RIP 🙏🏾🔥🔥⚔🔥🔥🙏🏾
the intro from manu bennet the nod from the dude to the left as he steps forward then the sink and the words from barca, the whole set up into the final chills man chills, excellent stuff wish i had seen this when i first watched the series.
They look scarier than the New Zealand ruby team. R.I.P Andy Whitfield, our forever Spartacus and champion of Capua! Truly and simply a great tribute shown!
I love you Andy💜He was an incredible actor, a wonderful husband, father and son💜May you Rest in Peace💜You are truly missed, but you are no longer suffering physically💜As the Angel that you are, may you continue to visit your family in your butterfly form💜
It is a beautiful tribute to the great fighter Andy , in his eyes reflected a sensitivity and desire to continue living , the huge Spartacus who starred Andy live in my heart , I feel his death much .
It was sad poor Andy Whitfield couldn't play Spartacus again after Series 1 due to cancer which he sadly passed away. He was born to play Spartacus and he had good chemistry with Erin Cummings. May he rest in peace as a God of the Arena.
spartacus role is an masterpiece only given by such a great man!!!!!!!!! never tired to see first season with andy......... greetings from portugal,my regards to his family rip andy
I am not at all a New Zealander nor even from the same hemisphere as these men, but I felt the raw emotion and power in this Haka. A true mark of respect for their brother Andy. Much love from England 🏴
Thank you for your support! With only 5 days left to get involved, we are making our final push. Keep spreading the link above beherenowfilm com with others, leading up to 4pm Monday, July 23 when the campaign is over. The more we raise the more ability we will have to finish and distribute the documentary as widely as possible, internationally, and fulfill Andy's wishes to help and inspire others by sharing his story. It is an honor to have you join us. We cannot do it without you.
It's a beautiful film, truly. I watched for the first time earlier today as I'd just bought a Netflix subscription. The love shared, the fear, the joys and the terribly sad ending moved me beyond words. I love the Haka - I'm a Scots (from Glasgow) Lord of the Rings fan, both books and films! - and at conventions etc i've worked as crew and met lots of my most admired actors, lots from NZ. Most are lovely to fans. Andy Whitfield was a very special and gorgeous man, stunningly compelling, fierce and yet sensitive on-screen, and he is truly mourned by all. Blessings always to his adoring and adored family xx
This is the reason why I loved this show, nothing but respect for Crixus, Barka, and the other main gladiators. RIP Andy you had a warrior's heart, you're well missed, much 💗.
11 years already... Great actor but even better man gone but never forgotten. If anyone hasn't watched the documentary he made before his death you should watch it.
Awesome no words can express the loss and the admiration for these great men especially Andy I love the show I watch over and over you are all inspiring to me and I hope I can show my son the comraderie
Crying as l watch this, what a wonderful thing to see, Andy, you were loved SOOOO much. And thank you for sharing with us mere fans of him who loved from afar.
Wonderful. A loving, respectful and sincere tribute to a beautiful man, husband, father, and very good actor. Bless you, Andy, always. And your loving wife and children. We will never, ever forget you.
This was a well done documentary of a beautiful man and his family dealing with a horrid diagnosis of cancer. It truly touched my heart for I also was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in May 2011. I could feel his fear and the uncertainty in his voice as he struggled with this dreaded desease. But yet he never gave up hope until his body just gave out. What a awesome Spartacus he was, but it the man, father and husband who is missed most.
My god i can't believe i missed this in all of this years..i just started watching over Spatacus again since i never could go far from 2nd season without Andy.. and now that i see this it just makes me so sad.. haka is always to strong with emotions for me..
I watched the entire first season without realising what happened to Andy. I'm so sad, but equally so captured by the genuine love and friendships of the cast. So sad and beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us all of you. Much love xxx
No one knows, the path someone has taken to arrive. I only recently found his face and realized i too, was led here, on my path. As I age, I realize those who, touched our hearts and challenged our thoughts, live on, thru us, and our stories to the next. Thank YOU for showing me the Hakka, the tribal dance of the Maoris. I feel the emotion, the will to live. I fear the young to come, will be glued to black screens.
I am rewatching it right now - season 1 and when seeing Andy in the first episode I started crying. So big and strong in all ways possible on screen and off. This Haka is a beautiful tribute.
I'm absolutely obsessed with the show, I watch it over n over, only the season with Andy in it. He is seriously my total motivation when I go to the gym, and just motivates me in life in general. Funny how that connection is made to him, he is just that type person.. his whole demeanor just draws you in. I too feel a true loss knowing he is gone permanently, as does anyone who takes the time to notice his qualities as a person I'm sure.
an amazing individual, a fantastic actor and amazing comrades on set. I got a bit emotional at this video, remembering Andy had cancer but look at the brotherhood he had with these guys. Amazing tribute.
Andy has become a true gladiator when he fought against everything he went through and Finally he became on a true champion deserves all our respect . and this is a great way to they give their support , and so bliss that Andy could See it Despite this video was uploaded one year after his dead. Long Live to the great Spartacus Long Live to the great Andy Whitfield
Andy Witfield, I miss you so much without ever meeting you, you share a special place in my heart, a few months after watching Be Here Now, I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer,
Thank you men. I'm in fuckin tears here yet I fought on the football terraces and showed no fear, yet you men, I love you, brothers all over the world.
What a lovely tribute to Andy. I'm crying having just watched this. Appreciate the translation too. So happy I helped out with the Kickstarter support. Andy's memory will always live on..he was Spartatcus. Well done to all on the set who made this tribute..I'm sure it wasn't easy. Hugs to one an all. I look forward to the next series. :-) Bless you all.
This was awesome. The first time I heard this was from a film I saw on Netflix called Forever Strong. I liked the film...I also really liked the chant. Whatever it is supposed to be called. I have never seen the show, but when I found that money was needed, I wanted to help. I'm glad to help and glad that he was so well loved.
Just finished all seasons again… there is no word to describe this show. Rip Andy thanks for everything. And thanks to the new Spartacus for his great job.
You men are true men...What a beautiful Tribute to Andy...Beautiful & so touching. Blessings to ALL of the cast & crew xx FOREVER ANDY....Be Here Now!!!!
wow...Andy Whitfield deserved the tribute and he was so special in that role. Though I thought the new Spartacus did the role justice, Andy was born for that first season. I wish the show would have gone on longer, though Starz isn't very good with that, it let's great shows like Magic City, The White Queen and Camelot die.
It still makes me sick to this day that Andy is gone..watching Be here now only opens healed wound. ANDY IS SPARTACUS!! We miss you till it aches my friend!!
Very moving tribute for Andy Whitfield, he truly was a god of the arena in the show and in life, he will be always remembered for his courage, strength and great humanity.
The dislikers will be cursed by the Gods. :) R.I.P. Andy and thank you for your inspirational and convincing performance. This show has much violence in it but is not about violence at all.

I 100% agree
Many have lived great lives, and still never received such an honorable tribute. Andy must have truly been a perfect man to be as deserving as this.
Goat Liberator When I first saw LEGION, I thought, gaddamm goodbye Brad Pit. Acting wise he was not to be messed with, he was to be reconed with. I have always admired him and these guys have recond the talent he was with a chant of 1worriors. Beautiful tribute.
Spectacular ❤️❤️❤️
