Thanks Mitch, I bought a Vino that had a misfire and cut out from time to time. After watching you're video I followed the procedure and now no issue at all.
Just got a Vino 125 and Mitch’s videos have been excellent!!! I had trouble reinstalling my exhaust because it was damaged from a previous wreck. I hammered and pried it the extra 5mm it needed to line back up with the mounting points on the block, because I can’t afford 200-400 for a replacement exhaust. I’m quite satisfied with the results from removing the emissions system. The acceleration is much more linear. Before there was a noticeable hesitation at around 10-30mph, but now it’s nice and smooth 👍👍
I removed the emission from my 2008 Vino (this after I installed Dr. Pulley sliders). Mitch rocks. Good instructions. Quieter, faster, Speed Racer. We're still not polluting as much as the Koch Brothers. Minimal I'd say. Good stuff. Thanks.
I’ve looked over the emissions system and don’t see anything that would limit power other than perhaps the catalytic muffler restricting flow. Only reason I can see for the performance increase was perhaps the carb pulling more fuel with the vacuum hoses capped off. A larger jet in the carb would probably achieve the same result. A free flowing muffler and carb rejet would probably be the easiest engine upgrade for more power. And of course variator tuning can really improve a bike for your riding conditions, ie flat or hilly. A windshield can give a couple more mph on the top end as well.
Hey Mitch, I'm the original owner of my fantastic 2004 Yamaha Vino 125 YJ125S. What are the reasons to remove the EVAP System? Is this something you recommend ALL VINO 125 owners to execute? Thanks for reply. Your VIDEOS are top-notch, super helpful. P.S. I'm the one awaiting your tutorial on changing out the Fuel Gauge BACKLIGHT to LED, thank you so much!!!
Thanks for the informative video... mine had a rough high idle and this mod fixed it. Im sure it was sucking air somewhere from unnecessary hoses, so thanks!

Aloha Mitch, say...my vacuum plug kit has a plug big enough to cover the axel bolt plug location. Can I use the rubber or is it heat related that you use the metal plug, then rubber? Thanks, and have a great week
Hey Mitch . I really enjoy the simplicity of your videos. I recently bought two Vino 125's and have used your videos as I go through them. Do you happen to know any forums that are active on this bike? I guess there used to be a yahoo group that had lots of threads and pertinent info on the vino 125, but they shut that forum down. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Hey Mitch! Great videos, I just recently purchased a 2007 Vino 125. I have such a headache looking for 3 pieces you have on your Vino. The taillight and the two rear turn signals. Could you post or write where I can go to purchase a set for me, please?
So with emissions, it tops out at 51. Without emissions, it tops out at 53. So, essentially the same for an afternoon's worth of work. Didn't notice faster acceleration as your video had no timing. Does it increase gas mileage?
When I removed the vacuum line from the part you labeled to “just leave there” the whole thing popped apart and pieces fell out, i think I put it back together correctly but does anyone know what that part is? I figured it’s a breather valve or something, can I just remove the whole thing? It appears to just lead to the gas tank.
Just depend on where you live... where I live do not require emission test so it’s fine to remove... no it will not hurt then engine... it’s just hot air blowing around...
Thank you for you videos ,,,I have 150cc chinese scooter, running great, new carb, I decided to do an upgrade and add a uni intake, I used a custom raidiator hose to fit under the frame, and remove some emisions, and stock airbox, I changed main jet from 103 to 108 and no matter where I move the idle or mixture screw, it starts, then just dies and after 30 secs no warning, it gets very boggy on throttle and when I took it down the street it was not as fast and was a bit "chuggy" and "bucky" this happened with 100, 105 and 125 main jet, the vaccum hose from the manifold is connected the same and the PCV and the other emisions vent that were going into the old air box are just vented into the air and zip tied to the frame, do have any idea what happened? The scooter was running great before I did a few things, could it be the needle? what do you think?
Hey Mitch. I’m missing a bolt that attached the exhaust from the engine. Do you happen to know what size it is ? And where I could find one ? Cause I don’t want to crack the engine with a different size bolt.
What year is that Yamaha? I'm working on my 1993 Yamaha Riva 125 and only had some emissions I removed when I changed my Carb. It's 5 degrees outside today so I won't get back to it till April. Cool videos and I looking for more.
I ordered a generic fuel tank to replace my rusty nonrepairable one and it doesnt have a port for the evap line. Will it run fine if I delete the app cap system only?
Hey Toasty. I bought a Vino 125 with no fuel tank. I can not find one new or used. Were you successful using your generic tank? Did it work without the EVAP system? And finally, which generic tank did you buy? Thank you in advance, Sam.

It's made for a ATV/Go Kart but will slightly fit by using scrap pieces of flat steel/aluminum as brackets to center the tank close to the chrome housing. I got the filler neck to partially line up with the chrome housing (lip of cap rubs on the housing) and went to a local orileys autoparts store for the fuel line. (I believe I used 1 foot of Gates 4219XL 3/16" fuel line) But I would bring the entire tank to the parts store to confirm. The line included with the tank will not work and leaks fuel all over the place. I also ran an inline fuel filter (not from the tank kit) between the line coming from the tank to the line going to the petcock because the fuel line size is different but will fit on both ends of the fuel filter (that has a step sized male end). Because the tank doesn't have an evap line port, I deleted the entire system and plugged the carb port with a rubber vacuum plug (bought a random assorted box on amazon) The tank itself is vented at the cap. The tank capacity feels like it's between 1/3-1/2 gallon. I was able to travel close to 40 miles on a full tank and the fuel level was pretty close to empty. Hope this helps.
HELP! I was about to clean my V-Belt filter and when I took off the first shield I found a tube that is dangling and looks like it should be hooked to something. I wish I could send you a picture here. URGH I've been having issues with only being able to go 22 mph and then very, very slowly climbing to that.
Hi Diana, that should be ok, there are some tubes that are just hanging without plugging to something... they are for breathing ... Wow 22 mph? On your Vino 125? Sounds like you have bad rollers and need to replace.... I have CVT parts replacement video... check it out

After thinking on it some more, maybe the EGR could reduce performance a bit. I might try pinching it off and see if it makes any difference…
