I'm going build a frame for a lathe,As I got everything but the frame for only$100 and a friend gave me steel for the frame build. Seems you are the best of all Blacksmiths ( I believe that) If you find the time to build turning tools I will certainly be watching several times over. I do again give you my favorite Blacksmith award and if you don't build the turning tools spend some time with your family Sir Thanks
Great video, as always. I especially like the "nature part", that you always include. That makes your videos extra relaxing for me. But the project itself was of course awesome to watch as well. 👍
Torbjörn, I think this is the first time I have seen a tool rack of this design. It is very nice looking and also /functional, the best of both worlds so to say.
Great video, a beautifully made rack, and I like the sloping base. Your video has given me the main idea of how to make one, except I will have to make it free standing as I dont have a wall to attach the rack to. Cheers, Steve
Woodworking 101 very nice rack, just retired so I have more time to do my woodworking stuff finally and I have a lathe and I got the tools but I don't have a rack so I think I'll make this thank you very much for the Post.
Superb craftsmanship. So often people on RUclips totally ignore prudent safety equipment and misuse tools. Very fine example of how to do it right. Well done.
Really nice design and looks like it will make you a lot more productive on the lathe. I love projects that are appealing to the eye and have a very practical purpose. Great Job.
Very nice rack design and build execution! Also like that you left room for extras as they come. I built a couple of sets of Hollower's for a friend from O1, (1/4" 3/8" & 1/2" with various degrees of bends) one with Carbide tips and one just hardened. He turns a lot of hardwood bowls and has an amazing eye for finding beautiful grain in them....just a thought. Thank You, Torbjorn!
Thank you. Aha, interesting. I have plenty of O1... Will probably make a chisel/gouge or two some day. Not quite sure what a hollower is. All those carbide tools look the same, ha ha...
Thank you again Torbjorn ! I liked this one too as usual ! Have I don't know if any of my fellow fans have ever asked you to do a Q/A video but if you ever do..., I love to hear the story behind that level. I have seen you use it a number of times. We may have things like that here in the States but I have never seen one. And I just get the vibe that it has a cool history. If it doesn't ...please make one up for me when you do the questions / answer video. Ha ha
Nicely done sir, I think I will make one similar. I made a bow rack when I was a kid on this same principle and it help my arrows in place. Nicely done, keep up the fun videos and have a blessed weekend. Dale
will you had me fooled there for a minute thought it was going to be all dowel construction but no slip in a few screws . What those screws do is make sure you son does not have to do any repairs in the up coming years but his son maybe . But as always great neat job as always and I really appreciate the slight angle on the tool rest and very clever different design . Happy trails
it is more investment, but i like using toggle clamps much more for workholding on the drill press. you will soon find that you have too few clamps. very cool design for the rack. PS: also, i like sprinkling sawdust on to glue seep to make it easier to clean after it dries
Love the self-locking design for the handles. I second the idea for a blacksmith-made touchmark to burn your mark into your wood projects. The ice has almost melted. That would be a relief to me; I don't tolerate cold so well anymore. How long does it take for the lake to thaw, from solid ice to open water? Lovely photography, as always. Thanks for your work!
Thank you! Depends on the temperature of course, but I would say about a week. Strange how the temperature changed from around -5C to +15C in just one day...
Glad to see its getting warm in sweden, I was there (10 km from urshult ) over Påsk holidays, and the åsnen was still covered in thick ice, we built a snowman. Nice toolrack and Video! Du är en jurdgubb! No, don't ask why. Jurdgubb is my favorite swedish word, it looks and sounds so funny :p And I only know 25 or so.
I assume you want to keep your privacy and I understand that, but I've been trying to guess what is your every day job and if its related to any handwork type of job. It really looks like you know how to deal with every different work you undertake. Excellent work ! I always enjoy so much watching your videos. I love your style of just showing you make some stuff, taking your time and enjoying it. It is truly relaxing. Many greetings from Switzerland ;-)
Thank you so much Steve! Mostly computer related work. Have been doing 3d visualization for nearly 20 years. With RUclips and all I spend more and more time "building stuff" :)
Please invest in a wood burning emblem stamp for your wooden projects, one like nick zammetti has maybe... so you dont have to brand your wooden projects with pencil or you could even forge one :P
Hi, just made this from your design, looks great thank you! Best lathe chisel rack I've seen
Brilliant design! Love the way the tools pull themselves in through gravity.
Very nice project. Such clear wood and a very nice design for ease of dropping your tools into it and grabbing the next.
That is awesome and now I’ll make mine. Thank you and subscribed 😊
I've looked at several of these and I think this will be the best design for me. Thanks
Great. I think it works pretty good, even with different sized handles.
Made 1 and it works great. Thanks
Nice project, and some great wildlife in your garden .
What a blessed life you live Tor...truly blessed. Thank you for what you do!
R.
Well done! The first lathe tool rack that I haves seen that is worth making. Thanks.

Thanks , it's on my list!

Torbjörn, I think this is the first time I have seen a tool rack of this design. It is very nice looking and also /functional, the best of both worlds so to say.
Yes, it is working nicely!
Just ran across this video. Great job and craftsmanship. I saw the same design for cue sticks some years ago. Thanks.
Great video. Beautiful rack and that is a very cool old work bench..
Here we go again, I feel obliged to tell another guy... Nice Rack.
Great job TA.
Thanks for the inspiration I just finished making one for myself.
Cool!
Great video, a beautifully made rack, and I like the sloping base. Your video has given me the main idea of how to make one, except I will have to make it free standing as I dont have a wall to attach the rack to. Cheers, Steve
Amazing craftsmanship as always!

Very well designed rack. Also, I like that you like the same finishes that I like.
Well done, man. The angled bar on the lower end seem to work very well. That was my anticipation. Thumbs up!
Really nice design and looks like it will make you a lot more productive on the lathe. I love projects that are appealing to the eye and have a very practical purpose. Great Job.
Thanks!
Great design. It inspired me to make a rack but I'm attempting to make a double rack.
Wow That's a very nice turning tool rack. For all your Lathe tools. you done a Awesome Job.
Thanks!
You have many great talents. Nice tool rack.
THANK YOU for making your stuff, and simply not resort to buying shelves made of sheetmetal.
So much more satisfying both to yourself and to us 💪
Thankyou it's a great design. I made 2 of these yesterday. The measurements at the start were really useful
That's great to hear!
Way slick! Thanks for sharing! 👍

Functional art! Beautiful!
As someone who is book smart, I envy how good u r with ur hands
Thanks. You just have to have the guts to go for it. If you fail you will only grow stronger.
Thank you again Torbjorn ! I liked this one too as usual ! Wow! It's not spring here yet so I am jealous! Very nice tool rack! I made a fishing rod holder with a similar design.
Thanks. Yes, that must work too!
Nicely done sir, I think I will make one similar. I made a bow rack when I was a kid on this same principle and it help my arrows in place. Nicely done, keep up the fun videos and have a blessed weekend.

Great idea. No place for the chips and dust to collect on the rack.

Отличная вещь! Нужно и мне для себя сделать такую же.
Fantastic!

Yes, I just used what I had available. Probably can't get too many clamps :) Good tip, totally forgot about that.
Great! Good job!!!

:) We will see... I hope to do some projects.

Using the nippers as a hammer on the dowels? If only you knew a blacksmith to make you a hammer ;) Very nice work sir.
He he...whatever lies closest on the bench... :)
Sempre um projeto interessante e um bom vídeo ! :)

Brains + logic = Awesome "stuff" :) Cheers.

Ha ha, cool. Yea, the weather changed over night so to speak...suddenly warm! That's not very far from me!
Oooooooomay good. Chapeau. Maniefique
You should ad a stop at the bottom of the slanted shelf to stop the smaller ones sliding in to far
Fantastic demo of a great idea for chisel stand. Do you have plans to build it?
Thanks, no I don't , sorry.
Bra jobbat!
Vous travaillez en tout sécurité. Et calculé en mili mètre pour réaliser un chef d'oeuvre. Maniefique illustrations. Tenc you
Thanks!
Magnific...

Found my design. I’ve been looking for design inspiration for one of these for a few months now...
Great! Have been looking too, and this idea caught my eye :)
good idea for a tool rack. Ty
